It is closed!!! So not great to accept a reservation!!
This restaurant is closed; we arrived and there was brown paper covering the windows. Thanks for ruining our Sunday plans.
They were closed
I made a reservation and walked over to find out the restaurant was being renovated. We spoke with the handyman who told me to reach out to the owner to see what he can do. My wife was not happy with me that friday night!
Vero was closed for renovations. Would have been nice if that information was available on Open Table before we arrived.
RESTURANT IS SHUT DOWN
I made a rez but they were closed for renovation. Ruined my evening plans
Great happy hour spot
Disappointing. Over cooked meatballs. Poor lay out. Klutzy and inattentive wait staff.
Without question, this restaurant is a standout anywhere, especially on the Upper Eastside where your options for a decent meal at a reasonable price in a warm setting is rare. From the moment I walked in to the establishment, the owner/management could not be more friendly and inviting. Service is with detail and they aim to please. They don't rush you- they're there to serve you and fulfill your needs. The flatbreads were very good, as well as the other side dishes ordered. I'll definitely be back again!
There wasn’t a waitress, only people in the restaurant and took 15 minutes to get served, drinks were terrible, bartender does not know how to correctly garnish drinks, front staff were at the bar drinking, not working
Food was wonderful for such a hidden gem. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Very small space , but delicious wine and tapas
Nice quiet place for meeting and low key evening drinks
Very tasty food, with nice variety of salads, pannini, bruschetta, pizzas, all good for sharing. Excellent cocktail and wine list. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Small space but cozy with good lounge music
It was not what we expected.... we thought it was a regular restaurant and not a drinking place with little food....
Stopped by Vero's on Friday night. Nice friendly local crowd. Had a bottle of Cabernet along with a personal pizza and then a little later I had the Caprese which was very tasty.
My truffle and Mac and cheese was an hour late, and burned partially when it finally arrived. My girlfriend's flatbread pizza was an hour and 15 mins late and not that good. Fortunately the waitress was very nice and understanding, but we will not be returning.
Nice place for smaller gatherings. Great food and interesting specials. Perfect place for groups of 2 or 4. Am Italian place with no pasta may sound off but the panini's and stuffed meatballs can carry on without it.
The food was excellent, the waiter was entertaining and helpful. All four of us enjoyed our meals. We were given an opportunity to chat, without feeling pressure to leave.
Really nice people and attentive friendly staff...was a little noisy and nothing special in terms of decor or atmosphere but it was a happy place and good if you're looking for a middle of the road solid place to grab a glass of wine or cocktail and some bites...
I was not very impressed by Vero. I thought their sangria was overly sweet and tasted like it didn't even have any alcohol in it. The food was just okay. I went here for dinner on a weekend and it was pretty dead. The only time I'd ever come back here is for their happy hour deal.
Excellent meal and service. The waiter was very accommodating and eager to serve. The food was outstanding. I had the kale and quinoa salad with fresh yellow fin tuna.
I've been going here for a while and the menu has definitely improved as of recently. Definitely recommend trying out the meatball panini!
I came here for a quick drink and decided to have a bite to eat while I was here. I love paninis and was suprised to see they have a short rib panini on the menu. I don't think I've seen that before so I had to order it. Absolutely outstanding! I also ordered the tuna tartare as well which was great.
Adorable little spot on 2nd avenue. This has become one of my favorite outdoor spots to enjoy a glass of wine and people watch. The food is great/consistent and the sangria selection is huge so you can try something new every time. The service can be slow at times, but it's only a minor gripe as my experiences as a whole have been very positive. Would definitely recommend here for a date.
This place is basically the definition of a date spot. I went inside to get a glass of wine and sat among a crowded bar. Decided to look at a menu and ordered a turkey panini and the tuna tartare. The panina was good, the tartare was OUSTANDING although a bit pricey. In this case you definitely get what you pay for. I stayed at the bar for a few more drinks and it seemed everyone here was eager to chat with other bar patrons. The manager introduced herself to me and was very hospitable as well. Just a very fun place to be in general and an even better place to meet people.
Had a great dinner here. Started off with the servers recommendation on a Montepulciano and wow a great wine. Enjoyed it with our dinner which consisted of Lamb Meatballs, Bruschetta, Tuna Tartar, and Panna Cotta for dessert. Enjoyed every bit of it. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Also, had cocktails with dessert and they have a surprisingly good cocktail list for a Wine bar. Overall good value. Definitely a go to date spot. Will definitely be returning.
Cramped, limited food items (but understandable for a wine bar), and quality just ok. Not terrible but not memorable.
Every time I go here it's a new error, this week I had a reservation for 9:30 pm Saturday and when I got there she said no reservation even with the proof on the phone and they didn't even try to get me in..done done done
A disappointing experience, except for the guy who waited out table and made our drinks. He was great. And the prices are fine.
But beware: the menu is very limited and the quality of the food is simply not up to New York standards. The music is loud. There's no atmosphere; it's closer to a dive bar than an UES restaurant.
We were the only people there at 7:30. By 8:30, one other couple was sharing the restaurant (all on a Sunday evening). Not surprising, I suppose, but certainly unappetizing.
This is such a wonderful restaurant. After all, it's where I shared my first date with my husband. The food is great, very romantic and excellent service.
Who rates the restaurants
This is s 20 something joint not a great place
Loud, kitchen in dining room that smells. Entire space needs to be painted, polished and re-thought.
This was a beautiful charming wine bar with clean smart design when it first opened.
I have another good go-to spot now for a special cocktail and tasty bites. I'll be back
Great food, wine, service and ambiance! This is not just a wine bar. This is a full service restaurant and the one dessert option is also amazing.
LOVE! Vero is so cute and fun! The food is just right! Great portion size and delicious wines to pair with (and the staff makes great reco's). Definitely a fun night with friends if you're not looking for just a bar scene.
My wife loved her tortelli (I would order it too, based on the bite I had) and I also loved my Truffle Mac N Cheese with Prosciutto. The noise level was a little loud, but that's to be expected in a smaller space with tables as close as they are. It's NYC, so what are you going to do? We've been here before for paninis, but glad we came back to try the pasta. Good wine listing as well.
Had a light dinner here - shared a couple of plates. The turkey panini was delicious the pizzas where not as impressive. The food is good and the wine is delicious. This place is small and cozy you have to be ok with sitting very close to your neighbors!
I struggle for fairness here, while the food was very tasty, the portions were (as stated on a few reviews) small to say the least
Our server was very good until he was called on to deliver a phone order (a first for us)
Overall, doubtful if we will return
