   Very disjointed slow service Sommelier was good Shrimp was tough Hardly any Lobster on the spaghetti Overall we had much higher expectations Especially because it was my son’s birthday. Not even a “happy bd” from any staff. Disappointed

   Had a wonderful dinner celebrating the birthday of a good friend and spiritual mentor at Via Allegro Ristorante, one of our favourite Italian restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area. The appetizers—Beef Carpaccio, Tuna Tartare, and Spanish Octopus—were phenomenal. For the main courses, we enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass, Rack of Lamb, and Gamberi Arrabbiata, which was served in a sauce made with San Marzano tomato paste, garlic, and dried red chilli peppers. These dishes were not just amazing; they were flavour bombs in our mouths! The service was outstanding as well – our server, Jelco/Zeljko (his name means "a desire for peace"), was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Last but not least, the freshly oven-baked focaccia was thick, soft and fluffy – simply ne plus ultra. Our evening was an absolute delight! I highly recommend this restaurant!

   Beautiful new decor and friendly staff. The Italian feel of the restaurant seems to have disappeared. The menu had great variety and food was tasty but served cold. Very disappointing. It used to be our go to for special occasions. Not anymore.

   Inside tables offer nicer ambience. Had asked for specific type of table but not accommodated. Atrium was very loud with combination of live and recorded music very loud and changed sound levels throughout the night. 70$ for Halibut entree very bland .. three of us didn't care for it. Bolognese and Pappardelle were very good. Starters of calamari and arancini also very good. Caprese with strawberry not a big hit. Service just okay... rushed at beginning for entree orders, then sat with empty wine glasses for long time with no followup. Extensive wine list on the table on arrival but no one offered Sommelier or recommendatons. Desserts were good (tiramisu and chocolate cake). Overall for birthday celebration it was overpriced without the food or service quality expected of an average restaurant.

   Food was fantastic. We celebrated a special occasion- would recommend to all family and friends, and will certainly be coming back again!

   We went to Via Allegro to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and it was perfect from start to finish. My mother and I shared a 1/2 L of fabulous wine, the food was amazing and perfectly paced throughout the night. I had the duck confit ravioli special and it was chef’s kiss—absolutely delicious! Our server was outstanding—one of the best I’ve ever had. I wish I remembered her name so I could give her the credit she truly deserves. Everyone at the table left happy and satisfied. Highly recommend!
