Verve was excellent, as always. This is fine dining, so it is not cheap, but it is actually a reasonably good value compared to other similar restaurants. I had the veal loin and my wife had scallops and both were perfectly prepared and the flavors were excellent.

We enjoyed a delicious meal here, though I will say my selections were a bit more top notch than my husband's. I had the bib lettuce salad with a unique soy truffle dressing that was incredible. I then had the Bronzino which may have been the best bronzino i've ever had. My husband had the prosciutto- wrapped figs which were good, but the prosciutto was not as crisp as it should have been. He had the halibut special, which he said was slightly overcooked, but he enjoyed it. The white-table cloth atmosphere and the quiet-to-moderate noise level (it was quiet once the very loud man at the table behind us left) make this great for a date or special occasion or any time you want to relax and not have to shout to be heard. (Why don't people speak in muted restaurant voices anymore?) If you want a more vibrant scene, the bar area in front was hopping and you can sit there and enjoy the same food. Our waiter was very nice, though he was sweating profusely and seemed frazzled, which was a bit disconcerting. Having said that the pacing of the meal was perfect. We will definitely return.

Had a great time here. Especially loved the bartenders and their ability to make great craft cocktails. Fresh ingredients and delicious. Our butter lettuce salad was great but entries weren’t special. Would definitely go again especially for the bar and maybe eat there and try the bar menu.

Great restaurant. Nice decor and the food was fantastic. From salad and soup to entree, food was exceptional. Only small knock was the noise. Definitely will return.

Start to finish - hands down, one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. Service, food, ambiance and overall experience is stellar. You want drinks from the drink menu; you want the fish of the day; you want any of the desserts though I just had the cheesecake and it was spectacular. EAT HERE!!!!!

The restaurant was dark and narrow. Old decor. We were taken to the lower level, which had even worse ambiance, and were seated right next to a family gathering with a few children. They were very loud. The restaurant was not full, so we asked if we could be seated elsewhere. The waiter, who looked somewhat disheveled, said he could put us upstairs, but he added there were loud children there too. He was not very professional and didn't make any great effort. We had a very bad vibe that the food would reflect the atmosphere and apparent lack of professionalism. People were wearing shorts and flip-flops (Saturday night at what used to be a popular French restaurant. It was Bastille Day, and we wanted a special French meal). We got up and left. Never have done that before, but didnt' want to pay for what proposed to be a disappointing dining experience. The waiter didn't seem surprised or disappointed. Had decent Greek food next door. Too bad. This place, many years ago, was the 'it' place to be.
