Via Emilia 9
Via Emilia 9 in Miami Beach, Florida is the first of its kind in this city. A regional Italian restaurant, Via Emilia 9 only serves menu items that have actually been imported from Italy (flour, eggs, fruits and vegetables being the only exceptions for good reason). The pasta here is made fresh daily from these Italian ingredients. You can even partake in truffle tastings to help better inform your palette.
While there are a number of great entres to choose from at Via Emilia 9, the stewed veal cooked in milk definitely stands out. The veal with cooked ham and cheese is another favorite.

We had the owner as our server and she was so sweet and the service was amazing. The gnocchi was delicious one of the best I’ve had! The wine was also amazing. Would definitely go back if I am in Miami again.
The gnocchi bolognese was out of this world. My friend had the grilled seasonal vegetables and said they lacked flavor or taste but my food was amazing. Some of the best gnocchi I’ve had.
Nice to be able to dine there once again. The food was fantastic. Thank you!
Always an excellent experience
Great authentic italian restaurant! Pricy for the amount of food given but food is delicious nonetheless.
Got there at 5.30 no one else there ! We figured we would get good service being the only table but our waitress was on the phone for half the time we were there and forgot us ! Our other waitress was no better our food sat in the window for almost 5 minutes before she picked it up and gave it to us’ the cook rings a bell when food is up and no one came and picked it up right away ! Once again empty restaurant! Our app grilled Calamari was fair at best ! My pasta dish was ok ‘ my wife’s ravioli was good but we were half way done eating before we got cheese to go on the pasta! Our waitress never asked us if we wanted extra cheese ! Another misstep ! I had to ask for it . Overall we were very disappointed very !
This was a major disappointment, The atmosphere was great, as was the service, but the food was not good--overcooked meat, spices that were supposed to be in the dish according to the menu not there, etc. For example, the Caprese salad had a huge hunk of mozzarella, underripe tomatoes, and no basil.
Nous avons payer plus de 72 dollars pour 6 langoustines ! Un scandale ... personne ne nous avait prévenu du pris préalablement et jamais j’aurais imaginer payer ce prix pour des langustines
Everything was delicious. We started out with Eggplant Parmesan which was hot and tasty. I had homemade gnocchi with tomato sauce and my husband had homemade fettuccine and bolognese sauce. Both meals were to die for. We lapped up every bit of sauce with the fresh crusty bread they gave us.
Via Emilia is a nugget amongst all the over-hyped restaurants in South Beach. Just really good Italian food...
Just far enough from the action in South Beach to feel comfortable in a neighborhood restaurant. Street parking outside. Food is exquisite. Good service--friendly staff. Dining room is small but comfortable. Could use some sound absorbing materials.
Casual dress..It's a must for people who enjoy quality food prepared with love.
Always a lovely evening
Rico pero excesivamente caro, para la ubicación e instalaciones. No volvería
We love the food, the owners and the ambiance. So authentic!
Simple ambiance with fantastic food.
Valentines Dinner at Via Emilia 9, they jazzed up their decorations with little red sparkly hearts at each table and a few good specials. We enjoyed the evening and could have a conversation easily - the ambient noise level was perfect for hearing our conversation over others/music. We ordered the eggplant parm appetizer - skip it, instead opt for the burrata and prosciutto. We split the pumpkin ravioli in butter and sage, delicious. We went for the Langastinos on the grill, split in half and served in their shells (with their heads) and they were excellent. Dessert, we ordered the jam tart, it's ok, but it was a sweet way to end our meal.
Service is very good, considering they have a very small staff it's actually fantastic and friendly. We noticed several couples dining near us speaking Italian so if they like this place it must be authentic!
Loved this place!
The service was poor. I had read reviews that mentioned poor service so we went early. There was one waiter and one runner for the dining room I was in. I was given the wrong pasta but no one ever came by to check after the food was delivered until time to ask if we wanted dessert.
Excelent real Italian food.
Small Italian restaurant located on a side street cooking exciting and savory dishes. the service is excellent and attentive without over crowding you. Food is delicious fresh and well presented.
One of my favorite places in Miami!
Via Emilia is a local gem. Delicious pasta as well as meats and great salads. It’s small and atmospheric with the best servers in Miami Beach. As a part time local, I always go here when I’m in town.
Great food, great service and I got to meet an NFL legend!
The pastas are amazing. It is a super small portion but the taste and the freshness make up for it.
I loved the place and the service was great. The prices were very reasonable but when you suggest a special and it’s over the amounts by far different from the regular menu it should be told in advance.
Food is consistently great and truly italian.
Best local family run restaurant in Miami. Never disappoints, amazing value, quality, and service.
The restaurant is very nicely appointed and charming, beautiful setting and practical layout. Service was good, server friendly and patient (we were undecided with menu order). The presentation and quality of the food was good. The problem here was that the food was extremely oily. All dishes had the same problem. The quality of the pasta was good so it is hard to understand the need for so much oil. I had the lobster spaghetti and it had very little lobster. Dessert was good and tasty. The place is not noisy and allows for conversation which is great.
Our favorite In Miami
A hidden gem of true Italian food and experience in Miami!!
Great homemade pasta but pricey for pasta dishes.
What a wonderful surprise !!! This place is amazing. Great food wonderful service. Food is homemade not mass produced. Our waitress was so knowledgeable about all the dishes and made great recommendations !!! A true hidden gem. The homemade pasta was amazing. The atmosphere and decor perfect. The open freezer was filled with stuff imported from Italy. I highly recommend!!
