Via Vite

After not dining at Via Vite for a while due to few bad service experiences in a row, we were delighted by our last visit. The food was excellent as always and was well-paced by Sam, our superb server. She was sweet and perfectly attentive. Her great work is why we’re putting Via Vite back on our frequent dining list again.

From the hostess to the ,well everyone was extremely accommodating. Our food was very yummy !

Beautiful view of the square and excellent service. Good wines and a wide menu to choose from. The lamb was outstanding. And the bread with goat cheese is delicious.

Family birthday celebration.

The sever and trainee were pleasant. The two steak dishes were properly prepared. The two pasta dishes were unpalatable. In truth, we would have been better off opening canned spaghetti. The seafood in the risotto was minced and unrecognizable as an Italian dish. Understandably, this is a tourist trap. With a bit more thought and care, it has potential to be far more.

My favorite restaurant with a beautiful view of the square! The food and service are fantastic and Cristian does a fantastic job of making you feel welcome, as if you are eating at his home! Love Via Vite!

Our anniversary and from the great wine suggestion to the awesome food, the night was a hot. Service was A plus and made our night!

Birthday celebration for my wife

We had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding.

The people working the front desk were just ok....not very professional looking.
The 1 st table they offered us was upstairs which has absolutely no ambiance.....sort of like eating in a concrete basement.
They reseated us on the main level....from then on it was great! Kelly, our server was so knowledgeable and helped us order, and made some good recommendations.
The owner came to our table and introduced himself and was very congenial.
Good date night!

Perfect meal, as always. Such a great experience. And I love that the owner stopped by the table to thank us for coming and recommended the perfect wine for my meal!

The food is excellent. The portions are just right. We had appetizers and dessert. The staff and management are friendly and attentive. They deserve a great review but my wife and I think of this as our restaurant so please don't crowd it up too much! The location is fantastic for parking and the Aronoff among others.

It’s was a great time and great atmosphere

Very nice location looking over Fountain Square. Chef substituted a side for me on the special, and the meal was delicious. Not a large menu, but something for everyone and very well made. Next time I’m getting the meatballs, they looked delicious and their sauces are homemade and yummy.

Spent one night in Cincinnati and dined at Via Vita on the recommendation of friends who are former Cincinnati residents. Very enjoyable evening. Service was terrific. Though I felt most of the food too heavy for my taste, I feel most people would enjoy the offering. My husband and I split a salad and appetizer of bruschetta with fig and goat cheese. Both were delicious. My husband opted for the lamb shank and I got the pork chop. Both were well prepared. I would have preferred the branzino, but could not convince my husband to share with me (it is offered as I dish for two). I would have loved to see more seafood on the menu. However, I would return if in Cincinnati again.

One main course dish was fabulous the other was absolutely tasteless. Dessert was mediocre at best. Service great. We went on a Sunday night so noise level was low.

Way overpriced and then you had to pay extra on top for bread! Back to OTR!

3 Year Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated my parents 46th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The service was great and the food was delicious! We had a party of 6 and everyone raved about their food.

Everything was delicious but the farfalle and salmon had hardly any salmon in it, which was disappointing. Otherwise a very enjoyable evening.

The food was very good. They had a pre fixe menu available and we ordered from that selection. Only $39.00 for 3 courses and a bread basket. Unfortunately they were extremely busy and the kitchen was very slow. Also, our waitrees was poorly trained. When clearing the table, she took the silverware and when they brought the next course, we had the ask for forks etc. The bread plates were cleared after the first course even though we had bread left. We have been here many times without a problem and we will be back again. Hopefully these problems will be corrected.

Via Vite is a nice Italian spot, in the absolute center of the city. The menu seems more contemporary Italian versus traditional Italian, so it's worth taking the time to review the menu to make sure it meets your tastes. My only real complaint is that they have put too many seats in a limited area. The bar is cramped and on a weekend night, you'd better be social, as you won't have many private conversations. You're likely to have someone within arms reach on every side of you both in the bar and in the restaurant.

If you haven't been here you need to go. The food and service is wonderful. The owner is very hands on checking on tables. Very special place.

We brought customers from overseas and we’re put upstairs in a plastic covered room. Room was cramped and customer could not hang her coat on the chair. Servers could barely get around the table. The table was so small there was not enough room to put the dishes and appetizers on the table.

Very bad way to show off our city and culinary venues.

Service was excellent and food was delicious.

The salmon was wonderful over a layer of a squash puree.

ACCORIDING TO THE HOTEL WE WERE STAYING AT THIS WAS BILLED AS AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT. CONSIDERING I HAVE BEEN TO ITALY AND LIVE IN NY. THIS WAS NOT ENTIRELY WHAT I WAS USED TO . THERE WAS VERY LITTLE PASTA AND DID NOT HAVE WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER NORTHEN ITALIAN DISHES

Four of us (who live near downtown Chicago and eat at excellent Italian restaurants there fairly often) were very pleased by the food and service, atmosphere and noise level at Via Vite, including the appetizers, bread, (we ordered 3 different entrees; two had the salmon) and desserts.

The food was delicious, as always. Unfortunately, our waitress spilled an entire pitcher of water on the floor and one in our party. And, while she was speedy in cleaning up the mess and extremely apologetic, I was surprised that the manager-on-duty never checked on the table. Rather, we saw her berate the waitress.

Nice place. The food and service was great. We had a nice table that was relatively private. The location was good. It was a big open room and was a little drafty from the front door being opened a lot by guests. The Octopus appetizer wasn't quite as mind blowing as I expected, but the lamb and seafood risotto was really good. I really can't think of any complaints, and I would definitely come back!

I really liked Via Vite. My Pasta Bolognese was rich and delicious. The desserts were incredible. My only complaint would be price. $18 for the pasta is ok I guess, but I feel the bread basket could be included.

Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She explained the menu in detail. She helped everyone select dinner choices. The staff provided excellent service, and attention to detail. Our server and staff made sure we had everything we needed. The quality of the food was superb. The brussels sprouts were fantastic. The salmon dish with the butternut squash purée was delicious. This was a business meal with a team of six people, and we had a wonderful time.

The appetizers were good. But it went down hill from there quickly. The entrees my wife and I had were not good at all. Very little meat and too much sauce in my opinion
