Viale dei Romani
Inspired first by trips to the Mediterranean coasts, our cuisine highlights the principles of Italian cooking with broader Southern French and North African influences. The rich and far reaching culinary history of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, and the Moorish impact on the southern European Coast likewise influence our offerings with highlights including wood-fired seafood, raw fish preparations, hand rolled pasta, world class pizza, notable items such as the traditional chickpea crêpe ceccina, pasta alla piastra, chicken tagine and various fried rice dishes.
Excellent in all accounts
Service, food, ambiance were all excellent! Pastas #todiefor. Rabbit pizza was also very food.
Food and service was mediocre. I wouldn’t go back again.
Great food, excellent waiter and nice ambience. I have been before and I would cretainly return.
Adorable Italian restaurant tucked into the new La Peer Hotel. They make a wonderful branzino and the three course lunch “special menu” was reasonable and delicious. Lots of a la carte options. Very personal and nice service.
Was amazing ! Food is excellent!
We went there to celebrate our 33rd anniversary with our 3 adult children. We let them know about our special occasion before hand. They did not do ANYTHING to make our night special. The deserts were brought out with no note on the cake or the plate which is done in any regular restaurant and none of the desert was compt. This really made me upset.
Was one of our favorites from opening until Wednesday night. Something has changed and not for the better. Food was fine though not delicious- sometimes a more straightforward preparation would be appreciated. Our server was fine but a little intrusive. She interrupted frequently and needs to learn how to read the table better. Interruptions asking about the food may server her purposes but not the guests - if there is something wrong with the food, she'll know soon enough. Did not detect any management presence of oversight.
The energy present in frequent previous visits was missing. Music playlist needs work and the fake plants above the bar and on shelves were off-putting. If real plants can't be maintained then come up with a different design element. The overall design and detail of the space is excellent but diminished by the fake greenery.
A few weeks back, my wife brought friends for Sunday breakfast and it was a complete disaster. Understaffed, again no management present and the staff that was there was poorly trained and stressed to the max.
I was thinking about having a fairly large party outside this summer but have to reconsider.
Love this restaurant. I have had two lunches and two dinners over the past 3 weeks and I'm ready to book again. It is now my go-to place. Great cocktails, wine list, food, service and ambience. Tables are not too close together. Seriously ticks all the boxes for me.
It's a beautiful restaurant for starters. Our waitress was spectacular and the food was incredible. We had the branzini and it was perfection. The waitress told us about the lasagna which apparently they don't keep on the menu because they run out of it so quickly. It was paper thin multi layers of homemade lasagna with their Bolognese in between the layers. It was incredible. We had a glass of their only Chardonnay which we loved. And the waitress recommended rice pudding. She said it was very popular. I wondered to myself how the heck good can rice pudding be. But after the first bite I discovered how good rice pudding could be. I don't know what the heck they put in that stuff but both my friend and I couldn't believe how delicious it was. Now we're going to make our rounds to the other two restaurants owned by the same Chef. I can't wait to see what those are all about.
Waited a bit longer for orders, everything else was fantastic.
Really beautiful boutique hotel and nice service. Great value for the amount of food but the food is a little too salty.
Been wanting to try this place and took advantage of DineLA. Great good. The calamari was perfect, and the pinna cotta was perfect.
Excellent Dine L.A. experience. Food was carefully prepared, delicious and thoughtfully served. Portions were generous; excellent value for the money. Loved the chickpea wrap with a simple and delicious avocado filling. Branzino in a butter lemon sauce was fabulous. Pasta was lovely and desserts were unique--we shared a lovely panna cotta with fresh apples and a rice pudding with cranberry and granola topping. Our female server (forgot her name!) knew the menu well, asked the right questions and made helpful suggestions.
The restaurant has an open and airy feel, and we did not feel rushed.
It was a birthday lunch I will never forget!
Great service and food!
Very slow service
Booked a reservation after I saw them on the news, wanted to try their famous 100-layer lasagna. It was our Anniversary so we drove from the South Bay to find they didn't have lasagna on the menu on Saturday night! Was so disappointed but what made it worse was the server told both his managers but we never saw anyone, no apology, nothing. My husband ordered Affogato, was half a scoop in a large cup which was served with a quiet Happy Anniversary from the server. I don't expect much but comp the anorexic scoop as an apology or as a courtesy anniversary - I guess that was too much to ask.
The meal was great! For a restaurant that talks about making everyone feel welcomed- I didn't feel it at all!! The hostess was not pleasant or welcoming!! The rest of the staff did not seem that excited to be there either!! Such a shame- hopefully they make some changes of the team fast!!
What a treat. Had no idea this restaurant, tucked away in a lovely hidden hotel on LaPeer, even existed. Food was delicious and energetic crowd. A real step above the usual fare on Canon.
Fabulous. I went there for lunch last week and was impressed by the food & service, so I thought that I would try for dinner. Took 4 mates and we went right through the menu. Superb. Really good bar man and waiter. Interesting wine list with a few gems. I will 100% return.
Went for Saturday lunch, but they only had a brunch menu. Nevertheless, exceptional service, a clear attention to detail and great training happening in the kitchen as each dish was fine tuned and delicious. The rabbit sausage pizza a clear stand out for our entire party. The dining room is beautiful and opulent. Excited to try for dinner
Great good and service. Prob best pizza in la!
Wonderful food and beautiful space. The promise of the "best lasagna " fell short. Far from the best I have had other places. The branzino, scallops, pizza are all near perfection. Stunning design. The music started out at the perfect volume but got too loud during the evening. Will definitely be returning.
Food was terrible , hated the lack of atmosphere. Terrible evening.
Terribly disorganized. servers all tried but bad service nonetheless
The best pasta - perfectly al dente, great ragu sauce. Their grilled octopus melts in your mouth.
Phenomenal and very attentive service.
I always have such a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. This place is the perfect gem to impress anyone from a date night to a business dinner.. it’s an outstanding and classy spot.
The food tasted good but a little on the heavier side. I personally had a tough night after eating at vdr. Maybe the flavors were a bit too elaborate for my taste. Definitely not your regular/normal italian restaurant, more of a fusion and definitely a more alternative version of "Italian" cuisine.
The waiters were very sweet and the service was attentive.
Excellent meal from appetizer to pizza to entre.
Delightful setting and we are destined to return very soon for a repeat outstanding culinary experience.
We loved the food and decor of the place, and our server Matthew was extremely delightful and helpful going through all the different options and guiding us through a fantastic dinner
It was amazing
The service was excellent and the food was good. It was a little pricey.
I was disappointed that when we checked in for our reservation the hostess put a time limit on our table. It kind of put an undue pressure on our whole dining experience and frankly ruined the dinner. We weren't informed of the time limit when making our reservation and probably would have picked somewhere else to have dinner had we known upfront when making the reservation.
Tried this place for the first time, and I will definitely be coming back. The branzono is perfectly cooked with a crispy skin, with a delicious sauce. The fig bruschetta really pops, and the pizzas all have a flavorful crust with just the right “chew” to it. And you MUST have the chocolate pot de creme for dessert.
We liked at everything! My drink of mezcal had just the right amount of kick . The avocado appetizer was a unique take on guacamole and tasted perfect. We're also tried the steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The pot de creme desert was a little too rich.. the ambiance was great..
This is possible our favorite Italian in LA now. An exciting menu because it really reflects flavors of Italy. Dishes that aren't in every other Italian restaurant in the US. Bravo to the chef and owner!
Wonderful and great and friendly staff. Chris is helpful
I enjoy going all the time.
Horrible experience overall. We had a confirmed reservation for dinner and still had to wait for one hour to get a table. We were a party of three and they sat us in a table for two. It took another 40 minutes to get a proper table for dinner, which we only got after following up with the maitre d’ who was rude and unapologetic. The food was mediocre and service was lackluster.
Had dinner to celebrate a birthdate had a great time, good food, great service and great wine
