Love the remodeled space and the food was delish! The noise level, however...a different story. We could barely hear each other talking. The beautiful room has a lot of hard surfaces which contributes to the irritating acoustics. Via Sophia would do well to introduce some nose absorbing materials to mitigate this problem.

Impeccable service. Food was good but not spectacular. Ambiance was great. The staff was very attentive. Little pricey though. Worth a try!

Found this place for a quick lunch by accident, and so glad I did! We only ordered appetizers, but they were excellent and very authentic (the eggplant caponata and the tomato/burrata salad). Both were served with amazing crusty grilled olive oil bread. Our server, Oscar, was helpful and very kind. The atmosphere is very inviting. Anxious to stop in again on my next trip to DC!

Delicious breakfast! The ricotta pancakes were scrumptious and gorgeous, the bagel and lox also. Quick service. Friendly staff.

We had the opportunity to dine for the first time at a weekend lunch today at Via Sophia. The restaurant design and ambiance is contemporary in the genre of and upscale Italian osteria. The waitstaff was very pleasant and most attentive to our every need and promptly took orders, brought a basket of excellent bread, and ensured our water glasses were filled. The menu offered a decently diverse lunch selection for appetizers, salads, pizza, pasta and several main course selections, and desserts. As we were three we ordered from most of these categories and were pleased with all of the food choices we made. The pizza we shared was particularly good, blistered perfectly by the restaurant's sleek wood burning oven. Having eaten at some of the top rated pizza restaurants in town we can say the pizza at Via Sophia was every bit as good or better. The Manager stopped by the table to ensure our satisfaction and kindly introduced us to a delightful sparkling wine experience. Overall, our lunch was wonderful and memorable. Consequently, we can happily look forward to our next opportunity to dine at Via Sophia.

Inattentive waiter. Manager came by and was nice. Waited forever for bread, refills, etc. Food was pricey and not worth the charge.

Overpriced menu - no brunch menu on the weekend. Music loud so you can not have a normal conversation. Service poor for a large staff on duty. Mostly stood at the reception desk and talked. Had to get someone's attention for the check.

Awesome new addition to the neighborhood. Have been twice since they opened and the food and service and vibe amazing. Gnocchi Pasta, Del Mare pizza and monk fish were perfect for our group and and summer gazpacho was delicious.

Lunch was good food, well prepared and well served. Pizza especially nice. Csponata had too muchbread on the side but not enough of the eggplant to put on it. A little pricey, but good for a nice lunch with a good friend

Food was great, but the outdoor place wasn’t really suited for eating dinner - better for cocktails (it sort of felt like eating on a coffee table). Our cocktails were not very good, but the wine was great. The service was lacking - the waitress wasn’t knowledgeable about the menu and wasn’t very attentive. It has potential but it needs some of the kinks worked out.
