Menu is limited. For example, they have a wood burning pizza oven, but on the night we were there, they offered only 3 pizzas. One was with rabbit and the other two were not your basic pizzas. Everything seems to have to be different for the sake of being different. Not for the quality of the dish. Very LA! I love a wood oven but most of the wood oven options were for 2 people. I had the clam show. One of my favorite dishes is linguini claims. I guess, to be different, they did spaghetti. There were 4 very small disappointing clams. I have had better for half of this price with 12 clams.
Excellent food! Our pizza, endive salads, branzino and halibut ALL DELICIOUS. Will definitely go back.
I was looking forward to dining at this restaurant as I heard from friends that the food was great. Also I had a wonderful dining experience a few months ago at the new kimpton in Palm Springs a few months prior.
The ambiance is loud which causes all the diners to speak louder creating a cacophony of noise and making it difficult to hear.
There was a lack of friendliness from the host and our waiter. The bus boys were much more friendly and kind. It translated into a less than welcoming experience. The only conversation from the waiter was to ask if we were ready to order and to take our order. Non of the usual banter asking if we had been here before or if we were here for a special occasion. When I booked the reservation through the open table app I did indicate that I was here for my birthday.
Drinks were good. Recommended dishes have a star next to them so we tried the smoked eggplant dish. It comes out looking like a plate of hummus. I did not taste a smoky flavor in the dish. It was pretty lackluster. The pita bread they served on the side also had a mushy wet consistency. As if it was frozen and they warmed it up in the oven. We also ordered the pardon pepper appetizer with blood oranges. This was like a sweet shishito pepper dish with blood orange mixed it. Again ok but not spectacular. For the main dish we went with the worlds best bolognese and the tagliatelle. The bolognese was good. Interesting presentation with ribbons of thick noodles stacked on top of each other and the top broiled. Parts of the tagliatelle pasta however were not cooked all the way and it was Luke warm. It was so loud in the restaurant I couldn’t hear my date complain about it. So by the time I tried it he had eaten half of it. I gave him my bolognese because I felt bad. We let the waiter know about this when he came to check to see if we wanted dessert.
Dessert was the best part of the meal. A chocolate pot de creme which the which the waiter comped b/c of the tagliatelle.
Such an amazing place to eat and menu is always changing. Service always on point.
Food was exceptional! Over all service was good but could approve.
One of the best experiences I have had dining in Los Angeles. The service was friendly and steps of service were detailed.
The dishes were creative and ingredients you could taste the freshness and choice in the sourcing.
The presentation was stunning and every ingredient played a roll in the dish. All the dishes were fresh light and complex.
The halibut was one of the best I have ever had.
I can’t wait to come back.
Love this place ... added new gem.
My favorite restaurant is Los Angeles, amazing food with new flavors and not your typical Italian.
Our favorite (no longer) secret spot!
Top notch. Food was spectacular- top class wine list. Crudos were sensational. Unique vegetables dishes, beautiful pastas. We also shared the steak and it was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend
Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in all of Los Angeles. The service was great, food was outstanding, and all at a reasonable price. Not to mention delicious cocktails.
They ran out of the House favorite at 8pm. Service was really bad - and a huge disconnect between kitchen and staff. Would not go again.
Food delicious, ambiance very hip. A great find, and a wonderful addition to the WeHo dining scene.
This will be my temple. Will never forgot what happened there.
Food was excellent, love the avocado salad with the savory crepe.
Interior design is well done--definitely prefer the restaurant decor over the lobby.
It's warm and inviting & the dining chairs are comfortable. Wait staff is very attentive.
One complaint...my favorite table is the 2-top near the entry...but, at night all the headlights from the cars coming into/exiting the driveway shine right into your eyes.
Have the Designer select a traversing Drapery to cover this during the evening.
Or add some planters (outside) in front of the window to shield from the headlight glare.
The service in this Restaurant was top notch! They wait staff was extremely attentive and helpful with the food choices. The menu has some different and creative dishes that we liked. We would definitely return there again.
Great service and recommendations from the waitstaff. Ambience is nice. Food was great!
The design/decor of this place is absolutely beautiful and everything we ordered was delicious. This place will not disappoint!
In a nutshell ? Excellent all around
Beautiful atmosphere & great food
We celeberated our 24th anniversary there and they were very welcoming and attentive. Thank you!
3 of us had lunch here. Restaurant not busy at all but service was terrible. Waiter unpleasant and when i asked for a substitution for a different vegetable he said he had to check with kitchen. Usually restaurants are accommodating to customers especially when spending $150 for lunch- not Viale. Food was ok but nothing special. In my opinion this certainly not one of the better Italian restaurants in LA. We all agreed we would not return, poor service, average food, and for the price much better more accommodating restaurants to dine at. Whoever owns this restaurant better evaluate who is managing this restaurant and who is training the servers otherwise doubt they will be around 6 months from now.
What a fantastic meal! Our expectations were drastically exceeded from the first bite to the last. We highly recommend this restaurant and are excited to watch it grow. Thank you for doing what you do!!
Love this place! It is fun and the food is divine. Great food and cocktails. Everyone is nice and helpful with the menu. Loved it all!
My girlfriend, who is from Milan, said "Of all the Italian restaurants in Los Angeles, this is the one that reminds me most of home. It's the best Italian food I've had in Los Angeles. Besides my own! The pasta was perfect, Felix could learn something from this place.
We had made a reservation thru open table. Arriving early, we were asked to wait at the bar. Not a problem. Our drinks had barely arrived when we were called to be seated. The young host tried to sit us (2) at a table adjoining a table with two young children crawling around the booth. I declined and volunteered to sit in the bar area which was empty. I asked to sit at a free standing table set for three but was told by the young host we need to sit at the banquette set for two. I asked if the table was reserved. It was not. Not less than 5 minutes later, he sat 2 women at the table for 3. This colored the entire meal for me. Thank god, Michael our waiter was excellent. My pasta with rabbit and sweetbreads was excellent as well. My companion:s mushroom ravioli was heavy and doughy and under cooked (not al dente).
I’m chalking up this experience to a opening debug. I liked the place but they better get competitive fast.
The hotel decor is impressive, very nice. The staff was nice. I can’t say I loved it but I can’t say I hated it either.
Our waiter poored my second glass of wine before I was done with my first glass. The halibut smelled so fishy I had to order another dish. The menu is very hard to understand, but our waiter seemed to know what he was talking about. He was also the bartender, so he wasn’t that on it.
I’m not sure I’d go back for the food but I’d definitely go back to enjoy the bar. The ambiance is really nice.
Great new restaurant, came here with my girlfriend for a date night. The food was excellent, we started with the scallops, and then followed it up with pasta. I had the rigatoni all'amatriciana and my girlfriend had the ravioli fonduta. Both were delicious, I was especially impressed with my rigatoni all'amatriciana. It's fairly difficult to find pasta all'amatriciana outside of Italy, let alone an amatriciana that is done well, and they nailed it. It was as good as or better than some you might find in Italy, which tells me they have an authentic Italian chef in charge of the menu. I look forward to returning.
we have a grate diner we have the crostini branzino and the lasagna and for dessert we have rice pudding we have a lot off fun
Beautiful venue- great design & decor, ambiance needs a little refinement. Lights were adjusted several times during dinner- made more noticeable because the kitchen area is so bright that most of the dining the room is very off-balance. Our waiters was still learning, 3 out of 4 courses we had to ask for plates or utensils to eat the dish already served. Noticed the table next to us had similar issues. The food was excellent; personally did not find the house special pancake tasty- oily and tuna was very cold, lacked flavor. While not original in their preparation, the seafood pasta, Branzino and Octopus dishes were all really good. Once they get the kinks worked out, will be a solid spot
Good food, not great but good. Good neighborhood spot for a drink or date.
Food is really good ..the Truffle Pizza, Cecci w lentils...perfect comfort food for cold night...rice pudding desert, not too sweet..great experience w food...service still coming along slowly. Will return!
Perfect for a date ! The food is incredible! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Overall , very nice. Service was very slow, however.
We ordered a starter salad and main course, but they brought the salad at nearly same time as main course. There was a LONG wait for salad course, and then main course arrived within a minute !! ( No bread course at all)
Perhaps growing pains??
Food not so good!
This won’t be a well kept secret for long. Food was extraordinary. Octopus was tender and had a bit of heat. Halibut was divine- fresh, green, and delicate. Sommelier knee exactly what we wanted and did not disappoint. Overall a great experience including atmosphere, service, and thoughtful food.
They’re still getting their sea legs but everything was delicious and I can’t wait to go back!
Lasagna to die for...almost a filo dough consistency, light and so flavorful, endive salad amazing as well!
As close to dining on the Amalfi Coast overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea as exists in the New World
Amazing experience and delicious food!
