We dined outside on the patio. The kitchen got a little backed up but their manager talked to us to communicate the issues and made sure we had plenty of cocktails to keep us happy. Then the Chef came and checked on us too after and apologized. Wow. I know the service industry is a hard job right now in these COVID times but this place is clearly trying and we had a great time. We will be back.

Loved the place and server was great. Food just fair. Mussels, good-looking not great. Steak, Brussels, fish pate, Med. Burger all just fair, would not order again.

Beautiful space. Everyone working there was so nice, from the hostess to Beaux, our waiter, to the bartenders and managers. Great drinks and delicious food. Vessel is just a perfect spot.
Ambience is amazing here - great date spot. Get a bunch of apps and sides as opposed to the mains as the apps are great to share

This was my first time at Vessel and it was just AMAZING.. the moment I walked in I was amazed on how beautiful it was! All of us love the food and drinks we had.. the service was also very good. We can’t wait to go back!
Vessel was a great place to enjoy for a post-holiday bite. Nothing compares with the ambiance of an old church. The food and service were great. I realize that everyone is having staffing shortages but Vessel did their best to treat us special even with these constraints. I can't wait to return.
Chairs outside were not accessible. So had to wait to be seated inside. Pork shanks were okay. Needed more seasoning.

We had a not so friendly waitress that couldn’t be bothered. We ordered a bottle of wine that set at the counter for at least 10 min and we had to tell her to get it. No apologies what so ever. Food was okay but the fried goat cheese was cold but nothing special. Disappointment for a Thanksgiving preset dinner.

Turkey Dinner time!
This was a mistake...my mistake.
I should have heeded the reviews.
Place was not packed...maybe 2/3 occupancy.
I tipped the waiter a large bill as the meal started ..hoping for exemplary service.
One waiter dropped at total of two plates on my wife's dress, a can of coke on my dress trousers...this was on 2 different occasions.
Mains were all cold. Folks ate some of the serving, because they were hungry.
I sent mine back to be heated....received a heated plate, but still cold food.
Took a bite...turkey it was cold and dry..terribly overcooked. The kitchen had ladled more sauce on the meat to hopefully disguise the parched turkey.
Mashed potatoes....cold and colder.
I asked for a replacement for my fork...Waiter told me to use the same fork from the salad.....fork never came...Had to get up and get my own silverware.
The pork was a tasty dish. Warm and succulent on the bone....though the pasta was undercooked to the point of being hard.
Not once did wait staff ask if the meal was ,"alright, good, to our liking.." heck, any query would have been appreciated.
Nada..they didn't care, or were clueless.
Deserts..well they weren't cooked... with raw, uncooked dough ....Ice cream had melted by the time it was served.
Waiters (?) brought boxes for uneaten meals.
Presented a check that was not itemized.
An interesting approach to dinning.
This staff simply hasn't been trained.
Left to their own devices.
There is potential here...but this a Vessel that is foundering.

We are sorry your experience. We as most other restaurants are so short staffed and do not know who will even show up for work each shift. The ones who show up for an interview are hired and we have no time to train them like we used to. Many do not even last a week. We strive to give the best service and greatest food possible but the unfortunate situation all of us have been put in has made this sometimes very difficult. Although the food was very good, we felt rushed through our meal. Since it was Thanksgiving, the food was very pricey, and we hated to be rushed through our meal. There were many open tables around us, so there seemed no need to be rushed.
Most of our food was room temp and sub-par. Cocktails were nothing special.
Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice, but not amazing. The first course was a pastry with a soft cheese and tomato prep- eh. It was tasty but too much pastry. Second course I had a salad (arugula? with sweet potato and fried goat cheese ) which was perfectly prepared with balanced dressing and flavor. My son had the oyster soup which was very creamy with fried oysters in it. Eh. We both had the pecan crusted snapper as a main (not fans of Turkey unless dark meat and cooked at home, and the pork looked ominous at our neighbors’ table as it was served in a bowl and appeared to be bone in). The main dishes were not hot when they arrived (after what was a longish wait between courses-pacing issue?) the pecan crust was interesting but a bit heavy for the fish and crumbled off when forked so it was hard to blend a bit with fish and crust- consistency kinda off. Desert was a satsuma tart and a pumpkin cake that came with a side of a chocolate cream with little marshmallows and crunchy things. I didn’t taste the tart because it had pistachio and I am allergic, but my son said it was well balanced flavor of sweet and citrus. The cake was flavorful and would have been better with a simple vanilla gelato or cream.
Atmosphere was more casual than expected with a bit of rock music playing kinda loud and no table cloths. Still it’s a cool place with the old church ceilings and windows. I would say we might go back for casual dining, but not for special occasion.
Small note that our server had exceptionally long fingernails, and for me, I find that kind of gross when someone is serving food.
So yes for casual dinner but no for special. Still, New Orleans is filled with amazing restaurants, so there are plenty of other options.
The food was amazing.
Service was horrible and we waited at LEAST 30 minutes to be seated. Workers were outside smoking cigarettes this place is normally good but it appears that you must go in the late evening hours for the superior service.
Hi, I could tell from your reservation time that you booked and came at a time period when we actually stopped serving lunch and were only open for cocktails. We close for lunch at 2pm and I see your reservation was for 2pm. At that point it would make sense that service staff would be on a smoke break if they felt we were closed. Went for lunch. Had the BLT and my gf had the caprese. Simple sandwiches with outstanding flavor at a reasonable price. Incredibly unique experience and friendly staff. Would recommend to any and all. Our Lyft driver said he saw the place on TikTok and is excited about going there.

Excellent service! The food is amazing as always. Roasted cauliflower is my favorite as well as the grilled Mediterranean burger! It's one of the best places to get together and enjoy a great atmosphere with great food and beverages!

I’ve been a few times before this visit and thought it would be the prefect spot for a bachelorette brunch. No surprise, it was! All of the food was delicious, the outside seating was beautiful, and the wait staff was kind and personable. Will definitely be going back

$11 for a Bloody Mary and a Chopped Salad for 10$ consisted of unpeeled cucumbers , cherry tomatoes and avocado. NO LETTUCE! Small bowl was used. I do not recommend.

I was pretty disappointed with my last visit to The Vessel. I have been here several times and each visit the food quality declines a bit more. This last visit followed that same trend of decline. My lamb burger was charred so well done (requested MED) that it was practically inedible. Our appetizer came out cold. Drinks were inconsistent. Service was fine and ambience great. It's just too bad that the food is no good now. Definitely not worth the ticket price. Not sure if they have undergone a change in management, but it's just not the same. I will not return at this point.
Hi Christina, I am sorry for the issues with your food. We've been experiencing severe kitchen issues. Many of which I was recently enlightened about after the immediate departure of my Sous Chef Saturday night. I will be personally working stations and retooling our kitchen over the next couple weeks so I can promise you quality will be improving. Food was good but very small portions... We were both still hungry.... We ordered 2 medium long island strips... We're very good but could have each ordered 2 plates and we ordered at 615.. and didn't get our food till like 650... And we were one of the first tables there...
Crawfish croquettes were very good. Shrimp and Mexican street corn salad was very nice. Shrimp were too salty for me to eat more than one, but I’m sensitive to salt. I enjoyed the chicken breast & my husband enjoyed his steak. Overall very good meal, but dessert was okay. Service and atmosphere were great.

We were in from NY & wanted to try something different. A church bar/restaurant was definitely different. Happy we got to try it & would go back.
Overall pretty good experience. They, like many other restaurants at this time, were a bit understaffed. We had came in kind of late and they were still accommodating and willing to take us. I highly recommend the croquettes and the shrimp and grits. I do wish that they still had the cocktail, “tigers pacing in a cage”, (sooooo yummy) but I’ll most likely be back again for dinner
We had our wedding reception here! Food was delicious, lighting was perfect, patio was a fun spot. Our server, Bree, was phenomenal- so accommodating and warm. We went in knowing they are short staffed but she made it feel like there was no issue at all. I couldn’t have asked for better service. Salmon Dip and Pink Lady were our favorites.
We will definitely go back and 100% recommend Vessel for a fun night out.
Service was slow and although we made reservations (that did not ask you to specify what type of seating you prefer) we got a high top community table. Regular tables were open and when we asked to sit there they said they were booked. Pregnant women and high top tables just don't go. Food was mediocre but the space was nice. Biscuits and gravy came with minimal gravy and when we asked for more gravy we were given a table spoon more in a little ketchup cup smh.
Tulane Homecoming weekend
Short staffed but everyone was giving their all. The ambiance was fantastic in the old church, cocktails were excellent and timely. Entrees we’re slow getting out as expected. We had skirt steak which was good, however the osso buco was not. It was quite tasteless and placed atop something akin to boiled hominy. Very dry. Overall, left disappointed as we had heard good things. Hopefully better next time.
