Via Toscana Ratings and Reviews
Intimate, lovely decor and atmosphere. A romantic place to go for dinner. Very good gourmet food. We went for Valentines Day which was very full and might account for the long wait before the main course (1/14 hours!) came. The waitstaff, however, were attentive and courteous.
Overall nice dinner experience. We had stuffed mushrooms that were excellent, as was the bread they serve with dinner. My wife had lasagna which she said was outstanding. I had salmon puttanesca that was good but not as good as other puttanescas I have had. The salmon that came with it was cooked well and flavorful. The sauce just seemed a little bland. Waiter was attentive.
Had high hopes based on the other reviews, but Via Toscana fell short. Service and ambiance are good, but execution of dishes was really disappointing- Zuppa Ribeltto tasted like canned vegetable soup. Burrata was cold with very thick skin -had no flavor and the “grill-toasted bread” , while displaying the requisite grill marks was cold and limp. The rabbit/bison entree induced grand hopes, but was bland, although the bison was very tender. Impressive and expensive wine list. Disappointed- probably won’t return.
2nd visit & we'll be back again. Not stereotypical Italian, but real Italian foods made as if living in the country with what is locally sourced/produced. Get past the location, the food was great (again), and based on how packed the restaurant was, others feel the same!
Our waitress was amazing, but the service from the management was terrible. I ordered my steak well done and my boyfriend ordered his medium rare. When they came out mine was still bleeding and his was more well done than mine, so we literally traded steaks and I sent my now traded steak back to the kitchen to be cooked to proper ORDERED temp. 15 minutes later after my partner's food is now cold it finally comes out looking proper. 10/10 tasted delicious once it was correct. Called manager over to discuss compensation due to waiting so long after correct temp was not reached. He leans over and begins to critique how we approached him while being very condescending. Could have salvaged the business from us but instead made it clear we were not wanted back and finalized our opinion of the restaurant. Let me stress - the waitress was phenomenal in catering to our needs and being patient with the shenanigans.
The beet gnocchi was excellent. The rabbit was great. Braised short ribs were good. Lacked flavor. Chicken parm average. Lacked flavor. Overall a nice evening. The water girl was on top of it. We will be back but will opt for some other dishes. I wish the rabbit was a standalone dish.
Excellent food and service. We went for their special NYE menu and weren’t disappointed. It was fresh and very tasty. We had a tenderloin in a brandy sauce that was cooked perfectly, that came with a mushroom risotto that had huge chunks of mushroom, and a chicken with fresh noodles in a yummy alfredo sauce. They use the team approach for service so we always had full drinks and items being removed from the table as we finished. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. All in all a great experience. Highly recommend.
My wife and I have been to Via Toscana quite a few times and it never disappoints. Most recently, we were there to celebrate our anniversary, and had a wonderful time. Even though it was a Saturday night, the restaurant was vibrant but not crowded or loud. The service was excellent as always. I love wine, and although I don't know much about the Italian wines they have on their extensive list, I got lucky and picked a wine my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. This time, I had the Steak Valentino and savored every bite. My wife had the shrimp risotto and enjoyed it. In the past, we've both had many of the Italian dishes, and all have always been superb. I can't think of any negatives on this last visit. In fact, in all the time we have gone there, I can't think of any negative experiences at all.
We live close by and wanted a quick bite prior to our movie. This is not our first time at Via Toscana. We have always had good experiences when it comes to ambiance, service and their wine list is excellent. We also enjoy the fresh bread.
Unfortunately, Via Toscana cannot get it right when it comes to their food. I ordered the Insalata Spinaci and the Zuppa Ribollita. The salad was lukewarm, this is not the first time I get a salad that I cannot eat at Via Toscana. The Zuppa Ribollita, was basically tomatoe sauce and a few vegetables. I left most of my meal untouched. My husband had the Linguini Marinara, the pasta's taste and consistency was good, however, the sauce tasted like it was from a jar.
We try to sponsor local businesses, but we are done with this particular restaurant.
We really like this restaurant for the food quality and wine selections. We do request seating in a quiet area and they always accommodate. I did have to add a bit of parmesan cheese the peacatore bianco but otherwise every other dish we've had was perfect.
The interior is really nice, but quite cramped in certain areas. It was quite loud. I was hoping for a quiet restaurant to have a nice date night with my husband, but that wasn't quite the case. Also, if you're looking for a trendy/hip date night restaurant, this is not the place for you. We went on a Tuesday night and while the restaurant was packed, most of the customers were over 50.
They have gluten free options which was really nice, however the food was not good. We ordered pasta with marinara sauce, and the pasta was overcooked and the sauce did not taste that great and was quite watery. We also ordered a side of brussel sprouts, which were fried incorrectly on the first try, so they had to remake them. When they were brought over to the table they smelled incredibly burnt, and when we took a bite it was clear that the oil was burned and that's what the brussels went into. The waitress was really nice and accommodating the whole time and they did take the brussel sprouts off of our bill. Unfortunately this was not a place for us, but plenty of the customers seemed to be having a grand time.
Food here every time is just amazing, we usually have the same thing every time, but this time we tried something different and it was equally as wonderful!!! The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was cozy and quiet and the food is delectableand exquisitely prepared!!
