The food was excellent as always. However, the service was a little slow from the kitchen.
Food was good, but kitchen seemed to have problems or delays. We sat down and ordered within a reasonable time. We saw several tables of people come in after us, get their food before us, and leave while we were still eating. Our dinner order took extremely long. The General Manager came over to our table to “acknowledge “ that we had been waiting a long time, but offered no explanation why, or any solution or concession for the problem. When our diner came out, only 7 of our 8 individuals got their meal. The last person got their meal about 10 minutes later.
We were seated next to the kitchen door. Was it because we used Open Table? Actually we had to wait maybe ten minutes to get that spectacular place.
Our absolute favorite! Family owned!!! By one of the most amazing families ever! Grandmother is still in the kitchen everyday. Best food. Service. Love. Thank you Carlos & Enrique. Xo
A repeat customer enjoying another wonderful meal.
As always, varied menu exquisitely prepared with attentive service. And, least I forget an excellent wine list reasonably priced.
Second time here. Sadly it seems if you’re not a regular you don’t get as good of service.
We met with friends that we had not seen for almost a year so the evening was as much focused on catching up as sharing a great meal. Our waiter Stephen (who has served us many times in the past) immediately picked up on the primary reason for our evening and ensured that we were not rushed to order and allowed ample opportunity for our group to socialize between courses. The noise level in the dining room was slightly higher than we had experienced in the past but, in all fairness, the restaurant was filled to capacity. The food was, as usual, delicious and prepared to exacting standards. We have had the good fortune of visiting Italy several times in the past. Via Emelia is one of the venues that most closely replicates the great Italian dishes that we have had the pleasure of experiencing during those visits. Highly recommended.
Excellent food. Excellent service
We’ve eaten at Via Emilia at least five or six times now, and it is as excellent as ever. It’s a great restaurant with an excellent wine list. We were once again treated well and served an excellent meal.
The food was great and it had excellent, quick service!
Great evening out/ Loved the piano music in the background. Still could carryon a conversation.
Since recently moving to The Woodlands, this was our best dinner so far.
Thinking about this place for my daughter’s graduation party and wanted to give it a try. Ambiance is awesome. Seems like a lot of regulars head there. The service was great, the food was good and I would definitely give it two thumbs up!
Great service; nice ambiance. Waiter and server very good. Their suggestions were good.
New Years Eve dinners can be overcoming for eateries. Via had everything under control, no one panicking , everyone doing their job. The set menu was awesome from the appetizers to the main entree was fresh and had unbelievable flavors. Dessert was amazing, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking excellence.
New year's Eve
Overall the food was good, but my daughter had stomachaches for two days after eating the Gnocchi on New Years Eve.
Food was timely delivered and excellent. Will be there again very soon.
New Year Eve dinner
It was a set menu for New Year’s Eve. 4 courses with a nice variety. Everything was tasty and the presentation was lovely. The bartender didn’t know how to make a French 75 but that is the only complaint I have
Amazing as usual. New Year’s menu was a great selection, and we are consistently rewarded with excellent food and service!
The food was excellent. The service was slow and inattentive.
amazing Christmas Eve at via Emilias. Just felt like Christmas inside. Food incredible as usual. Atmosphere, personable service. Love this place.
We love Via Emelia, that's why we chose it for our family Christmas Eve dinner; however, we were VERY disappointed in the Christmas Eve menu. NO beef at all. We were offered a very limited menu of which none of us would have chosen had we had the normal choices. One of chose vegetarian the rest of us chose fish dishes. They were prepared well but disappointed our expectations. Won't choose Emelie next year but will return for their regular menu offers. Sorry.
Our favorite local restaurant. It's our family tradition to eat there for Christmas Eve, birthdays etc.
Service was just ok. We were not informed that their would be a restricted menu. Many of their signature items were not on that menu. This was very disappointing considering this was the first time we had brought our kids to this restaurant. Food was very good but the choices were disappointing. You'd expect to have a lasagna choice at an Italian restaurant.
It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end.
Amazing food, service and ambiance! The food is incredible from the short ribs, fish, pasta to the desserts. The bread pudding and tres leche are out of this world. Always wonderful!
Via Emilia is one of the very best restaurants in the Woodlands. When you look at prices they are probably the best restaurant value.
The best Italian restaurant in The Woodlands.
Service was extremely slow. We had a party of 10, but our meal took 3 hours due to our MIA server. After I had to actually ask a manager for the checks I found there was an auto gratuity added. The food was outstanding as usual, but the service was slip shod at best and there was no acknowledgement of this by the manager. An “I’m sorry” would have been appreciated. I understand there was another large party, but this reservation was booked well in advance. An auto gratuity doesn’t mean you can slack off on service!
Great evening. Rob was a wonderful waiter. Attended to our every want and we stayed a long time. Great service.
My husband my husband ate slice pork with green beens and the green beens were overcook. The service was just ok. I think the best of that nigth was the piano music, but I hardly listened it because there was a lot of noise. And finally, I think its not worthy price/quality.
The redesign of the restaurant has made the noise level quite noticeable. We have been many times but now asking for a quiet table is not an option. The food is decent but I think they should add more pasta options to the dishes. It is not available as a side on the menu. We ordered the appetizer special and it was 4 pieces of bread with goat cheese, jam, a little meat and arugula. For $14 I expect more since my plate was only $18. The ambiance has changed.
After a rough start at our first visit (waiting for more than 20 minutes for our reserved table) the staff made up with excellent service and GREAT food. We certainly will come back for more.
Restaurant noise level was very loud I liked the ambiance but it was tainted by noise level
Great food! Great service! Outstanding management!
This could be one of the hidden treasures of the Woodlands and as my second visit I was hoping that it was. We were seated quickly close to our reservation time in a booth, albeit close to the front door, which means that sound from the piano bar drifts into your area, at times quite intrusively. Our server was knowlegable but took almost 15 minutes to arrive to take our drinks order and had to be reminded to bring olive oil and balsamic vinegar for the bread twice. There was one large group in the private dining area that seemed to eat up a lot of the staff's attention, perhaps that was the cause of the slow start to service.
The starter Datteri Ripieni (Applewood-smoked bacon wrapped dates, stuffed with Goat cheese, Mascarpone cheese, and chives) for $14.00 is very good and uniquely flavorful. Overall, the food was good but not exceptional and the Ravioli with Osso Buco was more salty that I would have preferred and the flavor did not reflect the original dish which I had on the last visit which was excellent.
The Tiramisu is fresh and tastes as good as any in Italy.
I like this restaurant, I wanted to love this restaurant but it just is not at the 5* level, despite the presence of the owner on site at most times.
Worth a visit, just be prepared for an excellent or average time, neither is guaranteed.
Service is a bit rushed. Although they close late they start cleaning for the night right after the rush making people who are left feeling like they need to leave.
