You've come to the right place. Our entire menu is naturally gluten-free and we offer options for a wide variety of dietary lifestyles. Paleo-minded and Vegans unite! Our full bar features fresh squeezed cocktails, Mexican and local draft beers, a large selection of premium tequilas, and a delicious selection of wines.

Verde Cocina Hillsdale is our flagship café. Most of our indoor seating is located in our relaxed and vibrant upstairs dining area. A party of one or two might opt to pull up a seat at our full bar for happy hour or brunch. We also have a lovely outdoor patio area for prime al fresco dining during Portland's warmer months.

Great surprise. Cute part of town, easy parking and food was interesting and delicious. Highly recommend.

Good atmosphere and excellent food. The service was a bit disappointing . We made a reservation for Friday at 7 however when we arrived all tables were full and the waitress said they don't take reservations for the weekend. Seems odd as I had no issues booking it through open table from a link on their website. Luckily the other party we were meeting showed up early and had already found a table. We had also asked for our order for ceviche to show up early before the main plates. I was discouraged that it didn't show up until after our main meal arrived. I would probably still go back again to see if this was a one off occurrence as the place has a nice style that is difficult to find in this area.

Small but welcoming space. Unfriendly staff. First waiter seemed very jittery and uninterested in us and I believe it was due to the fact his shift was ending soon. As customers, we should never feel like we don't matter just because the next server coming on is taking over "your table". Only 2 out of 5 people in my group liked their food and the margaritas tasted like sour mix and nothing else. We also asked for no salt on our drinks and when they came out with salt we mentioned this to the server or whomever was serving our table and he mumbled something along the lines of "they're already made" and that was the end of that. This is the restaurant where I decided to bring my loved ones to to celebrate my birthday and I was immensely displeased and saddened. It was truly a waste of time and money.

Although Open Table sent me 2 acknowledgments of my reservation when we arrived at Verde Cocina they had no reservation for me and my 3 friends. We sat at the bar to wait 15-20 minutes for a table and the bar tender never even acknowledged us. They were very busy however....

Interesting layout. Tiny bar downstairs and homey dining room upstairs. Parking on a Wednesday night at 7pm was impossible. Thus restaurant competes for parking with the brewery next door. I had to park 3 blocks away due to no close street parking and the gravel lot across the street was also full. However, once I made my way there i forgot about all that. The waiters were great and recommended their original margarita. It was handmade and amazing! I had two! We had guacamole and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. I also ordered the special plate (pork enchiladas) and they were excellent, accompanied by a medley of original excellent mixed veggies instead of ho hum rice and beans. It was so nice to receive Mexican food that wasn’t filled with sodium. All was gluten free, and as I have a true allergy to wheat and soy, i could dine with confidence. Overall, I’ll probably go again at a time of day when it is easier to get parking. It’s definitely worth another attempt!

We love Verde Cocina and frequent the Hillsdale location. My eating style is high protein carb cycling style and their Paleo plate is absolutely perfect! Tons of protein and tasty Vegas perfectly seasoned. Perfection!!

The food was delicious, well prepared, joyfully presented, and plentiful. The service went right along with that -- so much so that this (out of the way place for us) is on the list again for sooner rather than later.
