Via Emilia 9
Via Emilia 9 in Miami Beach, Florida is the first of its kind in this city. A regional Italian restaurant, Via Emilia 9 only serves menu items that have actually been imported from Italy (flour, eggs, fruits and vegetables being the only exceptions for good reason). The pasta here is made fresh daily from these Italian ingredients. You can even partake in truffle tastings to help better inform your palette.
While there are a number of great entres to choose from at Via Emilia 9, the stewed veal cooked in milk definitely stands out. The veal with cooked ham and cheese is another favorite.

Meeting with the bosses, both Italians.
The food was good.
Place very full.
Excellent food and service in a quaint setting that makes you feel at home.
Great food and service. Good quality pasta as sauces. I would revisit!!
Food was spectacular- all made fresh or straight from Italy. The Italian chef and front-of-the-house duo provided excellent attention to food and service.
My go to place here on the Beach. Never disappoints. Food delicious and Cristina was really nice.
They made us wait 20 minutes to sit down even though we had a reservation, and they barely apologized. Service was subpar throughout. Ambiance was super nice, and food was ok. I wouldn not come back.
Friendship reunion
Via Emilia is one of the hidden delights in South Beach. We've been going there since it opened years ago, and it continues to grow the menu, seating options etc.
Valentina is a gem making the service, reception excellent.
Chef's food is excellent and always consistent
A local gem
Fantastic food and service!
Valentina was incredibly gracious host, food was delicious and we enjoyed the outdoor space. Can't wait to return!
Our server was efficient but not at all friendly
Being Italian it’s hard to find a good authentic Italian restaurant in the US but this one is definitely one of them!
The food is authentic and just as good as home, the servers are friendly and professional.
Highly recommend
Absolute amazing as always!
Fabulous and authentic! This is real deal as close to food in Italy as you will get!!
It was a very nice experience. I enjoyed the Buffalo mozzarella and 4-cheese gnocchi — it taste like heavenly cheesy covered pillows.
My favorite neighborhood spot. Always attentive, friendly service and amazing Italian food.
Food, ambience, service amazing. What more can you ask for?
service top notch and every food item was fantastic - highly recommend
Service was great and food authentic Italian cuisine. One of the best restaurants on South Beach!
Such a nice find! On our last night in Miami we decided we wanted something more authentic without the whole scene and once I read that most of the ingredients are from Italy plus all the other great reviews, we decided to give it a chance. So happy we did! And will DEF be coming back for our next Miami visit! Benissimo!!
Love this place! Best Italian pasta in South beach.
Excellent food and service. Original concept with the truffle adding to the dish. We will definitely come back.
Exceptional freshly made Italian food. Great service and friendly staff. Live the new outdoor patio.
Amazing delicious and wonderful for business or family get together ❤
Delicious food
Incredible food and wonderful beautiful service. Highly recommended
We're so happy to see Via Emilia survive the pandemic. We've been dining there since they opened, and every year the experience gets a little better - expanded seating (mostly outdoors) and an expanded menu. The food remains the same - wonderful!
We love Valentina!!!

While we unfortunately didn’t have any food it looked great! Wines were excellent, staff excellent and fun to speak Italian with :). Love the location, quiet street off busy roads.
This is one of my favorite neighborhood places, good Italian food from the region of Emilia Romagna.
I always enjoy it and now that the outdoor has been extended, it is really lovely to sit outside, today we went there for lunch, very enjoyable.
I had Tagliatelle Panna Salsiccia e Funghi, this is one of my favorite, fresh tagliatelle with homemade sausage, mushrooms and cream sauce, very rich and very tasty and my friend had the Tagliatelle Carciofi e Limone, fresh tagliatelle with artichokes & lemon, this has a more delicate taste, I would recommend the one with Sausage, Mushroom and cream ……… of course I do 😜
We lingered there for quite a while chitchatting and enjoyed a nice bottle of Falanghina white wine, always good for lunch, at the end finished with espresso coffee, I am Italian I am very picky about my espresso, normally I really don’t like drinking espresso in restaurants as very often it is really bad and bitter but, our server Viviana, insisted that I should try it and she was right, it was good so, thumbs up for espresso as well. Viviana was really lovely, so well done on all fronts. I am already a regular and of course I will come back again for more @via_emilia9

Always excellent. Lucky to have them on the west side of the island.
We have been here several times and rated much higher. We were a group of five. One of the orders was wrong- but we figure out late and didn’t correct. The shrimp pasta could have been out of a can. Pasta was soggy- not even close to al dente. No flavor, really bad. The other dishes that were correct were fine. The wine was great and a good value. They sat us next to the “order window” which was annoying at best. I’ve had 5 star meals in the past here. Today when I brought guests, I was embarrassed.
The food was fresh-made, delicious, and authentic. Would definitely eat there again when in town!
We love coming here but the service in our last visit was not great. Only one server for the whole place on a Monday night. We had to wait nearly 2 hours to eat.
food was inventive and good tasting. Sitting on the street was not pleasant--too much traffic that at times made it difficult to hear one another. Server was a bit testy because the table where we were seated backed up to a plant that was sticking into the back of one of us. She wasn't helpful in trying to remedy the problem. The web page should remind everyone interested in having wine with dinner that they do not have a paper copy of their wine list and our server would no help us by reciting any of the offerings.
Via Emilio is a local favorite of ours. Pre-covid, we went often, but according to Open Table records, we haven't been there since March 4. We haven't been anywhere, choosing to hunker down in Upstate NY until mid-November. This was our first outing in months. We did have dinner out once in late summer with friends at an inn in nearby VT (where, early on, there was hardly any covid) on a wide open outdoor deck where we were the sole table. We have been cautious.
I had passed Via Emilio on a walk and noticed the well spaced tables on the sidewalk. 15th St. near Alton is generally pretty quiet with little foot traffic. For this reason, and because we love and miss their homemade pastas, we went for a Sunday lunch on a beautiful day. The pasta was as delicious as I remembered. I had pumpkin tortellini in a sage butter sauce. My husband had the tortellini with artichokes and lemon. We had some sparkling Italian water as well as a glass of white wine (a falanghina). It was a perfect lunch.
Our waitress was attentive. The food came promptly. Altogether, it was a wonderful "welcome home" to our previous, more carefree lives in South Beach.
The food was really good and tasty best lasagna I have ever eaten. The server was really nice, helpful and caring.
Amazing food, amazing service, charming and a hidden jewel! Order the eggplant parm and any of their pastas with white truffle. Stupendous!
Superb spot Real Italian Homemade pasta to die for
