Great Servuce - Amazing menu
Friendly and professional
I was very excited to try this place out since the hotel/restaurant opened recently in my neighborhood. The hotel and restaurant are gorgeous! I had gotten a drink at the bar a few weeks prior and noted at that time I wanted to try the restaurant. Made a reservation and was thoroughly looking forward to the experience. Upon arrival, I stood at the host podium for at least five minutes before I was greeted. Even though there was a group of employees standing just feet away. Nothing starts a hospitality experience like being ignored. Thanks to the waiter that ultimately did greet me, but didn't know how to check me in and seat me.
Our waiter was amazing and made up for most of the misgivings. But the food was as disappointing as the arrival greeting. I have a few "go to" meals that I eat whenever it's available. And pasta with clams is one of them. Although it was high-priced ($31) I was going to try it anyway. Small portion and very salty. And bread service for $4! At least they could have refilled it for that price!
Lastly, I had mentioned to the host and the waiter that greeted me that it was the birthday of one of my dining companions. When we ordered our dessert, there was no acknowledgement of the birthday. Maybe that's not something they do and I wasn't looking for anything free, but why go through the motions of taking notes about the occasion and then not do anything about it?
I really wanted to love this place and will probably go back; at least to the bar for sure. Hopefully, they are working out some kinks and they will ultimately be a staple in the neighborhood.
Superb. We enjoyed our fourth visit to Viale Dei Romani and our meal was delicious each time . Great atmosphere, wonderful service and a unique touch.
It is our spot now.
Thank you chef.
The service was absolutely horrible! Our server did not attend to us until 20 minutes after we were seated.. we ordered 3 items and it took an additional 45 min for our first entree to be served. The manager did approach us once to apologize and acknowledge the issue, however, he did not do anything to say he’s sorry to have us come back. We are not visiting this restaurant again!
Love this new dining option, drinks by the pool after
Best service i have ever received in my life
My mom’s birthday
For a touted five-star restaurant, our experience fell short. Long story, but it started with a reservation screw-up. Alerted the eatery it was a milestone b'day for my wife. We were given two little round tables pushed together. (Got a different table upon request). Menu is not extensive; we enjoyed our meals, but not off-the-charts. Telling everyone that you must pay $4 for "bread service"--that's a new one. Desserts were excellent, but we were told they were on the house--then we were charged for them. (Got that fixed too). Nonetheless, the place was packed with Beautiful People and quite loud for normal dining, so most things must be going right. We just didn't feel it the entire time. In a town with such varied opportunities, we wouldn't return anytime soon.
Not as good food wise as the first time I came for the opening. Overpriced but still pretty good. Love the staff here and really nice ambiance . Nice for a date or work dinner...
This is the second time we have been at the restaurant and it was terrific both times. Not a criticism, but just a notification. If you order the Dover sole it is not de-boned. It is fairly easy to do it yourself, but it is better to ask the server to do it in advance. Other than that, it is great for fish and pasta and the Hotel La Peer is hip and beautiful.
I made a reservation at Viale at the suggestion of a close friend that dines out frequently. He told me it was his new favorite. Viale dei Romani did not disappoint! The three of us dined on the Baby Kale & Spigarello Caesar Salad, Branzino, Wood Grilled Octopus, and the Pasta alla Piastra. We are a tough crowd to please and every single one of us was overwhelmingly satisfied. The only hiccup was our overzealously fussy server. Fortunately the food eclipsed his annoyances.
Great food in this stylish new Weho restaurant. I will definitely return!
Lovely decor, great atmosphere. Service much better at dinner than at lunch. There is something in the air very pleasing in this restaurant. Hard to define, but this restaurant is much more enjoyable than other restaurants of the same kind and price range in Los Angeles.
I don’t generally write reviews but after two visits I’m inspired to point this out. If you appreciate the highest level of food and service and are not concerned to open your wallet for an incredible experience this is one of the best restaurants you will find in LA. Absolutely plan to return again soon.
Wonderful new restaurant with unusual but user friendly food.
Great new restaurant in the Kimpton. Host was attentive and gracious. Bartenders made a killer old fashioned, the right way! It’s still a little slow so now is the time to go. Server (Claude) knew the menu well. Great recommendations. Wine list was not too overwhelming, still on the high side, but have middle road options. I’ll be back!
Everyone loved the food. Staff shortage resulted in slower than usual service.
Everything was very good, but the portions were small. I would have ordered more food had I known.
Food was terrible. We both got sick from the tuna and raw fish.
Perfect spot for friends ... thank you! Randi
Best pizza in the us!
The food was delicious and the room is beautiful. The server was excellent but the music is in speakers everywhere so there was no escaping it was pounding and for just two Of us, we had to shout to be hear each other. I asked our server if it could be lowered and he said he would ask but want encouraging
This is one of the places you have to try because you will fall in love. Amazing space, with great service, and outstanding food!
Great service, not a lot of gluten free choices. The room was very pretty but super loud.
The food was amazing and the service couldn't have been better. The general manager checked on us several times. It was also nice that we could hear each other as many restaurants blare the music or have horrible acoustics. I look forward to going back - and it is very convenient on 3rd street. Plus the restaurant is really beautiful.
Menu is limited. For example, they have a wood burning pizza oven, but on the night we were there, they offered only 3 pizzas. One was with rabbit and the other two were not your basic pizzas. Everything seems to have to be different for the sake of being different. Not for the quality of the dish. Very LA! I love a wood oven but most of the wood oven options were for 2 people. I had the clam show. One of my favorite dishes is linguini claims. I guess, to be different, they did spaghetti. There were 4 very small disappointing clams. I have had better for half of this price with 12 clams.
Excellent food! Our pizza, endive salads, branzino and halibut ALL DELICIOUS. Will definitely go back.
I was looking forward to dining at this restaurant as I heard from friends that the food was great. Also I had a wonderful dining experience a few months ago at the new kimpton in Palm Springs a few months prior.
The ambiance is loud which causes all the diners to speak louder creating a cacophony of noise and making it difficult to hear.
There was a lack of friendliness from the host and our waiter. The bus boys were much more friendly and kind. It translated into a less than welcoming experience. The only conversation from the waiter was to ask if we were ready to order and to take our order. Non of the usual banter asking if we had been here before or if we were here for a special occasion. When I booked the reservation through the open table app I did indicate that I was here for my birthday.
Drinks were good. Recommended dishes have a star next to them so we tried the smoked eggplant dish. It comes out looking like a plate of hummus. I did not taste a smoky flavor in the dish. It was pretty lackluster. The pita bread they served on the side also had a mushy wet consistency. As if it was frozen and they warmed it up in the oven. We also ordered the pardon pepper appetizer with blood oranges. This was like a sweet shishito pepper dish with blood orange mixed it. Again ok but not spectacular. For the main dish we went with the worlds best bolognese and the tagliatelle. The bolognese was good. Interesting presentation with ribbons of thick noodles stacked on top of each other and the top broiled. Parts of the tagliatelle pasta however were not cooked all the way and it was Luke warm. It was so loud in the restaurant I couldn’t hear my date complain about it. So by the time I tried it he had eaten half of it. I gave him my bolognese because I felt bad. We let the waiter know about this when he came to check to see if we wanted dessert.
Dessert was the best part of the meal. A chocolate pot de creme which the which the waiter comped b/c of the tagliatelle.
Such an amazing place to eat and menu is always changing. Service always on point.
Food was exceptional! Over all service was good but could approve.
One of the best experiences I have had dining in Los Angeles. The service was friendly and steps of service were detailed.
The dishes were creative and ingredients you could taste the freshness and choice in the sourcing.
The presentation was stunning and every ingredient played a roll in the dish. All the dishes were fresh light and complex.
The halibut was one of the best I have ever had.
I can’t wait to come back.
Love this place ... added new gem.
My favorite restaurant is Los Angeles, amazing food with new flavors and not your typical Italian.
Our favorite (no longer) secret spot!
Top notch. Food was spectacular- top class wine list. Crudos were sensational. Unique vegetables dishes, beautiful pastas. We also shared the steak and it was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend
Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in all of Los Angeles. The service was great, food was outstanding, and all at a reasonable price. Not to mention delicious cocktails.
They ran out of the House favorite at 8pm. Service was really bad - and a huge disconnect between kitchen and staff. Would not go again.
Food delicious, ambiance very hip. A great find, and a wonderful addition to the WeHo dining scene.
This will be my temple. Will never forgot what happened there.
