Had the grouper for an entrée and it was fried to the point that it could have been microwave fish sticks but with less flavor. Wine selection by the glass was poor especially for the cost. Between the two of us we ordered for appetizers two small plates and an entrée and the server was pushing us to order more food. Will not be returning anytime soon

Literally everything we had was delicious; Chef knows how to season things properly! Highlights were the Scallop Crudo and the Squid Ink Tagliatelle with Seafood Sausage, but everything was amazing. Server was friendly and attentive, ambiance good. Can’t say enough good things.

This was our first time dining here and we had a great experience. My husband and I sat at a high top table which was a great location and the main dining area and chefs bar looked great as well. We ordered the baby gem salad with a terrific tarragon dressing, the asparagus with strawberries, and the whole bronzino. All of the dishes were elegant, imaginative and excellent. I love to cook and hate going to an expensive restaurant that serves dishes that I could have made but these were far better than anything I could make. The wine selection was also very good and all of the staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel very welcomed. Will definitely add into our restaurant rotation.

Crudo on bread? Ambiance lacking. Want to have a romantic dinner on a fake-wood plastic table looking like it is set for breakfast buffet in the morning? This is the place! I won't say the food is awful, but if you've ever had ceviche in Peru (or even NYC) than you will be disappointed. The menu looks like it was developed by a Holiday Inn restaurant manager from Iowa who read a couple Conde Nast magazines (no offense to Holiday Inn or Iowa) I can only recommend sitting at the bar for dates #1-3 as it is not very noisy and the bar is nice.

Vernick Fish is the City's elite seafood restaurant. Don't expect any bargains. The cheapest glass of wine on the menu is $17 and the rest of the wines by the glass are as high as $24 a glass. Appetizers are in the mid $20s--entrees average around $36. But for special occasions, Vernick Fish is worth the visit. Ample portions of creatively prepared varieties of fish are featured. One of the outstanding appetizers can easily be shared--the squid ink tagliatelle with tuna sausage served out of the casing and finely shredded broccoli rabe. Figure around $85 per person with a drink and tip included. The night we dined there, a large family with two small children sat next to us. Not exactly the ambience you're expecting on a rainy Saturday night in this beautiful restaurant. My feeling is that doesn't happen often.

High Reputation sets the bar high so they are in a jam. I'm sympathetic to food costs a pricing a menu plus labor shortage but then there's the patron ! Dummy down menu to the point of cocktails only. #faithinthefuture

The location was disappointing in view of the website information. The lead server was less than attentive and bread request and drink refills were very slow in light of the number of open tables. The experience was saved by the food which was very good and different.

This was a perfect meal. Got some raw oysters (expensive, way too expensive, but delicious), the broiled "oysters Philly," smoked salmon with parmesan and quail eggs (amazing: wanted to get another round for dessert), tuna carpaccio (another must), hamachi credo with uni and jalapeño (yes, don't skip this one), and saffron tagliatelle. The ice creams--strawberry balsamic and caramelized banana)--were pitch perfect, just the right way to end. Can't wait to come back here, again and again and again.
