Vernick Fish presents Philadelphia’s own, Chef Greg Vernick’s exploration beyond the boundaries of a seafood restaurant. His ingredient-driven cooking style, paired with a love for global flavors, results in an inventive menu of fish and shellfish dishes, and a range of vegetable preparations. Taking a detailed, seasonal, and sustainable approach with small and large plate offerings, the kitchen brings new life to the favorite hallmarks of American oyster bar fare and raw bar. Complementing the experience are well-crafted cocktails, and a focused wine list of seafood-friendly white and sparkling offerings, as well as light, fresh reds.

Kind of disappointed with my experience might be because it was end of night but waiting staff didn't seem very interested like other restaurants in city. I enjoyed our oysters and shrimp cocktail very good. The swordfish was excellent also but our sea bass dish was very bitter became impossible to finish very disappointing. Lastly the cornbread pudding was very good. I tried to tell waitstaff about sea bass but was Ignored never have experienced that at such a fine establishment before overall 3 out of 5 rating from me

Took 20 mins to get seated despite late reservations. Thought a drink comp would have been nice. Service was decent. Food was ok for the steep price. Wouldn’t return

we had a 745pm reservation and got there at 740. Checked in and were told to wait by the bar and a server would come by and take our drink order. That never happened even after I went to the bar and asked a bartender. I also went back and asked the hostess and still no one came over. I asked for the manager after about 15mins and he came over and was very apologetic. He gave us a round of drinks on the house ($100 value or more). We were finally seated at approx. 8pm...rare to be seated that late at a fine dining restaurant but it was very busy Saturday night. The booth we had was right next to an entrance/exit door that is in the middle of the restaurant. Also they do not enforce their dress code policy at all. Many people in sneakers and jeans and worse. Disappointing. The food was outstanding. We had the fluke ceviche, tuna tartare twice...I had the panko crusted halibut--best fish I've ever had. Everything was outstanding. Service was not exceptional. It was $800 with tip (4). For that amount it should be exceptional. I would go back but only with my wife.

The ingredients are good but the food is overall too salty. I didn’t really enjoy a single dish. Didn’t like the combo of flavors and everything is overpowered by the salt. Only thing I liked was the bread. Very mediocre. Which was disappointing because I love the other Vernick in rittenhouse.

Originally booked for a bar high top but switched to the lovely elegant dining room. Service was exactly what you would like in a fine dining atmosphere. We tried for lunch and look forward to dinner here very soon.

An excellent meal all around: superior staff, well cultivated menu (compact, but with something to suit everyone), quiet modern space.

The food was fantastic and sitting at the chef's counter is always fun. The biggest disappointment was the service, which I can't say was bad but rather just not up to the level you would expect from the restaurant.
