Via Vite Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. The food is usually good and consistent. Parking isn't convenient since it is public parking under fountain square, I did not see valet service. We enjoyed the soup of the day, pastas, a flat bread and a reasonably priced bottle of wine. Compliments to our server. She was just the right amount of friendly, informative and helpful and attentive. Will go back again!
Absolutely loved the bolognese sauce. I could have just eaten a bowl of it without the pasta (although the pasta was cooked perfectly). The waiter told us they marinate the beef in wine. It was delicious. Also got the cioppino - which was delicious. my husband got the shrimp pasta which he loved. Can't wait to go back!
I hate to let this little secret out, but we dined upstairs and I enjoyed my experience so much more. It was quieter, but you could still hear the music from the Square. It was a treat fro our date-night to be able to talk and hear each other and not as many distractions.
We visited VaVite during restaurant week. It was again another delicious meal. As we ate our way through the courses, the food gained intense flavors. We completed our dinner with the luscious raspberry Panna Cotta. The service was excellent as all the staff is in tune to the diners. The owner/chef was out and about graciously greeting his customers. My husband and I look forward to our return. Thank you for a memorable experience.
The apps were very good. Soup and main pasta dishes were way to salty. Did not expect that from a place with this reputation. Waitress was very good, however we came for the food and were a little disappointed. Would most likely not recommend to my friends.
Great atmosphere and service and a nice ambiance once inside the restaurant (Fountain Square can have some sketchy characters around). I love how it feels you are sitting in the trees.
The bell pepper soup was fantastic, and the bianca pizza had a lot of flavor. But overall I did not find the food quality justified the price. We found a hard time finding a pasta dish that we both liked, but there are more options if you like seafood. We found the food very heavy, but still had a great time.
I absolutely loved my Penne pasta dish. My husband wasn't as crazy about his shrimp dish. (I can't remember the name of it.) We didn't find out until we left that the lasagna was the special that night. My husband would have LOVED that, but the waiter never mentioned any specials. Next time we will ask if the waiter doesn't offer.
Via Vite is the best! It is a very versatile restaurant that suits the needs of many types of diners. The layout is open and inviting, the food is unbelievable and they deliver it all with a gracious, charming service.
I've had important personal celebrations here, as well as serious business meetings, which is great as its in the middle of downtown. One of my favorite places to dine in Cincinnati.
quiet on a sunday evening. service was good. pepper pasta with shrimp au gratin was excellent. sunday was half-price wine night, so good value there although selection was fairly limited. flaky pastry dessert with caramel also excellent. my friend was very happy with lamb shank choice. good people watching on the square. no valet parking although it sits above fountain square parking garage.
We had a great time. Even we were late after my call the table was waiting for us and we appreciate that service. The food was tasty, fresh. The waitress and the staff were really nice with us. The ambiance: the lyric was a little bit loud. We enjoyed our diner before the event from CSO. Thank you
The staff was so nice! Our server was really helpful and had great recommendations. We ended up getting two of the things he recommended, and both were delicious. Our server had apologized for our food taking awhile (we didn't even feel like it had been that long) and the manager brought the food out to us herself. Great service, the staff is very knowledgable on the menu! Will definitely go back.
