   This is a large airy restaurant with modern lines, yet it retains sufficient coziness. Very high ceilings help with what would no doubt be otherwise be a loud busy venue. Excellent seafood, including a spectacular whole grilled Bronzino which retained its intact appearance despite having been skilfully deboned prior to serving. That said, prices are generally at expense-account levels despite a diverse and informal crowd.

    Vernick Fish was a pleasant surprise. We found the restaurant on line last minute place to go before the 76rs game. We walked into the recurrent and were pleasantly surprised by the upscale trendy look. We were escorted to our seats at the chef counter where we were entertained by the masterful preparation of our meals. Our Cocktails were prepared and served to perfection by the very well trained and knowledgeable wait staff. the whole experience was one to remember, and we wont hesitate to visit again.

    Overall, an expensive but excellent experience. Only misstep was a breaded & fried swordfish entree - a preparation that totally negates the presumed freshness and excellent flavor of the fish.

    We came for a surprise birthday dinner. The food was outstanding. Presentation was perfect and the taste was to die for. The wait staff was on their A game from start to finish. The menu was simple, yet diverse. The price was what you would expect for a 5 star dining experience. I definitely feel we got everything we paid for plus plus plus.

    Excellent dining experience. Not one area that could use improvement. We especially appreciated the “chef’s table” counter and low noise level/ambience. Professionalism of staff was outstanding. If you ever want to see a well-run organization that embraces 5S lean manufacturing practices for high quality food go here. Everyone on staff (kitchen to front end) had constant functions to perform to keep this restaurant performing at optimal levels. Food and presentation was outstanding. Octopus and Scallop crudo small plates especially stood out. Amazing flavor packed in each bite. If you want a high end Philadelphia dining experience this is a must visit spot.

    This was the best meal we've had in a long time. We tried a crudo, the octopus small plate, 3 main dishes, the cheesecake, and a seasonal dessert. Every dish was well presented and delicious. The sauces were superb. If you enjoy seafood, I highly recommend dining here.

    Very underwhelmed. The food was disappointing. I had the swordfish, which I typically love (Vernick fried it and it tasted like a fish stick) and my wife got the steak (12oz ny sirloin). We tried a couple of sides and one small plate as well. We only really enjoyed one dish (the small plate - tuna sausage was very well done), the rest was underwhelming to poor. We did get the clear Long Island drink and enjoyed that. Server Corey was very good. As a stand alone meal, it was meh to less than meh. When you factor in the price, the value plummets. Wish I could say nicer things, but our experience was mutual and neither of us would return.

    Not our first time with Vernick, but our first time at Vernick Fish. A truly handsome modern space (we appreciate the generous spacing of the tables in this world) from beginning to end this was a multiple michelin star experience. Our server, excuse my gray hair I forgot her name, from England was engaging and profoundly knowledgeable on the menu and its flavors. Her suggestions were absolutely spot on. The Asst. General Manger Neil came by to see if all was well and brought my wife a perfect wine pairing for her entree. It should be no surprise that a Greg Vernick restaurant has superior cooking and interesting flavors. From the simple things like the butter with bread through the raw and small plates and entree everything was superior. A rare treat even at the best. We had the red snapper ceviche and its amazing broth, the octopus, which was very, very tender, the whole branzino, sorbet and a special dessert, a persimmon rice pudding that sincerely ranks among the most delicious in memory. We are an older couple; life has been good to us and we enjoy an occasional night out to a great restaurant. New York, Philadelphia, east coast, Europe---Vernick Fish and Vernick Food and Drink stand with any we have enjoyed over the decades.

    Great ambience and solid food though not quite to the level of the Walnut Street flagship. A little disappointed by the breaded swordfish but the rest of our meals were very good. For a high end restaurant (there were 6 of us, total bill over $1000), the service was on the lax and unenthusiastic side. A good experience overall but value is a little suspect. Will try again.

    It was our first experience dining at Vernick Fish. The experience exceeded our expectations. The food selections were unique but had something for everyone. From the fresh oysters to the delicious octopus app, we enjoyed every course. Everything was timed to perfection and the food was amazing. We will definitely return!
