Had a friendly and attentive waiter, Jared. He recommended the tasting menu for our party of 6 with wine pairings. The Tuscan tasting menu had good portions and was beautifully plated and thoughtfully seasoned. It was my birthday and they brought a delicious upside down pineapple cake topped with a candle. We also sat outside and it was a great atmosphere to spend a night celebrating with friends. At the end of the night, the executive chef, Brian Bournmann came to speak to us and took a picture. A splendid evening!
Everything was good. My only comment is when I asked for a second glass of Pinot Grigio, the waiter forgot about it. The restaurant has great food and atmosphere. I would expect the service to be the same.
Decent. Nothing to write home about.
Please tell Francois "thank you for another perfect evening".
Food was amazingly good. Service was great. I love great tasting food and this was amazing, I will be coming back for sure.
This was our first time at the place. We read The Hollywood Reporter List of New Best Places in LA and decided to make a reservation. We arrived at 845 and we weren’t served dinner until well past 10. Service was extremely backed up. It even took them 45 minutes to serve us a glass of wine. We ordered the recommendation (fried rice, lasagna bolognese and tagliatelle with rabbit). Food was ok but we had much better pastas in other places in LA at a much better price. It was a bit overpriced for what it was. Place is lovely though. Great location. Ambience is energetic so you need to speak a bit loud to have a conversation.
Wonderful service, our waiter was hilarious and very sweet.
Value for the money is not there. Paying the price you pay for a meal such as pasta was a small cup if at best. The food we had tasted great. Service and venue were great but lacks in value spent.
We arrived early for our reservation and ordered drinks at the bar while the host picked out a table. The bartender could not have been less interested in us, more focused on lighting candles throughout the bar area. He was absolutely clueless and belongs in another restaurant that doesn't care about guest service. It was literally comical to watch him ignore us and spend all his focus on lighting tea-light candles. He never made one of our three drinks. The host came by and took us to a table which turned out to be a few feet from the bar and not at all appropriate for the dinner reservation we had made. I immediately they find a table in the dining room for us and they were quick to make the change. But why even think of putting us in the bar area? Ridiculous. In the end, Viale dei Romani had great food and our server Matthew was fantastic. The two early incidents did not prevent me from pointing out the good things about this restaurant but advice to the manager: Fix these other problems. They are easy to fix and do not bode well for your restaurant if not rectified.
The salmon was not cooked. I looked really really bad in front of my kosher date. It is a beautiful restaurants and the service was amazing but the food was awful!
Restaurant is in the La Peer hotel so parking is no problem. The cuisine is Italian but one I've never experienced. The service was excellent and the waiter gave excellent advice and information. Great food, friendly professional service.
The food was over salted, under cooked and way overpriced. I was disappointed as I heard really good things
Food, ambiance and service were all perfect! Such a great new addition to the West Hollywood neighborhood.
Terrific service, pasta, branzini and salted caramel gelato to die for. Beautiful interior. Low noise level. Great parking.
We had the best exerpience here. The food was absolutely incredible but what made our visit that much better was having Adam as our server and Francios pairing our wines to our meal. We were blown away by Adam and Francois’s hospitality and knowledge. I wish we lived closer so we could dine here more often.
Way too loud. We had to yell at each other to have a normal conversation
Other than the hostess putting us next to the door initially with an empty restaurant it was a lovely night. We moved into the main dining room. It seems being two females at dinner is a curse, that you have to negotiate for a decent table
Beautifully well appointed restaurant with excellent staff. Food was slow out of the kitchen but was good. Stunning hotel above we ate on a quiet lunch time but would go back for dinner to explore the menu further
Exceptional food, lovely setting, and service was the best I've had in years...you definitely get the sense that the people working there care about each and every person and love what they are doing. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Parents visiting, celebrating
We only had one problem and that was although most plates were $16-$35 at the last minute we were encouraged to add on a pizza and we didn’t ask the price-mistake. It was the best flat bread pizza I’ve ever had in my life however it was $45 for six pieces. We felt we should’ve been told about the price in addition only because I asked about the level of alcohol in the mix drinks did I find out they were using top top shelf unless you asked otherwise. My only other thing to mention is that it’s very very very noisy. It’s a small restaurant in the hotel and I would start out the dinner by having drinks out on the patio and then come in for dinner knowing it’s going to be very loud. I would easily go back and just have two of the small plates and be very happy.
Service and ambiance is excellent but the Italian food was subpar.
The food was really delicious, the ambiance is very energetic and smooth.
Excellent overall. We all shared everything (there were 4 of us), started with 2 crudos and an eggplant app. The crudos were outstanding. We then moved on to the pasta, the bolognese and the squid pasta, which again proved to be wonderful. We ended the meal with one of the meat dishes and a side of the cannelloni beans. No dessert, but very good espressos (although, they did not have the correct spoon size for the small espresso cups).
Pretty subpar experience from the start for what this restaurant is supposed to be. We didn’t get seated for 10 minutes despite having reservations, no big deal. But not being attended to for 15 minutes is after being seated. Our waiter was patronizing from the start as he “explained” food and wine. We ordered drinks, and I watched my cocktail sit and collect condensation for 15 minutes on the bar. He finally remembered, brought that and my girlfriend’s rosé out. However he brought it in a large red wine glass, they have to do better.
The food as well was decent, nothing incredible. He did choose to explain one thing, which was the amazing goat milk mozzarella they use. Which is standard for Neapolitan style...? But our waiter made it seem like they found the cure for cancer.
Also their Yelp is misleading. Lots of negative reviews but still 4.5 stars, something smells fishy to me.
A relative visiting from out of town was staying at the hotel, so we all met there for dinner. Lovely dining room, with a very pleasant vibe. Service was great. Got there rather early, so restaurant wasn't too loud, but as the evening got later, it definitely got louder. Dinner menu was interesting. Grilled octopus was fabulous. Place is rather pricey for the smallish portions, albeit quality of ingredients.
Overly self-conscious take on Italian food. Every dish seemed to have one ingredient that was off the mark with the exception of the taglarini which was excellent. The staff was very accommodating.
Wonderful pizza, Kale Salad and Chicken Paillard all very very good. Beautiful design and build out - and know it was expensive - which I appreciate but the price tab for lunch (without alcohol) is too high - especially as you look to build business.
A real gem hidden away in West Hollywood. There is absolutely nothing bad about this place. Great food, exceptionally friendly and efficient service (without the attitude), spectacular decor, and excellent wine list.
Great service. Food was solid. Nice ambiance. A tad over priced but in line with location
Service was great - server was very attentive and friendly. Food quality was amazing - the ravioli & branzino was quite the treat. One thing that was missing was that I noted that it was my anniversary and it was not acknowledged - since I took the time to write that, I would have hoped someone would have mentioned it (a "happy anniversary" would have sufficed) but nobody said anything about it. Still a great time and would recommend for a date or friends' get-together.
Great meal......they are a very well run place
Haven’t eaten meat in 15 years. Asked the server if one of the pizzas that was a special and not on the menu had meat - she assured us multiple times it didn’t. We got it, it was dark, started eating - and it’s covered in bacon. How do servers not know the menu? We were disgusted. Left and never going back.
This restaurant is a triumph!! Phenomenal cuisine in a warm modern environment. Absolutely delightful!
Smart restaurant in a nicely done hotel. The food was at best average. $36 for a sub standard pizza pie which we ordered based on our server’s recommendation was a low point.
Love the pomodoro pasta and the endive salad
It is a beautiful hotel and a charming restaurant. We were lucky to be seated on the patio and it was quiet and romantic. The food was delicious. We will definitely go again!
This was the second time I was here! Love love love the food.
Food was just okay....expected it to be on a par with Cecconi's. Think they are trying to hard. The marguerita pizza was the best entree...chicken paillaird overly grilled and burnt top and too thick and pasta was too small a portion but overcooked and red sauce strange.
Dessert was very good pineapple upside down cake but it is hard to eat a bad dessert.
Beautiful restaurant. Lovely decor and artwork
