   We had a reservation at 6:15pm on NYE. We arrived at 6:10pm and waited at the hostess table for at least 10 minutes for someone to check us in. The restaurant staff appeared to be completely overwhelmed and under staffed. While waiting for over 30 minutes to be seated, we saw two different tables get up and leave because no one had come to their table. We decided to leave after that. We may try again on a normal weekday night.

   Sadly, Veritas was severely understaffed for not only for it being New Year’s Eve but also the final night for Drinks and Deception. 3 servers for the entire restaurant. One bartender. Mediocre food. Our server did a fantastic job, especially with it being her FIRST TIME serving. Talk about being thrown to the wolves. Despite many others getting up and walking out, my date and I stayed. I’d gladly give it another try when fully-staffed.

   I had planned my reservation two weeks in advance for a special New Year’s Eve reservation to celebrate our recent engagement. This reservation was for before the drinks and deceptions show. It took 30minutes past our reservation to get seated. Once seated, it took another 20minutes for the server to acknowledge us and say she would be back. During this time, the manager asked if we had been served, but we had not. The manager left and did not help with serving any food or drinks. It looks like our waitress was the only one around except for a few bus people. We then said we had a show coming up at 8 PM and the waitress could not verify that they’d have our food out to us within the next hour. We ended up walking out and having our perfect evening destroyed. I will never come back again.

   This was the worst experience we’ve ever had at Veritas. We were seated on time, however, it took 10 to 15 minutes before our server came to our table. We put in drinks and appetizer order and it took another 20 minutes before our drinks arrived. About 45 minutes later we received our appetizers; we decided not to continue dining as not all of them were delivered.  We were not the only patrons that were upset, we witnessed another couple angrily get up and leave after waiting a long time for drinks. I will definitely rethink about dining here again. Veritas pretty much ruined what should’ve been a nice New Year’s Eve dinner.

   It took 40 minutes just to put in a drink order. Salads came out with our steaks almost an hour after ordering. Worst service I have ever experienced.

   No Christmas music playing. No candles on the table. Charging 3% to use a credit card. Steak was ordered medium rare... got medium well. It was tough.

   We visited Veritas for dinner before attending the Drinks & Deception show upstairs. Upon arrival, the restaurant had a moderate crowd, but we quickly noticed that very few tables had food, which raised concerns about timing. It took about 10 minutes before a hostess even arrived to seat the three waiting parties they were at the door, suggesting they might have been understaffed or in the midst of a shift change. Once seated, the wait times for both food and drinks were noticeably long, which made it a bit stressful given our plans for the evening. Despite the delays, Veritas offers a fairly priced menu and a pleasant ambiance. I’d consider returning in the future, hoping they address the staffing and wait-time challenges.

   2 of our drinks were overpriced and not good, 3 other drinks were decent. Service was very slow at the bar and at the table, food took about an hour and it wasn’t busy. Mixed up steak add ons and cook temperature. All steaks were very salty. Chicken in the Alfredo was dry and over cooked and the sauce was very oily. Steak Sammy was best thing at the table. Have been here previously and enjoyed it. Should have listened to the recent reviews. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

   I’ve been to Veritas roughly a dozen times in the last year and a half. All have been great until tonight. Service was disrespectfully slow. 90 minutes in to being sat and 45 minutes after ordering, our food was no where in sight. The Calamari we order was less than 10 Pieces of actual Calamari and a whole lot of fried breading crumbs, our drinks were average at best. When we ordered our second drinks it took over 25 minutes to get them. When the waitress came to clear our appetizer plate we mentioned our drinks had been sitting on the end of the bar for 10 Minutes. She told us those were not our drinks. 10 Minutes later she grabbed the same drinks, that were not ours, and brought them to us. In all my years of eating at restaurants I have never just got up and left until tonight. I told my better half I regret not going to Knights steak house. After leaving we stopped and picked up a pizza and then went home to our son. I suggest not waisting your time here and going elsewhere.
