   Level of service was outstanding, and quality of food was certainly acceptable but not necessarily outstanding. Not a large choice on the menu, but adequate and I do recommend the Elk Ravioli dish if one enjoys pasta. The weather was not conducive to dine outside which I believe would have been a positive. All in all, a reasonably okay experience.

   We did not have a very good experience. Both meals came out wrong and 1 had to be sent back and took another 1/2 hour to get. We had to ask for water three times and it took forever for a waiter to come and refill or bring us drinks. Brandon was very nice and apologetic and did everything he could to make it a better experience so we appreciated him.

   Customer service (Brandon), drinks, and view make this place. Food is good but beef and salmon dishes are continuously over cooked. Staff needs to learn the difference between well, medium, and rare and all iterations in between. That’s what’s going to change how many visitors you get. At $48 a pop, that steak better be done Correctly!

   One member of our party didn’t receive food ($77)steak meal for over an hour while everyone else had already eaten and when it came it was cooked incorrectly, asked for drinks several times and didn’t receive them, for price and cost to come up NOT worth it and disappointed. Won’t be returning, military party and birthday celebration 🙁

   It started a little dubious. We had made reservations but the table reserved for us was literally right beside another diner - not very romantic. But there was a small table near the guardrail that worked wonderfully. From then on… FIVE PLUS STARS! The drinks, appetizers, main course, dessert and especially the service were exceptional.     Server was great, drinks were fabulous! (We recommend the badlands!) kitchen was behind or something so food took awhile, but server kept us in the loop and took 20% off for our wait. Food was really good, minus the crime brûlée.. would not recommend that.

    The Vertex has degenerated from a high end members only cocktail and dinner club to a noisy tired sports bar. Food was marginal. Wait staff nice but appearance deplorable. Wrinkled faded black shirt and pants and tennis shoes. So disappointed that this treasure continues into decline. The lighting is aweful and the Devore is tired and worn.

    Steak was underwhelming and overpriced. Salmon overcooked, dry and tough. Our third entree the flatbread was good but arrived at the table 15 minutes after the other two entrees arrived. Would not recommend.

    Our server Leslie(?) was excellent; her recommendations and up-sells greatly enhanced the experience, especially as we are new to the area. Elk ravioli app before having the duck and my gf had the beef tenderloin. Both were prepared as ordered. Watched a red harvest moon rise from the rooftop window view we had, overall very pleased with the experience!

    A bit expensive for my taste and budget so I probably would only come for a special occasion, as this was. Nice view and if it were warm enough to dine outside I would have appreciated the ambiance more. There was a vent right beside my seat so I was quite chilly much of the time so that was quite unpleasant. I like the idea and feel it does appeal to many folks but just ok for me. I would recommend to some friends but not others.

    Overall experience was disappointing for a restaurant that requires $20 per person if you are not staying at the Alex Johnson. I had to ask the wait staff three times for a glass of water as she had already served water to my wife and daughter. Food was average and certainly not worth the price.

    The food was not worth the price. Our waiter was nice, but the food took a long time and was disappointing. Food quality is more important to us than ambiance. I would only go back if I were going to have drinks on the patio for the nice view.

    Elk ravioli, burgers, steaks and osso bucco were all delicious. Maybe a little slow on getting food, but coming to expect that with workforce challenges everywhere! Very attentive servers.

    My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and were excited to try the restaurant that calls itself "the pinnacle of luxury". Good: elk ravioli appetizer, the $72 dry aged steak, and our waiter. Bad: everything else. They were out of the duck by 6 pm, bison osso buco so tough it was inedible, underseasoned steak, overcooked shrimp, 1/2 hour wait for dessert, liquid "panna cotta". At some point during our dinner, our waiter accidentally broke our wine bottle while clearing the table. It was a complete fluke, and the restaurant made it right by giving us half off our bottle price; I mention it only to highlight that the night seemed to be a comedy of errors, and we just had to laugh. I think my husband summed it up perfectly when he said that it seemed like it was the chef's night off. The check was $200 ($250 with tip), and for the money I just cannot recommend Vertex to anyone else. I think the worst part was the $20 cover fee for the "privilege" of enduring one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. At least the company was fantastic.

    Celebrating wife’s birthday and relocating to Rapid City. We had a perfect table with and great view, excellent service, good food/drinks and plenty of space and time to celebrate and reconnect. It was a all around great evening and experience. Excited to return again soon!

    Server was very nice but orders and check were wrong. Food was terrible. Many other guests had the same problems we did. Manager apologized and reduced the bill but we would never eat here again.

    We ordered the bison Rosso bucco & it was inedible, tough, tough tough. Our server took it back & brought us steaks to replace it. She was wonderful Leslie.
