Vicky's of Santa Fe Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful restaurant to celebrate two anniversaries (20th and 30th)! Food was exceptional! Definitely try the pork chops -- they were amazing! Live music in the background for dinner was terrific. The manager went out of his way to help us celebrate our anniversaries with cake and a drink! We will definitely go back again.
We have been to Vickis during our vacation in the Palm Springs area for several years. Our meals have always been excellent and ample. Usually several nightly specials with some of the best seafood we have had in the desert. Service is excellent. We had the best carrot cake ever on a previous visit, still talking about it. We were too full to enjoy this visit. Definitely a fave for locals as well. Will be back.....
Went here twice. Had dinner 2 days before New Years. Very busy, high energy, loud. However, food was very good and we really enjoyed the whole meal. Afterwards, listened to music there and really enjoyed the blues group. Went back again on NY eve's to celebrate with music and party hats. Fun time, very nice waitress.
Not quite what we expected - advertised music whilst you eat, but turned out that was in a separate room/bar. Food was good and plentiful, waitress very pleasant. Helpings rather large so some food wasted. Dining area fairly noisy so difficult to hold a reasonable conversation without talking loudly. Didn’t stay for music as there was nowhere to sit.
My adult children and I were spending Christmas in Palm Desert for the first time. I found Vicky’s both online and as a recommendation from the hotel’s concierge, and we dined there Christmas Eve. The food was absolutely inedible. It was poorly prepared, undercooked and had no taste. We had six different dinner entrees, and all six were horrible. Our bill including tip was more than $500.00. We should have stayed in and ordered pizza.
We stopped here for the very first time and was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the service was attentive (Melanie), and we had an enjoyable time overall. We will return and would encourage others to give it a try! The steak was cooked perfectly and my wife enjoyed the 1/2 chicken. All the side dishes were very good and ample.
The restaurant plays live jazz in the lounge. The restaurant also has a bar with a TV and another room for restaurant eating. The music can be heard in all of the rooms. Several groups celebrated birthdays the night l was there and the band sang happy birthday. The food was delicious. I had the vegetable stacked that was made of grilled vegetables and goat cheese. It was delicious. I had a fun evening and I would visit this restaurant again.
As always a wonderful meal and service. My favorite meal ever is their tempura fried shrimp.. you get 4 and they are the size of and tastes like lobster tail. Order them with drawn butter and it’s heaven. Our friends had the scallops and loved them. Mark, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. One of our favorite restaurant. JJ
The bar and music are the strong points here, great live entertainment and I plan on returning for the music. The restaurant is where we sat for dinner. The service was somewhat attentive, the food was not memorable.. I had the pear and Gorgonzola salad and it tasted like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for a few days, I only got through a quarter of it. The onion flower appetizer was okay. For the price, I would expect better quality. Go for the music in the bar, skip the food.
Random associations with Santa Fe, NM and Pasadnea, CA: if you know Smitty's of Pasadena, CA---this is its desert cousin without the bean dip. Food presentation is thoughtful and appetizing. The liver, bacon and onions are worth considering; artichokes in season--include a superb handcrafted mayonnaise garnish. Found it curious how little of the interior at Vicky's reminds one of Santa Fe.
Been going here every winter golf season for several years now. This year they changed the dinner menu for the worse. Fewer choices and overpriced for what you get. Love the live music on Friday nights. Will dine elsewhere and come after dinner for the live music.
Although the reviews were promising; unfortunately, the restaurant was not to my liking, food over cooked & extremely salty, & very loud atmosphere with tables situated like a eatery diner rather than a restaurant. The rack of lamb was flavorless & the chicken was very small & over cooked. Our waitress was the best thing at the restaurant - thank you Carla for trying.
My wife & I had dinner here as it was close to our hotel & the reviews were good. We enjoyed the ambiance but didn’t find the meal a good value. Our salmon was good but you had to pay extra for vegetables or potatoes, etc. as side dishes. I would try somewhere else next time.
We truly LOVE everything about the restaurant! Decor is southwest our favorite and food is fabulous. Tanya our server took excellent care of us. We were seated in a dining room far enough away from the live music that conversations could be had. Faye the bartender is a truly lovely lady and recognized us and welcomed us, even though we didn't sit at the bar last Friday night.
So glad we decided to try this restaurant. Drove by several times and decided to check them out online. Fabulous menu! I had sand dabs, perfect! My husband had the scallops, beautifully prepared and delicious. Our waitress, Karla was exceptional. Attentative, but not over bearing. She was very friendly and made our dining experience enjoyable. I'd definitely come back when in town next. 5 star experience!
