Via Vite Ratings and Reviews
Surprised that it was so crowded early on a Sunday evening. Liked the half price bottle of wine special because it made the somewhat pricey wine list more affordable. My special Cornish Hen feature was amazing but my husband's pasta dish was just so so. Since we were sitting next to where the food was brought out, which did not add to our dining experience, we could see other dishes easily. They appeared ordinary and over priced.
Great view of Fountain Square. Service a bit slow considering our reservation was at 9:30pm. Food was great. Recommend bacon wrapped pork and seared beef. Pizzas are ok. Creme Brulee was so-so. Music a little too loud, barely could hear my two friends at our small 4 top table. Tables are pretty crammed together, unless you are lucky to get a moon shaped booth. Over-all good. Great wine selection.
There were 8 of us on Saturday night and another couple showed up and they were able to join us for dinner. We had Aronoff tickets and our waitress was very attentive and made sure we got out in time. She also had our leftovers boxed and held for us so after the show we came back for drinks and picked up our food. Service was excellent late night also. Started out with our same waitress from dinner, but ended up with someone else. Not a problem, both were excellent.
We were not impressed at all. The selections were limited, and not up to previous visits for our group. To make matters worse, the wine I ordered tasted like it had been sitting out for days and there was grit on the greens in my salad! I can think of several restaurants the do Italian better than this and some of them aren't necessarily even classified as Italian Restaurants.
We came for the pizza. The Bianca was amazing; the buttery taste of the cheese was worth coming back for again and again. And then there is the Italian Sausage and Carmelized Onions!! Our party of four has decided we need to do a repeat visit very, very soon.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. He doesn't like trying new places, hates spending money on small portions, and is very particular about the way a restaurant is set up. So obviously going out can be a challenge. He loved everything about Via Vite. We went for brunch, it was delicious. The music was fun, the restaurant is decorated beautifully. My husband said he wants to make it a regular stop for us and our friends from now on.
This was my second trip to Via Vite, but first time going for lunch. The food was very good, but the service was really quite bad. We waited several mintues to be greeted, and then waited longer to place our orders. The salad arrived (the fabulous one with the goat cheese) and was wonderful, but it took forever to get refills of our water. The waiter cleared our plates and our silverware and then delivered our food. But never brought us any silverware. I got up and went to the server station to ask for someone to bring some and then a few minutes later someone did. Of course, by this point our pastas had cooled a bit.
The poor service really suprised me because my previous experience was so great. I doubt I'll be back for lunch.
Not a good place for a date. It was crowded, the table was long so I was far apart from my date. We couldn't really have a conversation due to this, and the fact that it was so loud. I felt like I couldn't talk without the people next to us overhearing. Food was decent but way overpriced.
Mixed review. Lamb shank w polenta..very nice. Penne bolognese was oversauced which created a Chef Boyardee-like orange gloop. Server was very sweet, young, but overly attentive. Took three trips to get the wine order right. Bar scene was moderate.. For a Friday night I was underimpressed.
This was my first time at Via Vite and I was impressed. I took my girlfriend for her birthday and not only did the food blow us away but the service was astonishing. Noise wise I never felt like I had to talk over anyone even though everyone in the restaurant was talking a couple could talk at a low level and still not struggle to hear each other. I would recommend Via Vite to anyone looking for a night out and I will be back
A bustling, energetic, eclectic crowd of young and middle-aged well-appointed, hip and business class patrons. The waiter was attentive, friendly, not overly solicitous - the right mix. Food was lovely and delicious, portions were just right. Hot things were hot.
The food was not very good- the pasta special barely had salmon included- basically a sprinkle of fish for $18 and the sauce was not that tastey. Something was off.
My wife's dinner looked and tasted like it was hamburger helper. Not very good.
I would recommend for appetizers and drinks because the view and ambience.
We went to Via Vita the evening before Valentine's Day. The restaurant was about 95% full the entire time; about 25% of the patrons were couples. The rest were small groups of friends, family or business folk. The restaurant is lovely, modern yet warm. This is not a place you should go to for a quiet, serious conversation as tables are rather close (although staged in a manner to give as much privacy as possible). Nor is it a place for young children who may wish to move about. The food was excellent. Tuna was prepared as we like-rare, and the rigatoni amartriciani was delightful. Service was wonderful. Overall, a great experience! Looking for an upbeat place to treat your taste buds? This is it!
This was our first time at Via Vite. We went for a Sunday Dinner to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The waitress was awesome, and everyone did a nice job of clearing our plates and keeping our waters filled. The food was great. We were amazed at the amount of food we were given. My appetizer Beef Carpaccio was reasonably sized, but my boyfriend got way more Caesar Salad than he expected. Also, his lettuce chunks were huge. I got the gnocchi which was great tasting, but was a lot. The pizza was enough for two people. We didn't know that and the menu wasn't great at letting you know how many it would serve. Chef...if you give us less in our portions, we would have gotten dessert. :) Everyone took home doggie bags that we saw.
The pasta special with wild boar was absolutely delicious. We were on a time crunch to get to the symphony, and the food was served very promptly. It was a Saturday night, and notably the noise level was quite high. It was challenging to hear my partner from a short distance across the table without shouting somewhat. The service was pleasant but not overly warm. We had a reservation for 18:30 and still weren't seated until 18:50, which added to some tension about making it to the symphony before 8. Would be helpful if they adhered to reservation times.
