We enjoyed our dishes, service was good and loved the open roof top! The only thing I wasn’t happy about was the noise level.. I could barely hear our waitress and it was so hard to hear conversations with my daughter.
Over priced but good food & drinks. Bathrooms were in desperate need of attention.
I had brunch at Versa (brown buttered pancakes and shrimp & grits) the pancakes were a HOME RUN but the shrimp & grits weren't for me. Next time I'll try the Lobster Avocado toast instead but I'm DEFINITELY going back for those pancakes!
Loved Versa, easy to find and the perfect place to grab brunch! Delicious food and fun ambiance.
Food and ambiance was lovely, not what you'd expect in a hotel restaurant. Service was ok, some good points and some could use fine tuning. Nothing bad, just a bit more would have made the experience 5 stars.
Everyone loved the short ribs appy. Too bad it was cold and damp, would have loved to have been there when the roof was open.
Great place for lunch.
Versa is close to Penn Station, so it was convenient for me from Long Island. It is in a hotel on the 5th floor. I was surprised at how packed it was on a Thursday evening at 7:30PM. They couldn't have all been guests at the hotel, so it must be a happening place. The noise level is highest ever experienced and you could not have a conversation with your table mates. The food was good.
This place is really nice! Located on the top floor of the Rennisance Hotel, it can get busy between hotel guests and visitors, however it is large enough to accommodate. On the pricier side, but done so accordingly.
It is just OK restaurant. Service was good but I am not coming back. Beers were not cold enough... Lobster sandwitch was tiny...
For almost the same value, Robert at Columbus Circle and JAM'S at 1 Hotel Central Park stay my favorites!
My first time here but it won't be my last. Two great bars to sit and have a drink, wonderful atmosphere throughout, excellent food, great service. Bartender and waiter were both personable and accommodating. I absolutely loved the place.
I’ve also been there for rooftop drinks. It’s a fun place.
Great service. Amazing food. Cool decor. Will return
I would recommend it for those who wanted to get a drink as the place was cool looking. However, the food left for a lot to be desired. We had cheesesteak empanadas which had a very doughy crust. The tuna tartare was tasteless and we a personal pizza that was very greasy and tasted bland. I felt that the food was microwaved.
Service was great, everyone we interacted with was very pleasant. I wouldn’t recommend the nachos but the chicken n waffles and the burger were both good. Drinks are expensive but what you would expect for a rooftop bar.
I made reservations online and requested outdoor rooftop seating and when my reservation was confirmed I called the restaurant to reconfirm my reservations were for outdoor rooftop and they confirmed. We get there and they tell us we can’t sit out there because there is an event. So it was disappointing. Food wasn’t that great. Not great for eggs Benedict but the pancakes came through.
Too loud to talk. Otherwise great.
Outdoor deck space is great. A nice oasis in the middle of Midtown. Food was flavorful and portions were large. Only negative was that we never saw our waitress again after she took our order.
Came here for brunch.
Hosts sat us directly next to a large rambunctious table when there was a ton of empty quiet tables further in the restaurant.
Food came out missing ingredients, and waiter tried to blame it on us(?). Then took forever to correct (everything else was already cold by the time they brought out ingredients). Everything we ordered was dry and overpriced. Juice is advertised as fresh squeezed, but waiter said they were getting it from the “refrigerator.” Sounds like they are pouring pre bottled juices and marketing it as fresh squeezed.
Ambiance felt like a combination between a sports bar and sad hotel lobby. Definitely not the beautiful rooftop they advertise. Some open windows at the far end of the restaurant are the “roof top”.
Overall huge disappointment and doesn’t deserve it’s current rating. Must be coming from the tourists staying at the hotel below.
The food was phenomenal and the wine selection quite good. The ambience is also lovely.
Very nice place, large and open. Was a little dirty and disheveled. could have used a good cleaning. Great location close to trains and buses, good place to meet and get a drink outside.
Beautiful restaurant with great food. The service could be a tad bit faster though, we waited a while to get our check.
Great service and food! Five stars across the board!
We stayed at this hotel this past weekend. Had dinner Friday night which wasn't bad. We just had burgers and calamari but they were both good. Service and ambience were very good. Sunday brunch was a whole different story. You have the choice of buffet at $27 a person or menu. We chose buffet and it was disappointing. Had to ask for a new coffee because it was cold on arrival, in fact all the hot food at the buffet was lukewarm at best. For $54 for two people it was a waste.
Service exceptional and food off the charts delish!! Will visit often
I am giving VERSA 5 stars because of the ambiance. The music is soooooooo good. The grapefruit sangria is probably the best drink I have ever had, so you must try that. We went because it says "rooftop restaurant" on Yelp, but we weren't anywhere near a window or a roof. It feels more like an indoor garden or patio than a rooftop. We had shrimp cocktail (awesome), a mediterranean salad with chicken (delicious but tooooooo big), and my husband had little pasta with pesto which was so delicious, just way too big of a bowl/plate. The service was ok, but we were there a while before anyone knew what to do with us. We were on a romantic date, and it worked for us. I think it would also be great for a large party because the music is the best ever.
Great Place will be back for my daughters B-DAY!!!!
VERSA was amazing! The food was so good, and the prices for some big dishes were so reasonable. The view is incredible, and I cannot wait to go back when there’s outside seating. The only problem is if you’re dining with a friend and want to split the check, they do not have that option and you have to do the math yourself. But overall, great experience! Highly recommend!
Great place for a large crowd ... wait staff was wonderful!
Delicious food, excellent and friendly service, great decor, fun atmosphere. Outdoor space!
While we had good food, it was punctuated by very poor service. We had more interaction with the water and bus people than with our actual server. When he did come to the table he wouldn’t even look at us because he was too interested in what was playing on their TVs
Really amazing food! Very impressed.
Perfect venue for a casual dinner before an event at MSG. Food was good, service was great but venue was a bit loud - both inside and outside dining areas.
I had dinner with 7 friends here on a Saturday evening. The apps were great, entrees were good, and cocktails were excellent. The restaurant is at the top of a hotel; I will be back in the summer for rooftop season. The restaurant is really spacious.
I was hopping off and on the Amtrak as it was going through NYC and needed a place to have a dinner meeting. This was perfect. They even watched my bag and coat for me while I had dinner. Have a reservation was super helpful.
The sharing portion of the menu is excellent and the service staff at VERSA is even better. Top notch and will definitely be going back!
Great plac e in the Penn Station neighborhood for a comfortable business lunch. It is an attractive venue (better in the warmer weather) and has an adequate menu for a quick bite.
Had business meetings over breakfast and lunch. Good environment to conduct serious business. AND, as usual, the staff was very attentive.
Server could have been a bit more focused especially as it wasn’t busy. Had to track her down for refills and the check. Otherwise a good business lunch. Healthy options, got us in and out reasonably quickly.
Great food, great service. A #1 all around.
