The libations are fantastic. Great outdoor patio. The sliders are truly marvelous. A definite place to stop by if you are in the area.
Great place, with open airy feel. Good prices and good American food.
Service was really bad … waiting long times between check ins or refills or to check how our meal was after it arrived.
Booked breakfast fantastic choice either the buffet or from the menu. Attentive staff who seemed to be enjoying their work despite customers dropping 3 plates at the buffet counter!!
Will come back to eat when the open top roof is in full action
We booked a party of 8 and after placing our order for drinks the waiter came back to the table and told us that we can not split our bill and was not helpful in coming to a solution besides us leaving. We did not stay and had to leave.
We had a friends get together and enjoyed several ‘small plates ‘ from the shared menu and the heirloom tomato salad. Everything was delicious. The service was timely and attentive and unrushed. We had plenty of time to catch up . We were lucky enough to enjoy the open air rooftop section. Definitely will return.
Service and staff were excellent! Had appetizers and drinks. Noise level was a bit too loud outside, we were kindly moved further inside. Quite nice if looking for a spot close to MSG and Penn Station, an alternative to the pub grub the area generally offers.
Crispy Burrata appetizer was awesome but the entrees (burger and salad) just weren’t that good at alll. A $62 bill for an app and two entrees with no cocktails is ridiculous for a meal that was ok at best
I was a bit disappointed that the rooftop bar was not open for breakfast, but then I just assumed it would be and should have called to check. Perhaps this needs to be made clear on the website so that people who might want to come for the rooftop experience do not leave unhappy.
But I would also like to say that despite this little hitch, the food was excellent, those pancakes were nice and fluffy and the bacon slabs were sinfully delicious! My friend also loved the avocado toast. Overall a generally very good experience. I would go back for the rooftop bar though. Soon!
Perfect place to go before a show. Service was outstanding as was the food. Prices are far less than anywhere else. Nice casual location
Well, first, we weren’t seated at hightop location which is stated on my reservation. The receptionist could’ve more attentive to details. They were like three high school girls gossiping about a sexy gym teacher. I walked in and asked about my friends who were seated first, I was told to come in and find them. Secondly, our server: ok. She could use some smile and warmth when asking our orders instead of side-eyeing my visiting Swiss friends when she can’t understand what they are saying. She took our group pics tho after we were told that we should wait for that cuz she’s busy. Finally, my food, Belgian waffles with fried chicken etc. The chef was too generous in salting like I’m spooning straight from the salt jar. I barely finished it, otherwise, I’ll end up in NY-Presbyterian Hospital for acute attack of hypertension. The plating was good tho. Instagram-worthy. I’m disappointed. I could’ve gone to another place where the ambiance is more cordial and the food is seasoned spot on! Will I come back? Maybe, if I’m guaranteed of a better service and sodium chloride is used sparingly. Just my two cents.
been there twice and the food was marvelous! Great atmosphere !
We sat on the patio, so we had to order at the bar. The bartender took about 5 minutes to come take our order even though no one was sitting up there. She were standing at the end of the bar looking at her phone. Then once the I ordered she return with the bill, which had a wrong charge. I had to eventually walk down to her because after about 5-7 minutes she had never came back. I explained the issue of overcharge and she told me I was incorrect. I explained the prices are clearly stated on the menu, and she told me that I would need to go ahead and pay the price she charged because it’s what my wife ordered. She stated “well, it’s what she (my wife) wanted so you don’t really have a choice (not to pay).” I decided to not argue and instead took the money out of her tip to pay the difference. Unprofessional. Then as I’m signing the check I see my food come out (yes, it took long enough to place the order that the kitchen already made the appetizer) and go to the wrong table. The man working behind the bar with the woman who took my order tried to stop the order from going to the wrong table but was unsuccessful. He went over and immediately grabbed it and told the girl who took my order that she put it In wrong. I told him it was my order and took it out to our table myself, as I walked outside irrigated I’m about the situation. The rest of the food came out ok, and the atmosphere was nice.
Food was very disappointing.
The place it’s great, perfect location and beautiful rooftop
The service was so bad
We asked the server what drink she recommended, answer was “up to you, we have everything”
Something we didn’t order was coming to the table, in a sarcastic way she said “yeah that it’s ni spinach” at the end in the check was the item we didn’t order, so we have to remembered her about that
Food was not bad, not good but pricey for what they offered
The tip was included of course, make sense for a table for 6, but sadly was 20% of a very bad service
After work drinks great!
Went to Versa prior to the Billy Joel concert along with many other patrons in the restaurant doing the same. They were a lively concert going group which made the restaurant noise level a bit to loud for communication without shouting. This should be a decision factor for anyone considering going there. The food was good, but it was served at "let's turn the table" speed. The restaurant seems like a good place for an after the office gathering rather than conversational dining.
Mediocre food, poor service but the ambiance was great
food Was very good and not that expensive for such a place in NYC!
It was one of the cooler August days in NYC and we sat adjacent to the outdoor space. We asked to partially close the door or move inside. We were told inside was colder than where we were. There was a guy standing by the door and he closed the door so that we could enjoy our dinner in not so cold environment.
BTW: the endless summer cocktail was amazing!
We enjoyed our brunch at Versa out on the covered patio. The food was good, atmosphere was chill, and it was a great change from the streets.
The restaurant was decent. The drinks were amazing. I would give it a better rating if the food was worth the price. I didn’t finish the Shrimp & Grits because it wasn’t that good and came out a little cold. I would’ve had it sent back, except the waiter didn’t really check on us that often. Also, it took about 30 minutes for them to pick up my card, after it took about 20 minutes for us to finally have the manager get it, after asking if we were okay. All in all, don’t really waste your money, unless is a large group and you’re not in a hurry. There was a large group across from us that saw 3 different waitresses at any moment.
Three of us went to Sunday brunch here, it was great food, atmosphere, service and value. I highly recommend Versa!
The buffet was cold and the waiters were all over the place even though the restaurant wasn’t even that full.
We attended Versa for a bachelorette dinner but were let down with the service that we were given. Our waitress rarely checked up on us or checked to see if we wanted to order any more drinks. The restaurant was not busy. It also is advertised as a rooftop restaurant but it’s on the fifth floor with some outside space. When I informed the manager about our poor service he just accepted the information but didn’t offer something to entice us to come back. Very sad experience for a joyous occasion.
The latte and shrimp and grits were amazing! Also the service was swift and our waiter was fabulous :)
Gorgeous space, plenty of room. Our server was absolutely terrible. There are about 150 tables in the place and only 4 were occupied so she wasn’t busy. Her attitude sucked, she rolled her eyes when we tried to flag her down to order, then get clean plates, then get what we actually ordered, then to get another round. She was so off putting, and as a NY’er that’s saying a lot.
The drinks were good and the food was okay.
We went to Versa on a Friday night for drinks, apps and dinner. The food was very good but the service was just okay. The outside areas was nice and had a vibrant atmosphere. The music was really good. I recommend this place if you are in the area.
Great location and ambiance. Service could be a bit better - especially when you're there for a business lunch with clients.
I went here for my birthday due to a friend working there, and we had the most amazing time. The service was amazing. The food was excellent. My only complaint was that the inside of the restaurant and the outside were playing two different types of music, which was a little annoying. But everything else was so amazing its very easy to look past it. I highly recommend going!
Went for brunch; food was great, portions fair and served hot, presentation was nice. However, service seemed disorganized and unprepared, (waited over 5 minutes for salt and pepper shakers then waited another 5 for ketchup). Ordered a bloody mary and server remembered there was no vodka in it as he placed it in front of me, so had to wait another 5 minutes for that. Became comical, but should not happen, especially when there were only 4 other tables seated at the time. Hopefully they'll get there act together soon because the food definitely did not disappoint.
Our appetizer came out AFTER our dinner! Food was excellent but service was slow and poor.
The smallest pour of wine I have ever had at a restaurant.
We decided st the last minute to make a reservation at Versa before a show at MSG. I would go back just for Versa! The food, staff, decor, drinks all excellent! And a great value for NYC.
Extremely slow service. We had to flag our server multiple times, one time by waking up to her at a different table.
get atmosphere, wish there was more summer salad options a lot of dinner meals
Our impossible burgers had cheese on them even tho we asked not to put any. So we had to wait another 20 min for an order. Waitress was always busy and it was hard to catch her to get drinks.
They ignored our birthday request and then asked if we wanted a piece of cake to go!! Drinks were warm, server was cold. Rooftop means balcony off the 5th floor. Better off at jack sullivans next door.
Service was very inattentive and their oven was not working so the menu was very limited. No one told us this before we made the reservation or when we sat down so we were really disappointed. You'd also think they'd compensate us somehow for the limited menu with free dessert or something, but nope. I will not be going back
There was a limited menu due to some maintenance being done in the kitchen. I had only made the reservation the day prior, so I should have been informed.
Great service and staff. The place is great that you can choose to sit under open light or in the more enclosed area. Love their veggie burger! The Lavazza Nitro Brew was perfect to end the meal and get back to work.
