The place was empty and despite a reservation for nine they give us lounge area. I had to convince them to give us a table which we had reserved. Service was incredibly slow and poor. They probably would’ve sold another 30+ drinks to us had they come by. At one point we were going to the bar to get our own drinks. Food was being served without utensils, plates, and we would have to ask numerous times to get those basics. The flat bread is Not flat bread, it’s pizza. Some of the food was pretty good but nothing mind blowing. The ambience was sparse And I had a cold feeling to it. Our server was nice but still don’t understand why everything was so slow and so off. Incredibly disappointed especially since I had 10 people come out for a birthday party.
The only problem was the valet we paid $85 to use it because was no where else to park and we have 2 kids!
They should offer some discount when dinning up the stairs !
We were looking for a breakfast restaurant close to Macy's and this is the one! It's a rooftop restaurant where the tables aren't stacked on top of each other. You can actually talk without yelling. The food was excellent - from avocado toast with poached egg to a spicy tomato egg dish. The service couldn't have been better.
Fun place, lot of energy! A $2.00 up charge for (ice) rocks, was a little bazaar!
Overall we will be back!
The food at VERSA was excellent, as were the cocktails. You definitely cannot beat the location which is super convenient to Penn Station. However, the terrace, which was enclosed, was unbelievably loud. Not in a fun way, just loud. Our conversation was basically yelling throughout the entire meal. So if you want to save your eardrums and talk to someone during your meal, sit inside.
I had lunch here last week and when my friend was coming into town this week from Maine to see the Springsteen show, I thought this would be the perfect place. I had the organic whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce both times, but everyone else was very pleased with their meals. They also had a great happy hour at the bar, with drinks and nipples 1/2 price.
The food was really good the Versa burger and hummus appetizer is my favorite. It was a Friday night at 7 so it was loud but it was to be expected. Service was great and food came out fast. All around a great place to grab a quick dinner or drinks.
Such a great scene, the perfect happy hour spot! Prime location
The place is great and vibrant, but the music was way too loud and it was truly hard to have a conversation without having to yell. I think the restaurant was great but way too noisy.
Best breakfast meeting venue near Penn Station. Terrific ambience, quiet enough to have a business conversation, excellent service, very good food. The sports radio show as a visual background is a plus.
Great place, nice sharers and wine!
Food was not good
very noisy in the terrace area
mostly just a sports bar
This place is advertised as an upscale restaurant on the rooftop. But in reality it’s a sports bar, there was an 8 year old birthday party going on and a college tailgate
Great and delicious, highly recommended!!!
the food under Rock and Reilly's (prior to it becoming Versa) was tastier, at least the salad, which is what I usually order. The venu and ambience is very good, but the food was better before but still good. Good place for business lunch and a much needed scenic reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Penn Station area.
Great choice for a business lunch
Good food made this place a "good find"- .
Nice discount for Knicks season Ticket holders.
Very cool venue..
After the show dining - very nice. A bit noisy - there was a private party in the adjacent bar area and their music was loud. Otherwise very nice
Excited because it was one of the few upscale restaurants close in midtown and close to Penn Station. The hostess was inappropriate and rude; the food was overpriced and average and the service was slow. Never again.
Perfect spot for a pre-MSG outing.
Stopped in for a few cocktails and grab a bite to eat before the Elton John concert! Cocktails, Food, & Service was Awesome!
Will definitely be back, highly recommend!!
Outdoor seating was uncomfortably loud.
Met a couple of friends for pre-MSG concert drinks and dinner. Lots of room at the bar for a drink. Table was ready on time for our reservation and service was efficient and friendly. The appetizers, food and drinks came quickly. Menu has good selection and the food was fresh and tasty. Really loved the crispy burrata with vodka sauce, the beet salad was refreshing; and the Spaetzle that came with the Chicken Milanese was one of the best that I've had in a long time! Overall, great vibe, although as the room fills up, noise level gets really loud. Would recommend dinner or drinks here!
Food was good (we ordered hamburgers.) Service was exceedingly poor. We waited 15 minutes and I finally had to grab the busboy to get our waiter. He took the order and delivered the food promptly (we told him we were in a hurry to get to a show.) Then my wife asked for a cup of coffee and 15 minutes later I had to chase down the waiter and tell him to forget the coffee and just bring the check. After the check arrived, so did the coffee. To be fair, he comped us the coffee and took 20% off the bill. However, the Yelp reviews talk about nice NYC skyline views, but you have to look through a room that had a private party in it. Overall not what I expected. Won't be returning again given the multitude of other restaurants in NYC.
Menu needs a couple more comfort food items
Great experience from the moment we walked in. We made reservations online through OpenTable, which was very easy. We arrived earlier than expected and they had our table ready anyway. No wait time. The couple in front of us didn't have a reservation and was told there was a 20 minute wait. Which is reasonable. The server was very attentive. He gave us time to decide without pressure and was right there when we were ready to order. Also checked on us often for drink orders and to see if we were satisfied. The food was a little expensive but nothing out of the ordinary for NYC. When the food came it was presented very nicely and was absolutely delicious.
Loved this place! Great location. Yummy food. Great drinks. Trendy ambiance. Great crowd
Love the roof top patio! Great space with natural light.
Great spot for either a business lunch or casual food with friends. All the food options are very, very good - none of them are going to lead you astray.
Restaurant is located inside hotel at their rooftop bar. The atmosphere is great. It was raining when we went but we still got the rooftop vibe without getting wet. The decor is chic and fun and you feel like your outside when your not. They do have outdoor seating though (not in rain obviously). The service was quick but we were there at 5pm. Food is pricey but delicious. We got pumpkin fries and K town wings, both great! I got cacio e pepe for dinner- not great, there was no pepe on it. The waitress even said she was going to ask the kitchen if they forgot the pepper, but she never came back with the answer. My husband got an impossible burger and loved it. Overall, I would go back for the atmosphere. Seems like a good location for a drink and an appetizer. The hotel bar on the floor above is also a gem. We went to use the bathroom and ended up having another drink there, the decor was awesome and you could sit by the big windows and just look a the skyline, it was very relaxing!
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We tried the versa burger and to our amazement it was absolutely delicious and paired well with a glass of Malbec. The dark chocolate espresso ice cream was also a great choice for a simple sweet treat. The weather was rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the open area dining, but overall my boyfriend and I had a great time at Versa before walking only a couple of blocks over to MSG for a concert. We would definitely go back again.
The burger was exceptionally tasty, in fact , all foods tried left my mouth happy due to lots of flavor explosions! Presented well on the plate and several NY local beers available. Good vibe. Would recommend.
Eric the manager was amazing and so welcoming! Great experience!
Since it changed from Rock & Reilly's to Versa - the love of this place has gone. I've been there 3 times, and have had terrible service. If the place was crowded, you'd understand it, but when you see your waiter behind the bar (with 3 bartenders) just standing there, it becomes frustrating. The menu went from fantastic to awful. Cannot understand what the thought process was when they striped the menu and didn't properly train staff.
When it was R&R, a manager would walk around and ask how everything was - I don't think there is a manager.
Poor poor poor. Stay away.
The food was delicious but the service was beyond terrible. Between how slow the kitchen was and us having to keep flagging down the staff, we would definitely not go back.
Great meal before a show at MSG. Service was stellar.
Place is good for a bite. There really is no Dinner menus there.
Not the best of selections to date. They do have a great staff
Always a go-to restaurant for dinner before an event at MSG or entertaining a client from out of town. Out door space has great view of NYC and the hotel is one of the best in midtown. Great bar and friendly staff.
The atmosphere is very cool and the portion of pancakes was large. But service was plainly distracted and some of us got dirty silverware. I wouldn't go back.
Nice ambiance, but the food wasn’t good at all. We left hungry.
