Viceroy Grille Ratings and Reviews
Another great experience at Viceroy. We were celebrating our anniversary, so we’re hoping for a special night. We started off with French 75 cocktails, oysters and the smoked salmon appetizer. All were fantastic and Nicole’s service was impeccable. I had the roasted beet salad and flash fried Brussels sprouts as my entree and my husband had the roasted chicken. All were made to perfection and nicely presented. The Willamette Valley Pinot was the perfect pairing. Nice, quiet place where you can actually carry on a conversation. Beautifully-decorated room...warm and understated. A wonderful night.
Nice, quiet atmosphere. Excellent service. I highly recommend the flash-fried Brussels sprouts for a side dish. My only complaint would be the bread service- the bread was seriously lacking in salt- but nothing a little salt shaker couldn’t fix. Overall, a pleasant experience. Plan to return in the near future. Be sure to visit the O Bar on the top floor of the hotel before you leave!
Food was very tasty. There was a special menu advertised but there was nothing about it on their website. When we arrived there was no printout of the menu or mention of it until we asked about specials. The "New Orleans style brunch" was just the regular menu plus 3 "specials". No cream or sugar was brought to the table with coffee. They were fairly empty, but rarely checked on us. I'd eat there again but I wouldn't make a special trip there unless I was staying very near.
We came here for brunch, had really high hopes for the food but unfortunately was let down. The brunch menu looked promising but the food was just subpar. The banana bread French toast was super dry. The crab cake Benedict was decent. Our waitress was attentive but the service couldn’t help the food.
Another perfect evening at Viceroy: confident, unobtrusive service, knowledgeable servers, romantic atmosphere, and delicious food. My husband said his wellfleet oysters were among the best he’s tasted, my salmon was cooked perfectly, the creamed spinach rivaled the steakhouse version...this little jewel box of a restaurant is becoming our go-to for date night. Visit the O-bar upstairs to cap off a beautiful evening.
A nice room, very warm and attractive. The salmon salad highlight was the salmon, chunks that had been glazed and were cooked just right, so I didn't complain that there were onions on the salad although I had asked the waitperson to delete them at the time of ordering. The apple crisp was good, but the raisins too hard.
The Christmas Day Prix Fixe dinner was amazing! Mushroom soup with black truffle for a starter, followed by a lovely salad, leading up to the beef tenderloin served with bacon roasted Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Even the dinner rolls were exceptional. We were too full to enjoy our caramel apple pie, so took it home to eat later. The food and service could not have been any better.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas dinner with friends at Viceroy Grille. They courteously and efficiently accommodated our last minute additional guest with only a few hours notice. Our table was big enough for comfortable eating and conversation, and the service was friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. The food was absolutely delicious! The mushroom truffle soup was my favorite, although it was hard to choose a favorite. The salad was crisp and lightly dressed rather than drowned in dressing. There were four entrees to choose from, and the three chosen by our table were all excellent. My salmon was a nicely cooked center cut, with pecan crust over quinoa, and was moist but not raw--just like I like it. My friend's prime rib was huge, cooked perfectly for her. The turkey entree with dressing and brussels sprouts was moist and tender, and the desserts were irresistible.
Excellent restaurant! Second time to celebrate Christmas here. This year the service was less stellar. We were seated immediately, and was comfortable and quiet. However, several parties arrived and began to drink, and the more they drank the louder they became. I know that this is a difficult situation for restaurants, and I do try to be understanding. But, we were not able to hear or own conversation during the last 1/3 of the dinner. Management should have asked them to quiet down or stopped serving the booze.
This is a 5 star restaurant, not a bar and grill.
Last year we had an excellent waitress, VICKIE, she was charming and was there to take care of our every need. And was one of the primary reasons we came back this year. She even remembered us a year later, when we stopped to talk to her.
This year, we were not so fortunate. While our waitress seemed to be doing as well as she could. She was constantly pushing us through the meal, and then had others bring the food and check on us as we finished each course. We were served luke warm coffee twice, had to ask for bread instead of it being offered, and even argued with me about the appropriateness of au-jus with the prime-rib.
She finally said she would check with the chef to see if he could make au-jus. A few minutes later a different waiter served the drippings to the table in one big bowl, even though 4 of the 6 of us had been served the steak. There were a few more blunders, but the point being, she was too inexperienced to )l
serve as waitress in this level of restaurant.
This was a very important dinner for me to host, and my guests were gracious, but I was embarrassed.
I am still going to give this restaurant another try in a little while, but will definitely wait until Vickie can serve us, as I know that the service will be on par to the food.
was Christmas day so mostly set four course menu. soup was cold with dehydrated mushrooms. salad was ok nothing of note. i chose prime rib for entree. correct temp but very thin portion lacking flavor. garlic whipped potatoes were a flavorless dry heap. french green beans was highlight of the entree plate but would not order by choice. many better places in okc particularly at that price point.
We always enjoy coming to Viceroy for our holiday meals. We celebrated Thanksgiving here and had to come back for Christmas. It was a wonderful experience from entrance to exit. Patrick, our server, made it an incredible meal, from his rapport and his knowledge. He made terrific suggestions and was just so personable. The Christmas meal was delicious! My fiancé had the salmon and I had the Prime Rib and they both were delicious. Everything from the soup to salad to main course and entree were perfection. Thank you, Viceroy!! Can’t wait to see you again.
Best dining experience I’ve had living in OKC thus far. Matthew was our server and was fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable, could hold his own in any restaurant I’ve been served at in Houston, LA, or New York.
Be be going back to and would highly recommend.
I felt like I was in NYC. Varied and diverse menu. At little pricey. My steak was excellent. Perfectly prepared. I liked being able to chose from multiple sauces and sides. I had never had grilled beets before and they were great.
We went upstairs to bar and enjoyed the view and brandy ice was perfect.
We will be back.
This was our first visit to Viceroy Grille. Our group had gone to see the Nutcracker then out to eat. We got there early, but they were very welcoming and made us very comfortable. There were three adults, a teenager and 2 children. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant and very comfortable. We were all made to feel very special. My children and grandchildren were thrilled with the whole experience. Food delicious, service amazing. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
The atmosphere was very nice and the service was excellent. In all fairness, there were six of us in our party and I was the only one who had an issue with my meal. The scallops I had were way too salty to eat and the Caesar salad was mediocre. The prices are high so I was very disappointed. I most likely will not go back.
Matthew did a great job as well as the other person waiting on us. Matthew specifically had great energy and enthusiasm as he explained wine pairings and that sort of thing. The place is very quaint and overall quiet. I recommend it to those who are wanting a more intimate atmosphere. The food was also great. Personally the lighting was a tad bright (at least when we were there). Overall a great spot for a date, higher end meeting, or intimate setting for discussion/catching up.
Love this place for anniversary and special occasion type affairs. The service is always top notch. The food is always amazing and the specials are always appealing. This is a hidden 5 star gem of a restaurant that for the life of me I can't figure out why is never busy. Love this place and can't say enough about it.
We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Viceroy for the 2nd year in a row. The 4 courses are amazing, and the options for main entree will satisfy everyone’s tastes. Everything was so delicious, and our server, Zack, was so personable and did a great job. All of the staff in both the restaurant and the hotel were wonderful.
Food was excellent and the service was attentive and smart. My only complaint is that the coffee and the food were all served warm, rather than hot. Nevertheless, I will go back because of the quality of the food and the superior service.
It was refreshing to eat at a restaurant that understood the importance of eating slowly and enjoying the dining experience with friends.
Keep up the good work!
