Via Vite Ratings and Reviews
We made a reservation a couple of days ahead but while driving into town we called and asked to be seated at the Chef's counter which they did. I highly recommend it since you can watch the food prep and your meal is delivered immediately.
Unfortunately our waiter took 10 minutes to find us. Not sure if he had a big party or if he did not know we were there. After he showed up the remaining service was excellent: prompt and professional.
I had the braised lamb shank and it was one of the best meals I have ever had in a restaurant. The meat falls off the bone and is succulent. Don't miss this.
It appears that their pizza sauce comes from a jar and my wife thought her pizza was only mediocre.
Drinks and apps were great. Goat cheese/peppers bruschetta was superb.
Our meals were fantastic. The only downside to the dinner was the poor attention from our server. We arrived before the rush at 4:15, but we had a bottle of wine ordered that had gone bad. That required a wait for a new bottle...which was also bad. Then, the wait for the third bottle left us at 45 minutes seated before we ever got to order our meals. It was like we entered a black hole! Our waitress just disappeared for long patches of time.
Fortunately, the food was great and since I planned extra time in the schedule, we were still able to make our 6:30 show.
In town for one evening and used Open Table-as always-to find an Italian restaurant for a birthday party of three. We were seated promptly, service was excellent as was timing of courses.
Our server asked if we were seeing a show after so he could help us time our dinner. So thoughtful as we were in fact going to the Playhouse after.
Bread and butter were perfect and paired well with the recommended red wine special. We had the caramelized brussel sprouts to share, margherita pizza and red snapper. The snapper was amazing-skin was crisp and purée under was just right with some bean sprouts atop for a bit of freshness.
Would have gone back the next night and eaten the snapper and brussel sprouts again if we'd been in town.
Wonderful. Everything about this was excellent. Everyone was incredible and attentive. Ian was top notch. The artichokes - oh, so good - reason enough to eat there! ...and sorbet with prosseco - Delish! Great place to celebrate any occasion. New favorite place. Thank you Crossroads, for introducing us to this truffle-garlic- aromatically delightful place! #crossroads #thrive
We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. The food is usually good and consistent. Parking isn't convenient since it is public parking under fountain square, I did not see valet service. We enjoyed the soup of the day, pastas, a flat bread and a reasonably priced bottle of wine. Compliments to our server. She was just the right amount of friendly, informative and helpful and attentive. Will go back again!
Absolutely loved the bolognese sauce. I could have just eaten a bowl of it without the pasta (although the pasta was cooked perfectly). The waiter told us they marinate the beef in wine. It was delicious. Also got the cioppino - which was delicious. my husband got the shrimp pasta which he loved. Can't wait to go back!
I hate to let this little secret out, but we dined upstairs and I enjoyed my experience so much more. It was quieter, but you could still hear the music from the Square. It was a treat fro our date-night to be able to talk and hear each other and not as many distractions.
We visited VaVite during restaurant week. It was again another delicious meal. As we ate our way through the courses, the food gained intense flavors. We completed our dinner with the luscious raspberry Panna Cotta. The service was excellent as all the staff is in tune to the diners. The owner/chef was out and about graciously greeting his customers. My husband and I look forward to our return. Thank you for a memorable experience.
