Vicky's of Santa Fe Ratings and Reviews
Although the reviews were promising; unfortunately, the restaurant was not to my liking, food over cooked & extremely salty, & very loud atmosphere with tables situated like a eatery diner rather than a restaurant. The rack of lamb was flavorless & the chicken was very small & over cooked. Our waitress was the best thing at the restaurant - thank you Carla for trying.
My wife & I had dinner here as it was close to our hotel & the reviews were good. We enjoyed the ambiance but didn’t find the meal a good value. Our salmon was good but you had to pay extra for vegetables or potatoes, etc. as side dishes. I would try somewhere else next time.
We truly LOVE everything about the restaurant! Decor is southwest our favorite and food is fabulous. Tanya our server took excellent care of us. We were seated in a dining room far enough away from the live music that conversations could be had. Faye the bartender is a truly lovely lady and recognized us and welcomed us, even though we didn't sit at the bar last Friday night.
So glad we decided to try this restaurant. Drove by several times and decided to check them out online. Fabulous menu! I had sand dabs, perfect! My husband had the scallops, beautifully prepared and delicious. Our waitress, Karla was exceptional. Attentative, but not over bearing. She was very friendly and made our dining experience enjoyable. I'd definitely come back when in town next. 5 star experience!
Nice change of pace with a really good band and dancing. Food gave me a stomach ache in the middle of the night but I'd eat there again. Only negative is that we sat at the bar and every time the door opened, we could smell smoke coming in from outside. I'd make it so that the patrons have to move further away to smoke.
We enjoyed our dinner at Vickys. The waitress was very attentive even though she had many tables. We were sorry that the restaurant was closing for the summer but will get back there in September when it opens again. The bar area is large with lots of seating and they had a live band. My husband and i got our groove on. It was a very enjoyable evening.
We had not eaten previously at this restaurant, views from Hwy, interesting Santa Fe style architecture and live music, so chose Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week to give it a try. Bar area was pretty full, live band was LOUD Rock genre and not that great, so we asked for table that was as far away from music as possible, seated us in an area that met our expectations but still music was loud. Food was reasonably priced but entrees were cool/ warm, not hot, and meal was rather bland. Horses for courses, not for us but many diners seemed to be happy.
One will be hard-pressed to find better service than we got at this fine dinner place. It is a joy to find true professionals serving in a restaurant these days and Vicky's is worth your time just to see how it used to be in most dining rooms. No chirpy youngster whispering his name and saying "Hi guys" and if you ask how a dish is, the reply is, "Awesome". No one says, "I'll be taking care of you this evening" as if the place is a babysitting operation.
It's worth a trip to Vicky's to see how top quality, grown-up service is done. Our server was Tonya and she is outstanding. She has also worked here for some time, which says a lot about the management being able to keep excellent workers on the staff.
And, it is worth coming here for the food. The food is really good and the chef knows what he or she is doing. The Restaurant Week dinner Menu offers four appetizers, five entrees, and two deserts. There is also a good wine list with three decent wines from Silver Ridge.
We had the wedge salad (excellent) and the chilled avocado soup, which was rich & creamy. Entrees were the pan seared scallops & the short ribs on mashed potatoes. Both dinners were perfectly prepared and delicious and sized right.
For dessert we had one of each item: the brioche bread pudding and a very good chocolate cake. I preferred the bread pudding, which is hard to do right, and this version is very good. The chocolate cake is also good, but my vote goes to the bread pudding
took advantage of $29 3 course dinner options during RestaurantvWeek & were very pleased. Good variety, full portions nicely presented & delicious . The only drawback is the noise level - hard for 4 people to hear each other( could really only chat 1:1 without yelling. Our female server was delightful, sorry her forgot her name.
It was restaurant week here in the Coachella Valley. The restaurant was very busy.
We were a party of 4. The first table we were brought to was in an open area.
Upon request, our table was changed to another room and a quiet corner.
We had a wonderful, friendly, efficient wait person.
Excellent dining experience
Beautiful Santa Fe architecture, great value for restaurant week $18 bottle of Silver Ridge Pinot noir, great attentive waitress, short ribs were very, very good, bread pudding a la mode good too. Valet parking is free, poor valets were in 100 degree heat at 7pm, tip them generously.
We come here for Happy Hour and the appetizers were always great, so we thought we would come for the prix fix and try their dinner menu. My husband's meal was cold and I found my carrots were very undercooked. The service was great as usual but I don't think I would come back for dinner again.
