Via Vite Ratings and Reviews
I bought tickets to the theatre to surprise my daughter who was in desperate need of a night out away from her young children. We decided we'd grab dinner downtown as an extra treat. Our server was exceptional! She approached the table immediately to get a drink order and gave a detailed description of the evening's specials. She offered meal suggestions based on our inquiries and comments about the menu. We ordered the Fig and Goat Cheese Bruschette and were not disappointed! For dinner we each ordered a pasta dish. My Mezzi Rigatoni Vodka was spicier than I expected but delicious and filling. Our glasses (wine and water) were never empty. She checked back often to ask if we needed anything but never hovered. Other servers/staff helped to clear any used dishes as they passed our table so we ended the evening with a nice clear table (except for our wine glasses that were still in use). The friendly, knowledgeable staff paired with the delicious food and wine made for a memorable mother/daughter night! Thank you Via Vite! Two thumbs up!!
We loved how unique the menu is a Via Vite. I loved the mushroom soup & tuna salad. My husband had the rabbit ragu and said it was wonderful. We had a reservation for 7:45, but they were able to seat us early (which was nice). The only complaint was that our waitress seemed to want us to hurry up with our meal. Otherwise everything was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
I ordered my pizza without meat and it came out with meat amongst the arugula. Because the lighting was so dim in the restaurant, I did not notice the meat and ate the pizza. I discovered the pizza was loaded with meat when I looked at the leftovers at home. So sick the next day. Plus the wine I ordered had a ton of sediment in the glass which of course I did not discover until I saw it at the bottom of my empty glass. Bad night at Via Vite. Don’t see myself going back.
My musical group, @PandiniBros (Italian mandolin quartet) stopped in after a brunch gig elsewhere downtown. After two hours of playing traditional Italian music, opera tunes, Neapolitan song, we were in the mood for Italian food (not to mention a glass of Prosecco)! The place was quiet at 1:45p on a Sunday, the server was attentive, informative, and charming. The food was great! I especially enjoyed the Boucheron goat cheese salad and order that each time I dine at this oasis of civility amidst the happy chaos of Fountain Square. The brunch menu is very "breakfast-y," but also included limited pizza and pasta options. Highly recommend!
Chic hoppin restaurant on fountain square! Took another couple for their 34th anniversary and they were brought champagne! Menu is adventurousome; loved the shrimp with home made pasta. Definitely will go back to try their reknown pizza very highly rated in past. I would give this 4 1/2 stars. Service was stellar!
Service and food were top notch. Owner visited table and we had a nice conversation. Chef sent a special dish for us to try. Everything we ate was delicious. They sent a complimentary dessert for my husband’s birthday. Great experience. On Fountain Square; restaurant is in a special location.
We had a lovely Friday night date at Via Vite. It was easy to get a reservation the day before but the tables were full during our meal. Our server, Alison, was knowledgable and professional and made our experience very pleasant. We had the Peperonata Bruschette which was served on blue oven bread that is better than Boca's (in our opinion). We also shared two pasta dishes which were divine. We always love our dinners here because they feel like a special a special occasion, but the value is so wonderful we can afford to make them a more regular occurrence.
Excellent location on Fountain Square in Cincinnati, Ohio. Walk to local shows and museums. We dined here before Blink, on an outrageously busy Saturday evening with our family of four. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was creative, interesting and tasty. Serving size was moderate, and we all left feeling full and happy which is not always the case with two athletic teens. My son with a nut allergy was served a salad with nuts although we disclosed the allergy when he ordered. Luckily, he noticed before he ate any nuts. Servers were mortified, brought him a soup (on the house) and then a nut-free salad very promptly, which we appreciated. So, if you have an allergy, be alert. Overall, we would happily return.
Was for a birthday. Party of 4. I requested a booth. And was told booths are only for parties of 6. Although, one sat empty right next to us the whole time. And no mention of my wife’s birthday even though I mentioned it in the reservation details. The servers were very nice an attentive, the food was okay but not worth the price in my opinion. Not bad but not great either.
I have been to this restaurant 3 times. The first two were ok which is way better than this visit. I had the cioppino. Now I've had great cioppino. I nice thin tomato base soup with saffron, chunks of fish, whole clams and mussels, and shrimp...shells and all. This was not that. It was some indiscernible type of seafood and tomato paste put through a Nutra Ninja and served with a slightly burnt piece of bread. I thought they had given me spaghetti sauce by mistake. The carpaccio was pretty but tasteless. No romano, no oil, no capers. Not even a lemon. Although there was something resembling frosting the color of avocado but it didn't taste like avocado - not sure what it was. So a cup (not a bowl mind you) of soup, an appetizer and 1 cocktail cost me over $50 with tip. I have no problem dropping that on a good meal but to say I was disappointed is an understatement. I gave them 2 stars because the service was decent.
Wonderful view of Fountain Sqaure and located near just about everything downtown! Service was absolutely perfect and our server, Carly, walked us through the wine and dinner menu to make sure we loved everything that came to the table! Very welcoming staff for such an up-scale menu!
