Sicily is famous for its food and its sumptuous local produce. Being born and raised in Sicily, I was lucky enough to be brought up on some of the finest Italian food, all lovingly made by my mother using fresh, wholesome and home grown ingredients. Good Food, Family and Friends are everything in Sicily and it is these values I have brought to my own restaurant.
Also synonymous with Italy is the Vespa scooter, and in Sicily Vespa’s can still be seen everywhere. Indeed, growing up, I can still remember the fun and adventures I had with my friends on our Vespas. Hence, I named my restaurant after this unique part of Italian, and my own personal history.
We look forward to welcomi
We all loved this restaurant - just booked it as it was near to our hotel but what a find. Great staff, great food, great service and good value for a restaurant in the heart of London.
Great choice of menu, food excellent quality all cooked fresh to order. Customer service excellent. Would highly recommend.
Loved it was fabulous food lovely little Italian family run restaurant
Fantastic evening, fabulous food, great service! Would recommend Vespa to anyone who loves Italian food.
Fantastic food but cocktails bit pricey.
Quiet and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Romantic outside seating area.
A family restaurant with good Italian food. Main courses, sea bass and ravioli very good, tomato on garlic bread starter not so great.
Lucky enough to enjoy this lovely little place on a quiet Saturday. Great, service, food and background music. Highly recommend for a hearty Italian meal. Goes well with hearty company.
Lovely food and plenty of it and service was great
Very good service. Excellent food and drink. Attentive waiting staff.
Despite plenty of competition in the area, Vespa was reassuringly busy for dinner after the cinema. Service was quick and friendly without being over attentive, and I enjoyed the food and drink very much. Will certainly return.
Lovely cosy restaurant, nice atmosphere, great service. Would recommend.
I had a wonderful time, the service and the food was lovely. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this place and return again.
Good food and even better service. Warm and welcoming staff and environment.
We had a nice meal. The restaurant is very small but it was not very busy when we visited. The food was nice and the servers were very friendly.
Fantastic food & Lovely people. Will definitely be returning
Food was lovely. The two ladies working that evening were very attentive and friendly.
The staff was so nice . I told them when making my reservation that it was my birthday and asked for a nice table. They did just that and even had a balloon waiting at the table for me. Good value for money as the food and service was amazing. Will definitely be coming back!
Just like being in Italy. Basic Italian food, not all fresh, but very authentic. Great atmosphere, fantastic location in a pedestrian area just behind the National Gallery.
Lovely family run restaurant. We really enjoyed it.
Great outdoor seating area- perfect for summer, had the set menu which was lovely and the vanilla panna cotta is a must-try!
Vespa is well situated on the corner of Leicester Sq. There's a good number of outdoor tables. Food and service are excellent. I've been there several times.
Very good food and something different to what I'd usually have. Excellent mocktail
Great food and fantastic hospitality. The three amigos, Fabrizio, Salvatore and Antonio looked after us brilliantly. COVID precautions were sensible without distracting. Highly recommended.
Cosy restaurant with good food and excellent staff.
Service was good. But meal was very basic and too much food
Reasonable food and service. Nothing spectacular.
Pasta overcooked and not particularly spicy for arrabiatta.
A small restaurant so hit and miss if you get a decent table.
Food OK but service quick if you are in a hurry.
Piping hot pizzas were wonderful! Service was attentive and pleasant.
Loved this little restaurant, celebrated my partners birthday before the theatre. Would defo come here again... food was lovely and the ambiance was great. Staff were more than helpful and kind. We even had a surprise pudding at the end for his birthday. Thank you Vespa!
* DO NOT BOOK TO GO HERE! *
When we arrived for our booking at 9:30pm after our theatre show we found the restaurant was packing up. When we approached the management they were rude and dismissive. Do NOT book Vespa. They do not stay open and do not honour the bookings they've taken if they decide to close early or if things are quiet. You're likely to end up like us, walking the streets of London searching for somewhere else to eat.
OPEN TABLE SHOULD REMOVE THIS PLACE FROM THEIR BOOKING LIST!
This place was closed with no sign If life
No mention on the booking it was no longer open as I was able to book tables
Luckily it was only a Monday night dinner but very disappointed
Pre-theatre meal. Food was average to poor. Seafood risotto had to be sent back because it was very poor. Wine was good. Service very slow. Very expensive for what we had. Vespa relies on passing trade and tourists rather than on repeat customers. Should have gone to Bella Pasta instead.
Great service very friendly and efficient, we only had a main meal which was very tasty, only minus was we ordered bread which was a bit dry and seemed just a few slices from a french stick and would have preferred to have some Italian bread, even if it costs more.
All pasta with below to medium taste (in sault & pepper) and not well cooked (lasagne was burned)....
Very average Italian meal. No real love in the presentation. Service just felt like a means to an end (the food too). Food not piping hot which is never a good sign. Staff seem pre-occupied ie doing their job but with mind elsewhere. No flair or excitement in presentation or ambiance.
Tiny restaurant. Really crammed in with uncomfortable chairs. Waiter did not seem to understand our very standard order ie starter + fish & salad as main, so my wife’s starter, main course and salad all arrived together, and my starter took an additional 5+ minutes to arrive. Food was nice enough when it arrived correctly. Without any suggestion of an apology, the bill included a 12.5% gratuity which I told them to remove. Will not be returning. In the same street, within yards, including next door, were 4 other Italian restaurant which did not appear on opentable.
Gnocchi were undercooked and oily sauce
Very expensive for what you get
Service was good, though
What a fabulous, friendly restaurant. Food and wine were delicious, authentic and reasonably priced.
Service great, atmosphere warm and welcoming.
We will definitely be returning, thank you.
Vespa is a great spot. Obviously a lot of care is put into the food. It’s southern Italian and very authentic. The stuffed calamari is a gem of an appetizer. Pizza was delicious. We had a few pizzas in London and this was the best. Cannoli and pasta great too. It’s a small place so make a reservation. The Vespa theme is cute. The wine choice by the glass of 100 or 250ML was a nice option. Easy location near Leicester Square.
The service was terrible. We waited 45 minutes for our main course, which was pasta!
The food was average, at best, and the tables are crammed in so close together that you can barely get between them. Overall, very poor for value, quality and ambience
This negative review is not because I don't recommend the restaurant - it's just the only way to get to the commentary box so that I can point out that I was able to book a table for two last Thursday 7th November at lunchtime but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed - in darkness, chairs on the tables! I'm sure it's a very nice place - if it is open!
