Verde Cocina en la Perla
Come to Verde Cocina in Portland's Pearl District for a workday lunch, happy hour with friends, dinner, or a relaxing weekend brunch with family. We're conveniently located on NW 14th between Glisan and Hoyt - just around the corner from some of Portland's hottest art galleries and a few blocks from Portland's beloved Jamison square.
Always a wonderful experience!
We’ve eaten at both of the other Verde Cucunas for years. Went to the Pearl location on Mother’s Day. Great service but disappointing food. The carne asada was dry and the 2d chicken dish like shoe leather. The one dish that had pork belly was good. We won’t revisit this location. It was not that busy and they obviously need to hire someone who knows something about cooking times.
They were graciously accommodating to my request for a business lunch with seating for 15 over a one hour lunch break and delivered excellent service. Thank you!
Six of us met for a monthly dinner and chose this restaurant as it was Cinco de Mayo. We were seated promptly, served well and everyone enjoyed the different entrees. We were there at 5 pm on a Monday so the noise level was low. The flavors and ingredients were innovative and delicious. We will definitely go back.
Verde Cocina is a fantastic place to go out for dinner! The ambience is fun and welcoming. One of my friends has some severe food allergies and the restaurant staff were extremely accommodating in helping her figure out what she could order off of the menu. Overall, we loved our experience and are looking forward to eating there again soon.
Friendly attentive staff. Good food, though mashed potatoes had too much butter for my taste. Appreciated having carafe of water on the table, and that it was not ice cold.
We took a Fork Town Tour of this restaurant a couple years ago and came back with some friends to celebrate our anniversary. Awesome service, ambiance, drinks and food. We will definitely be back!
Nice spot. Parking is a bit of a bugger for those of us not living downtown. Good date spot. We enjoyed.
The food is incredible! Amazing. Just go.
The food is amazing! There was some confusion with the food orders and delay in getting drinks but they made everything right. Highly recommend!
Went for the Portland Dining month menu.... too much food. Should have just stuck to my usual goto dish. Thanks.
this place is a hidden gem in the Pearl. Food is excellent! I've been there once for dinner, and once for lunch. There's never been a crowd, which shocks me. Definitely recommended!
Delicious and fresh food - not heavy or overly cheesy. The flavors of the fresh vegetables really come through in this style of cooking. Mexican food with a Pacific Northwest twist. Reasonably priced and very tasty.
Verde Cocina has to be some of the best and very authentic Mexican food in Portland. We had breakfast there and it was amazing delicious with very fresh ingredients, meats, and great fresh salsas. We would eat any meal there again in a minute! It is a small locally owned restaurant toward the edge of the Pearl District in downtown Portland. Gracias Verde Cocina!!
Not the quality of food and service we have had their before.
Great restaurant, good, innovative menu, quiet, excellent service.
The best margaritas!!!
The stafe were fantastic and the food was tasty. We had a large group and everyone was loving their meals. Thanks for making our day even more special!
Love that the entire menu is gluten free! Portion sizes were amazing and food very tasty. They also have a few paleo options as well. Will definitely go back.
They were closed due to maintenance. We took an Uber there and showed up and it was closed. We asked them why they didn’t close their open table down for the night. They could have cared less. Thanks.
Our meal at Verde Cocina was delicious. We caught happy hour and are so glad we did! Plantains, tacos and the black bean and kale salad were excellent. I also recommend the pomegranate margarita.
We ordered the GRINGAS CON MOLÉ, MOLÉ BOWL and the RANCHERO.
The chicken in all of our dishes was tough, dry and gristly.
The vegetables were bland and the sauces were uninspired.
The server was somewhat surly.
Wait staff can have off days, but the food is the reason we won't be returning.
We were seated quickly and served promptly. We ordered the specials, which were a slow roasted beef enchilada with a fried egg and a fried chili pepper with walnuts, peaches and squash. Both were fantastic. Drinks were also good. The Mayan Mule and La Paloma. Seating filled up fast and it was full by the time we got our check. Glad we got there early.
Hidden gem! Amazing food! Great service!
Thought we were going to a typical Mexican food restaurant. This place is anything but typical. Options for vegan and gluten free. A must try restaurant in Portland!
Verde Cocina en la Perla was fantastic! We came into the restaurant with a slew of dietary restrictions and the staff and service took it to the next level. They were able to accommodate for dairy, gluten, and soy restrictions without a pause or a second thought. Thank you so much for a great experience and we will be back!
My favorite Mexican restaurant in the Pearl. My husband and I ordered the Mole bowl and we were a little disappointed. Mole sauce overpowered the meat, rice and veggies. Shrimp dish a friend ordered looked delish and she loved it. Also mole enchilada looked good. I love their guacamole and quesadilla's too. Service was very good. Would highly recommend!
Reasonably priced Mexican meal ... with flavours a bit on the mild side for our taste, but nice fresh ingredients and a pretty presentation. Nice service too.
Outstandingly fresh regional Mexican cuisine. Delicious food and drink. Lovely patio-like setting
The food (breakfast bowl) was outstanding. That bacon was to die for. The service was very attentive also - they kept my coffee cup filled (oh BTW the coffee was fabulous too) and our water glasses. I have already recommended this restaurant back to someone else.
Verde Cocina is great if you have dietary restrictions. They're very accommodating.
We ordered the carne asada and the cheese quesadillas which were served with fresh veggies and garbanzo beans. I loved that they blended modern flavors into classic Mexican food. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. This is a neighborhood gem.
Wonderful food and service as always.
We had a gluten free vegetarian guest and this was the perfect place. She and I had the same dish - one vegetarian, one pork and we both thoroughly enjoyed them. Guacamole and chips were also great. Our waitress was very helpful in helping me decide what to order. Cocktails and dessert were great too. We will be back!
Excellent food! They don't use gluten products in their kitchen so it's safe for those with Celiac disease. Will definitely be back soon.
Everything was amazing!
Great for a quick business lunch.
We celebrated a birthday and the restaurant was a great choice for providing good food for a variety of dietary choices. We were able to reserve a table and were very appreciated to go from one location to the next on a Friday night and knew we would be able to get a seat. Very nice waitstaff as well.
The food did not have much taste at all. Big heap of ingredients that don’t necessarily go together.
Verde Cocina is all about fresh vegetables. Lots of fresh veggies. Don't expect typical Mexican fare here; their dishes are not what you expect from typical Mexican food. But it's great.
Our table was in the middle of a bunch of other tables, which made it a bit awkward. The food was amazing but two parties who arrived after us got their food before us. The service though was very good and the food was again really tasty. I hope to go again but will request a booth!
