Vesta Trattoria & Wine Bar
Vesta Trattoria & Wine Bar serves drinks, pizza and creative Italian-inspired cuisine in cozy, intimate surrounds marked by wooden floors and art-lined walls. This neighborhood restaurant offers a constantly changing menu that walks a fine line between comfort food and farm-to-table fare. Treat yourself to some kale and watermelon salad, or indulge in some beef and veal lasagna. Vesta Trattoria also offers oven-baked pizza and a substantial wine list to complement its meals.
A local favorite, Vesta features specials during the week. Visit between 5 and 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday to enjoy happy hour discounts on select appetizers, wine and cheeses. During the weekend, the restaurant extends its menu to include a lavish brunch that includes pancakes, egg dishes and toast. With its wooden chairs, plush bar stools and warm ambiance, Vesta Trattoria & Wine Bar is an ideal choice a casual outing with family and friends.
very good brunch! brought a group of 6 for a family reunion of sorts, everyone loved the menu and i felt it was comfortable without being an "loud sunday brunch" by any means!
We live in the neighborhood and had friends in from out of town to celebrate my birthday. They loved the food and the friendly demeanor of the staff. The wine was delicious. Everybody raved about their meals. Everything I’ve ever tried on the menu is out of this world good. We don’t go out all that often but this place is our neighborhood favorite.
I have lived in Astoria for about 5 years now, Vesta is still my favorite restaurant by far. You will not get better food, wine, service or atmosphere anywhere else! It is a very special spot to me and I try to find an excuse to come here as much as possible!!!
They were supposed to open at 11 AM but didn’t open until 12 despite taking the reservation- stay away
It was an amazing V-Day experience! The only that I think Vesta could improve is that the cutlery was a little dirty, though it was understandable given the volume.
Delicious food. Charming place with very attentive service.
Great food and atmosphere. Been here a few times and never disappoints. The meatballs are amazing. Hangover pizza is out of this world good!
Terrible service and food was cold
Food took over an hour and 15 to come out. They were nice and gave us free gelato. Would probably go back.
Vesta never disappoints! We’ve stopped there several times on our way from the city home to Long Island.
Always love the food and wine here
Need a few more healthy options of vegetables and salad to complement the menu; if you like wine go ASAP
Honestly my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. Period. The menu is seasonal, but there are some staples tweaked per the ingredients available. The ambience is casual, but great for a date and a small gathering at the same time. We come here at least once or twice a month. Great wine selection too.
We’ve eaten at Vesta many times, particularly before or after Jets games. They are very close and easy to get to from the stadium. The food is always delicious and the pizza although pricey ($23 for a marguerita with pepperoni) is amazing.
Great food and service. Convenient location. Friendly staff.
I had been wanting to try this restaurant for ages. We got there early (4:30pm) to make it to a show in another part of the city, and it was very quiet until about 6:15, when we left. Ordered the seasonal burrata salad, boar lasagna and duck ragu fettuccine, hangar steak, and shared a bottle of wine. For two hungry people over a couple of hours, it was just perfect. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Intervals were well-timed. The service was friendly and I never had to ask for more water. Really cozy place! I hope to come back soon.
Excellent food - all courses!
Thanksgiving dinner was exceptional. Everything was carefully executed . Service was excellent.
Thanksgiving. A delicious, delightful experience. Tried the baby Jesus cake for first time: a slice of heaven!
Love this place. Everything was great!!!
Super friendly service and yummy food! Everything is delicious. A must try baby gesus for dessert. So goood!!!
Vesta. Always a 10/10. Always has been. Always will be. The place doesn’t miss. Love it.
Every dish was excellent. The menu is seasonal and changes often so we’ll be back to see what they’re making next. The Sweet Baby Jesus cake is a house special and really good.
Menu too limited. Can’t get a salad that is not Kale or does not have nasty sweet dressing. Not an Italian restaurant.
We could tell it was a local place with a casual
Vibe. We were from out of town and loved it!!! Anything with mushrooms there is a MUST
Picture this: You arrive promptly for your Friday night reservation to find this small restaurant packed, including a couple of big tables, and it's going to be "a few minutes" until until your table is ready. You and your spouse wait a few minutes, you finally get to sit at the bar, order a glass of wine, and you think about maybe just having dinner there too. Finally, your table is ready, but then the food takes forever to come.
Sounds pretty bad, right? But actually, it wasn't. The reason was that the guys who ran the place owned up to it. They didn't ignore it or tried to make like it wasn't so bad. They apologized, poured us both an extra glass of wine while we waited, and bought us dessert. Everyone makes mistakes. To me, it's how you handle your mistakes that shows what you're really made of. And these guys showed that they're decent pros who really care about what they do.
This was our first visit and we're definitely coming back. After all, the food -- two pasta dishes and a "Sweet Baby Jesus" cake -- was delicious, so why not?
Great food and service...wonderful!!!
Wonderful food and atmosphere
Can’t go wrong with Vesta! I’m a person to find the negative in everything, fortunately I can’t find any here. This is my GO TO spot for every occasion. Cozy but not stuffy. Staff is friendly and helpful without being “in your face.” Menu is fun, fresh and delicious. I personally think their pizza is New York’s best. Wine selection is just what is needed in this location and don’t forget to get the bambino cake for dessert. Must try Vesta at least once... I’m sure you couldn’t go just once.
We were impressed with the quality of our food and the service in this return visit, after many over the 10 years since Vest opened. The special shishito peppers special appetizer somehow managed to make this omnipresent dish sparkle uniquely, and our two pasta dishes were both vegetarian, both very different from each other, and both delicious. The Baby Jesus cake was again a treat.
Excellent, prompt and friendly service. Delicious fresh pasta! Great wine list!
The food is so fresh and delicious - we loved our meals! Highly recommend the tuna tartare - it's a pretty substantial portion for an appetizer. And definitely get the mint chocolate chip gelato for dessert - made with fresh mint, not that processed stuff. SO good!
We came for a birthday brunch with family and as usual, food and service were impeccable. The staff was also incredibly family friendly and patient with my one year old son whose mission was to throw all items within reach on the floor. We love Vesta and will definitely be back, both for date nights and family meals with the little one!
We enjoy Vesta and have returned three times with guests. The margherita pizza is a must have with its delicious fresh tomato and thin crust. We truly enjoy the Tuscan Kale Salad with strawberries, the Roasted Chicken is divine and the Wild Boar Lasagna is scrumptious.
We have come here during Sunday brunch and early Sunday dinner. Its unassuming atmosphere and fine food have made it a favorite of ours.
Try the Chocolate Bread Pudding and you will add it to your favorite restaurants list.
Eight of us came for brunch on father’s day. As usual everything was wonderful. Great watermelon spritzer cocktails , great burgers , fries, Mac and cheese and of course baby Jesus cake.
Ate here Saturday night when taking son back to Astoria. Seated at one of the high top tables. Foccacia was fabulous; service was friendly and fine. They need to improve A/C!
Had excellent chicken dish, pizza with sausage and some very good salads. Not much in this part of Astoria, so consider it a find. Also interesting wine list. Beer and Wine only.
Overall a nice dining experience with great menu and friendly service.
I love Vesta! Have been coming here for years and it never disappoints.
Exceeded expectations all around. Relaxed rustic atmosphere, friendly fast service, and REALLY GOOD FOOD made our dinner at Vista a real treat.
Dinner was delicious as always. I had requested a table not a bar table for my reservation. I find the bar table in the front very cramped. They seated the people who walked in ahead of us without a reservation at the regular table. I did mention it when seated and he said he had no record of that but I did click that option on open table
We eat here every time we go to the Astoria Performing Arts Center on Crescent Street. It is a friendly and tasty neighborhood kind of place - worth the detour. The food choices are varied and the wine list is too. Go.
