Top notch food and service. Nice wine list. Service was personal, attentive without being intrusive.
We celebrated Father's Day here, so they had a special menu. Every item we ordered was delicious. The scallop risotto with gruyere, crab cakes, pistachio budino, mussels, pasta, all was terrific. We passed the dishes around for everyone to taste and there were no misses. The only real suggestion I would have for them would be to provide smaller portions. While some dishes were conducive to bringing home, others, like scallops, really would not have reheated as well. Smaller portions might have had more in our party order dessert, but we were bursting as it was. Overall, thrilled with our find - it was our first time, but won't be the last.
We went for Father’s Day and the food as well as the service was amazing!
A beautiful meal and a fantastic experience! We highly recommend the tasting menus.
The restaurant is cute- very rustic and fun. The food was pretty good, but a little overpriced in my opinion. The meal portions were good, however, the appetizer portions were quite small. It is worth trying for a special occasion. The service is superb!
Everything was amazing!!!
The food was incredible and the service was impeccable!!! I highly recommend!
Veritá is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious, the service is great, and the ambiance fantastic!
Great food and great service. The restaurant decor is unique and cozy. The manager very engaged in the customers experience. Would highly recommend
We typically order seafood dishes here and they are always fresh and tasty! Stellar service and ambiance. Compares to the best Italian we’ve ever had in major cities (Chicago, Boston). Highly recommended!
We had a great experience at Verita Batavia with a special dinner and movie! But o love to go on wed evening when there is music upstairs. I have also placed orders for meat and cheese trays for events. AlwYs outstanding!
Food and service were great. Tables were way too close. Had really annoying conversation on both sides of us. Probably won't be back for that reason.
I would give more stars if I could. Best food ever.
This is my favorite restaurant! Always consistent, stellar service and fantastic food. The chefs tasting and wine pairing never disappoints and they wonderfully accommodate any food sensitivities. It’s a must visit!!
We love this place. Wendy, the owner, is changing the name to Verita, but it remains a treasure. The food is amazing (the vegan entree they made for me was fabulous). Freddie, our server always remembers us. A must visit place to eat.
We go to Gaetano's quite a bit. Talked to the owner and found out that the name will change, but everything else will remain the same. Wendy, good luck with "Verita". We will be back!
This place never disappoints. Outstanding food and beverage with great service and warm atmosphere.
Made reservation mere hours before and there was no problem getting our reservation. The service was right on. Sully, our server was the best. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! You really need to experience this restaurant. You’ll be back again I guarantee it.
We have never been here and thought it would be a good time to explore this nice italian/grill restaurant right along downtown Batavia, and from there we were wonderfully surprised. We sat outside and had one of the nicest and most peaceful dinners we have had together, coupled with it feeling romantic. We were the only people out there, and enjoyed the quiet street at the time, the soft halogen lights overhead, flowers around, and ambiance music playing. We were delighted from the wine list, to the menu options from start to finish. Our server was fairly new, saying we were his 4th table of all time but he was genuine, knew the menu well, and gave recommendations. My girlfriend and I each had a glass of wine, the calamari steak, she had the house salad, and I the beet salad, then she had the Scallops Dinner and I had the Wild Boar Tenderloin and finished it off with an almond semifreddo for dessert. Each meal was exquisite, had a nice variety of flavor and textures, and was wonderfully crafted and presented on the plate. We loved it and will definitely return again next time for some Pasta! Easily one of our Top 5 we have been to, and we are foodies and like to try lots of new places all over Chicagoland. Well done Gaetano's!
Excellent, well over priced for pasta but the presentation equaled flavor. I can live with over paying when it’s great food and it was, great food great service all around great and I have to keep selling myself on that because $130 for pasta for 2 is still wow...you know?
Ok I’m over it...it’s great
Everyone at out table had something different and there wasn't a "miss" in the bunch. We were allowed a leisurely dinner, even though it was a Saturday evening and out server Katie was great. The drinks were good although a little higher in price than some of the competition. There were several things my wife and I saw on the menu that we will be back to try.
My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary there on the basis of a previous first visit last year.
Knowing the overall food quality, we were perplexed by the variety of temptations on their menu until we noted the "taster" options. The "Piccolo" taster was an obvious choice, providing six small varied appetizer dishes, two entrees (again, "small-plates" portions), and three small deserts. All wonderful. Not the cheapest night out, but worth every penny in all respects.
Great night of music, dancing and fun. Love it more and more everytime I go.
We look forward to the arrival of warm evenings, so we may dine on Gaetano’s patio. In our opinion, it’s one of the nicest settings in the Fox Valley area. Gaetano’s menu is fresh and the unique dishes are meant to be shared. Our favorite is the Tagliatelle posata tossed with lobster tail, shrimp, and shallots flamed with cognac.
Typical dining experience here. Great food. Great service. Great ambience.
Great meal, totally considerate of my gluten allergy.
It’s fresh, delicious, inventive flavor combinations with classic Italian style. Don’t miss out on the calamari appetizer. It’s out of this world incredible.
Four of us dined at Gaetano's and each of us had a different entree, all of which were excellent. We were fortunate enough to have Mike as our server who helped make the evening memorable! We were seated upstairs which could be a problem for seniors, so book early and request downstairs seating. although I think that is mentioned on the web site. Definitely a dining recommendation!
A veggie, seafood lover and carnivore all found their meals exceeded expectations. Ambiance is quirky and cozy. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. Batavia has a real gem.
Unique Italian quisiene outstanding food, nice wine list, great service
We love Gaetano's. You can't beat the fresh pasta and wine selection. The service was excellent. The decor on the 2nd level is a little too gypsy-like for me, but the food and service definitely outweigh it. We will be back again and again.
When we go to a restaurant the #1 thing we value is of course the quality of the food, everything else is relatively secondary while service and ambiance is also important.
I had the Rigatoni sausage and goat cheese entree which was excellent. My wife had the Chicken Lemon with garlic mashed potatoes which she said was outstanding. The service was impeccable with three servers waiting on us.
Gaetano’s is a small intimate establishment where you can enjoy food and drink in a friendly warm environment.
The only downside comment I would have is we were seated on the second level and the stairs were a bit steep and challenging to go up/down for older folks, but once there the dining room is unique and intimate and the setting was very nice.
Our experience was again superb - food and service were top notch. We WILL be back for sure.
Pomegranate martini was excellent. Calamari steak appetizer different and very good.
The service was great, and the food was exceptional!
Interesting and delicious combinations on traditional dishes. Pricey for western suburbs, but very high quality service and product.
Our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Never disappoints.
Incredibly fresh ingredients and a truly traditional vibe. A+
Very nice place with good Italian food. Large portions. Some traditional Italian dishes, but they specialize in unique new-wave dishes that are quite special. Great desserts.
Excellent food! First time here and we’ll be back.
Great food, great service, and intimate atmosphere. They do a fantastic job! We will be going back soon.
