Via Emilia 9
Via Emilia 9 in Miami Beach, Florida is the first of its kind in this city. A regional Italian restaurant, Via Emilia 9 only serves menu items that have actually been imported from Italy (flour, eggs, fruits and vegetables being the only exceptions for good reason). The pasta here is made fresh daily from these Italian ingredients. You can even partake in truffle tastings to help better inform your palette.
While there are a number of great entres to choose from at Via Emilia 9, the stewed veal cooked in milk definitely stands out. The veal with cooked ham and cheese is another favorite.
Filetto di Branzino agli Agrumi
Mediterranean Branzino Fillet with Citrus Sauce
Most likely I will not be returning here. The service was amazing!! But everything was wayyy over priced for what was given. 1st thing, our waiter asked what type of wine we liked, my date and I stated and then he came back with a bottle for us to taste test. My date didn’t like the wine but I did so I was given a glass of the wine. The food was very small portion ; and the chef stands by his menu so it’s no changes to the food- super authentic Italian food (some may not like that like my date).... fast forward the bill comes. I was charged 26 dollars for the glass of wine!! Things like that should have been said. Our bill was a hundred and change for basically nothing.
Great service, great food, great ambiance and such a friendly welcoming
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant !
Amazing customer service and even better food!
Food is amazing! Like it cause they have plenty of outdoor seating.
Honest food, as Italian as it can be. Best on this side of the Atlantic.
Not quite on target for their usual experience. Branzino overcooked, scant disappointing grilled calamari. Pasta is the way to go. Service was pleasant, efficient bordering on rushed. It was a busy night, full house inside and out but if you’re a local and know what Via Emilia is best at, and raved to out of town besties- well, a little disappointing.
Best Italian in Miami
We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant due to other "popular choices" being booked. What a blessing in disguise. The owners were so accommodating along with the high quality of food and wine offerings. It was so delicious that we went back the next evening and had a completely different type of meal. True fresh and homemade northern Italian cuisines are what makes this place special. Tomahawk steaks, branzino fish, homemade pastas, and fresh desserts. Just so delicious. I wish I can relocate this restaurant to my city!
Food is OK to good but nothing was outstanding. Prices are very high given the extremely small portions. Even with three courses we left hungry.
Cute place to stop on our visit to Miami. Quaint atmosphere, like home town Italian brassiere
This visit was a disappointment. Pasta with scampi had NO scampi. Just dry tasting egg noodles. The tuna tartar app was nice, but overpriced at $25. We have had some excellent dinners in the past few weeks...but NOT this time
Best Italian restaurant in the area.
This is a decidedly mediocre restaurant and not a great value for the price. It’s not terrible, just not noteworthy. The biggest issue I had was the server pushed a langostine appetizer and neglected to tell us that it was 52 dollars. Pretty significant omission given that most apps were under 20 dollars. That really ruined the place for me given that this is not a fine dining type of place. Typical up charge and I should have caught it but still unexpected. The pasta was fine but nothing special.
Food is over priced for the quality nothing we ordered tasted good. Ingredients were not fresh as advertised. Every plate that is not vegetarian had pork. Not much options for non pork eaters
Great food. Fabulous staff!!!
Besides having the best Italian cuisine on South Beach, Valentina is gem! Sweet, welcoming and professional. Wonderful house made pastas, the best tomahawk you could imagine and a lovely truffle menu. Let Valentina help you select a wine and you will not regret it. Filled with friendly locals in a charming inviting atmosphere.
Thank you for a beautiful evening!
Terrific locals spot. Wonderful food.
Came here on our vacation to Miami Beach. What a delight. Excellent Italian fare! We were even greeted with an amuse bouche. Excellent staff, perfectly done octopus.
Great Italian food. Very authentic. Simple but delicious. Nice selection of wines too.
The food is authentic and scrumptious. The owners, Valentina & Wendy, her husband and chef, make sure the food and service always exceed expectations. Genaro, the sous-chef, has his critical eye on everything that leaves the prep area thus ensuring you will be delighted with your meal. The wine, my favorite is the Brunello di Montalcino, beautifully complements the delectable branzino and grilled vegetables for this non-meat eater. I LOVE THIS VENUE and I’m confident you & your family will as well.
The best authentic Italian food! Great ambiance and amazing pasta made to order. Would go back in a heart beat!!!
The food at Via Emilia 9 was definitely tasty. We really enjoyed the prosciutto and melon appetizer and the pasta bolognese. They offer a few wines by the glass and the $12 chianti was a disappointment all around. The homemade tiramisu was fair- heavy on the cream and not much more flavor. Our waitress was knowledgable but I was disappointed in the lack of attention to our table. I ordered coffee at the end of the email and never received it after waiting 20 minutes, but it was on the bill. Overall we enjoyed the food and would have given the restaurant a more favorable review if not for the disappointing service!
We dined here again and had a great meal. Tne tortellinis were superb as was the grilled artichoke. Excellent service from our waitress.
The food here is amazing. The Bolognese is so authentic.
Absolutely wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant. Authentic and delicious
Wonderful service from the owner and delicious food. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and service, poor acoustics makes for a loud evening if there are others in the room (which there always are due to its popularity).
My sister in law couldn't even eat her steak tartar. From the little bit she ate she had stomach problems the next day. The bronzino had no flavor and didn't taste fresh. Had to send that back. The Eggplant Parmigiano was tasty but for $17 it was the size of a deck of cards. The bolognese pasta was recommended by the waitress because she said the chef was from Bologna. That was just fair and very small portion. They comped us dessert because we were miserable and we didn't like that either. All in all it was a disaster. It's a shame because it was my husband's birthday. Should've stayed home...
We visited for the first time on Sunday eve. We sat outside. We ordered the meatball and pea casserole, and the superb pumpkin raviolis with both the butter sauce and the bolognese. We had a wonderful server (a young lady from Torino). We will definitely be going back soon.
Very slow service! We came with two small children and one was asleep by the time our main dish came. There were two parties who came after us and received their food before us. They must have been Italians 🤷♀️
Our reservation was not found in the system but we still were seated less than 5 min later. Great service and ambiance, good food. I would deduct points for my steak ( ordered medium but got medium well/well done). Overall cute local restaurant. I would recommend to check them out
Amazing!! Just the best service and food! Love coming here!! Will be back again!!
Food is yummy and the atmosphere is wonderful.
I was very excited about this restaurant. I thought maybe we had found a great jewel. Unfortunately, the restaurant is buzzing and this takes away from the pleasure of eating. Our table was inside which was fine but it seemed like everyone was scurrying about without really providing excellent service. Everyone was nice enought but they seemed hurried. The food and wine were very good. The real issue with this charming spot is the parking -- it is very difficult. Notwithstanding, I would still recommend the restaurant because the food was good as was the wine.
The food was very authentic and servers spoke Italian, always a good sign. A lot more unique pasta options and the Lamb Tortellini with the truffle upgrade was amazing; also the prosciutto was fantastic and thin. The pasta is definitely more on the Al-Dente side which is how it's done in Italy. The only negative comment is that the 8 of us were there celebrating on our bachelorette trip, and a different server came over and asked us to quiet down-kind of surprising considering we were in the back of the restaurant, all girls and enjoying ourselves. Otherwise it was great and I would still like to go back.
The food and drinks are amazingly delicious! We love Via Emilia 9!!!
Meeting with the bosses, both Italians.
The food was good.
Place very full.
