Found a piece of plastic in my pasta. They claimed it was onion outer skin. Didn’t want to raise a fuss. They did not comp meal. Bad experience.
Exceptional in all aspects!
We have dined at Via Vite many times over the years, and it never fails to be a terrific experience. The food was delicious, with Brussels sprouts, Mushroom Ragout and Penne Bolognese as highlights. One thing I like about Via Vite is that they usually have more than one vegetarian entree on their menu.
Very happy with the service and drinks selection.
Not too thrilled with the vegetarian choices and the gnocchi seems overpriced.
Our server was amazing and the pasta dishes were great. I would say the only small negative was the bread being dry and having a tough crust which was too bad since there was a charge for the bread. Otherwise, very good experience!
Always a wonderful dining experience. Consistently great food at fair price points. The Fountain Square location is perfect.
Was excellent service and delicious food. They did not recognize the birthday request, however! But no complaints and will definitely go again!
The salmon dinner was excellent and our server was very attentive and friendly.
Tasty, interesting menu. Always like to go here for special occasion. The chocolate creme brulee is amazing.
Quality Lunch, with fresh ingredients, and good choices. But, their unbeatable wood fired pizzas are not available at lunch. Well, now I have an excuse to return for dinner.
The food is always excellent: the octopus is the best in the city and the limoncello is the perfect end to a great meal.
Just okay - not innovative. Okay for work events, but expensive for what you get
On Fountain Square, this restaurant was recommended by a local who loves the bolognese. I ordered the bolognese and my sister ordered the ORECCHIETTE RAPINI PESTO AND SAUSAGE. First time in my life I wish I had ordered the Orecchiette - not my favorite pasta but this dish is spectacular, the flavors are fantastic. The bolognese is great too!
Food was good but the service was below par. We waited 10-15 minutes for drinks after we were seated and ordered. Appetizers and entree came to table at the same time.
Everything was lovely. However, I was very surprised that the planned and noted birthday reservation did not result in any dessert or adjustment in the bill
We opted to sit outside since it was a nice evening. Outside area was not available as there was a private event so we opted to sit outside at the bar. Bar service was slow and it seemed like they were not properly staffed.
The service was amazing and so was the food. We cannot wait to come back.
Our experience was amazing as it always is at this restaurant. The food was scrumptious. The service was great. When you see the owner on the floor and in the kitchen on a Sunday evening, you know all is going to be memorable. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you for a top notch experience!
Had an amazing time celebrating a birthday here. Staff was very accommodating. Food was delicious. Our server Rebecca was outstanding and had great recommendations
Delicious ! Outstanding service. Great experience. Will definitely go back.
We are always very pleased with our Via Vite experience. Tonight was no different. Great food and service. Half price wine night only added to the fun!
If you have not been to via vite day please put your forks down and run it to this restaurant. It was restaurant week and we sampled everything that was on the restaurant week menu. There was mozzarella wrapped in procuitto for one appetizer. Yep their appetizer was a lightly crisped gnocchi to die for . The second plate was Farfalla pasta in a cream sauce with salmon and lightly cooked cod with a touch of arugula on top . The The main entrée is their one outstanding dish. Lamb shank on top of the creamest polenta I had ever eaten. I had to ask the chef how they did it and of course I wasn’t going to get the whole secret but he was kind enough to come out and talk to us. Don’t even think of going to bravos or any kind of mass produced Italian food. This is authentic wonderful and flavorful. And of course do not forget for dessert the affogatto!!!!!If you’re not sure what it is, you need to go and just find out.
Absolutely excellent food. We had the Cincinnati Restaurant Week tasting menu and between us we tried everything. Every course was outstanding and if you have even the slightest like of gnocchi then you HAVE to try Via Vite's. To die for!!
Awesome food and outstanding service
We were at Via Vite during restaurant week and had the 3 course meal. Everything was delicious right through the house made lemoncello!
Or service was perfect and the food was amazing! Get the Potato Souffle!!
We went to Via Vite for the restaurant week menu. We enjoyed our meal, but wished it was hotter when served to us. The plates were warm, but the food was lukewarm which made it less enjoyable.
Maybe the best Italian restaurant in Ohio. Their gnocchi and bolognese are amazing and the choice of wines is always decent.
Thank you for another great dinner! We'll be back.
We picked this restaurant based on the menu as they have a Salt Crusted Branzino for 2 which sounded fantastic. Unfortunately we found out after ordering drinks they had run out the evening before and even then had only enough for 2 meals that night. The only other fish dish was Salmon with squash which was not appealing to us and they would not cook it any other way so we paid for our drinks and left.
We had a birthday party and it was wonderful
Get the gnocchis! The restaurant is convenient and often overlooked for people attending a show.
The food was good, but a bit overpriced for the quality. I believe you pay more for the experience and the ability to people watch on fountain square. The kids portions were incredibly small! With ordering appetizers and desserts, we assumed the kids portions would be fine for our 8 and 11 year olds. However, their pasta dishes came out with about 15-20 penne noodles a piece. Our oldest had hers gone before the waitress was able to come over and ask how the food was. She enabled us to order a half portion of the gnocchi for her, but after the kids meal, drink and a half portion of the main meal (which felt like it was a lot less than half of what I had just ordered), we were well over $20 for her. We have no problem paying that for our kids for a good meal (or just ordering from the regular menu), but the fact that we had to order 2 appetizers and 3 desserts so that they would not be hungry for the show was not great experience.
As far as the quality of the food, the gnocchi was delicious (I think this is a family recipe from Nicola's) and the goat cheese bruschetta appetizer was very tasty as well. The special of the salmon was a bit dry / overcooked.
Next time, I think I would either pay a few extra dollars (or similar price) for higher quality food, or save a few dollars for similar quality food without the fountain square view.
Loved the food! A little pricey for the "ambiance" in my opinion but would definitely go back for the food!
We ordered several items to share and our server had each dish come out already split. Everything we tried was delicious.
Food was absolutely delicious! Service was wonderful. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent, prompt service. Delicious appetizer, pizza, and bottle of red wine before Aronoff show.
Found Via Vito on TripAdvisor. Upon arrival, it was a little loud but the place was crowded. My pasta with sausage and pesto sauce was delicious as was my husbands penne Bolonese. The wait staff was fabulous! Friendly and super attentive. A gentleman, who I believe was the owner, also came out to greet us which was a very nice touch. Our dark chocolate creme broulet was amazing complete with a chocolate spoon!!
Only down side was the noise, limited menu and my husband and I felt there was just a little too much sauce on the pasta. It was kind of drowning in it.
I would def return but request lighter sauce so I could really taste the homemade pasta.
