Happened in on a Monday, completely unaware of the half-priced pizza specials on mondays. What a pleasant surprise that was.
Only negative is level of sound. We were upstairs. Wasn’t completely full, but still incredibly hard to hear each other.
This was the first time eating here, and it didn't thrill me. Based upon the accolades I'd seen online, I was expecting more. The food (mostly pizza) was good, but not "wow" as I was expecting. The four of us dined on a Sunday afternoon, so we ordered mostly off the brunch menu. The restaurant was not busy, yet the service was horrible. The waitress was rather snooty, and rarely came back to check on us. Only 2 or 3 tables were occupied, yet the waitstaff was not visible for most of the meal. Twice I had to go to the kitchen/hearth directly to get some food issues taken care of.
There were occasional glimpses of inspired cooking and management, but not enough that day.
The house-made Burrata is to die for. You can't go wrong with any of the flatbreads. Always enjoy dining here! When it's nice out, their are table outside!
Amazing, authentic Neopolitan pizza with some unusual choice for toppings. The one with pistachio pesto and sausage is fantastic, but there are so many other great choices as well. Salads are also excellent and very fresh, with many variations from which to choose, but I should also mention the House made mozzarella and the buffalo mozzarella - a must try. Verde has a great neighborhood vibe, and the owner and his son, who is the chef, are totally committed to making this a great restaurant. In my opinion they have succeeded. Verde is a destination restaurant if you are looking for great pizza and a wonderful experience.
I hadn't been to Verde in a while. I won't being going back anytime soon. The food was good, but the dining experience left much to be desired. We couldn't get a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. The bartender was too busy trying to keep up with other orders. I had to move my seat at my table because the wait staff kept bumping into my chair. They really cram you in to the point of being uncomfortable. It was clear that the staff were stressed and hardly able to keep up. No one smiles or is particularly friendly. When we ordered drinks at the table we waited a very long time for them to appear. A second round was an unrealistic option. I should note that the wine list did not even have a Riesling or any sweeter wines. Sorry, but this is a bar and there should be a variety of wine selections. I don't particularly like having my silverware taken off my salad plate and put back on the dirty table. Not for the prices we paid for food and drink. Sorry for the complaints, but there are so many better dining alternatives.
Awesome food. Awesome beers. Awesome service
The upstairs is way too noisy. Food was ok but nothin great. I will NEVER go back unless I can sit outside. Street noise would be preferable to the deafening sound inside.
Only saw our waitress twice, once to take our order and then again to bring the check. The first course arrived right away; Polpette and Beet Salad. The polpette were cold, the busy girl did take them back and bring replacement but that took awhile. The beet salad was fine, but lacked flavor. Our pizza came out after a long delay and was again, cold. No one checked to see how our meal was or if we needed anything. We had eaten there before and had a great experience. Very disappointed in this visit.
Always delicious! Verde is a favorite restaurant of ours. The only negative is that it can get very loud. We prefer to sit outside, permitting.
Verde has become one of my favorite spots to take out of town friends. Parking in Canton can be challenging but free valet is offered during the week and that stress out of the equation.
Be sure to ask for a seat near the pizza oven to watch the masters at work!
Great food and overall experience. My wife has IBS and was able to have a gluten free pizza that had crust as good as mine. She was ecstatic!
Jim was our server and he was fantastic. He was super pleasant and attentive. I will definitely return to verde assuming Jim will be working. Thanks Jim 😘
Another fantastic meal at Verde. We've never had a bad meal there
Overall the experience was nice but very crowded. Won’t go back unless we can sit outside.
Waitress asked me to pay with cash because her debit card was broken...................
The buratta pizza is amazing!!
Excellent food and service.
Great brick oven pizza with a very flavorful crust with a nice chew.
Pizza always good but man is it expensive. Lower the prices a dollar or 2 per pizza. Music was too loud and tables a bit cramped, waiters needs to squeeze in between chairs to take and delivery orders.
The best Neapolitan pizza in Baltimore
The pizza was very good. There was an up charge for extra Parmesan which I really didn't think was worth it. The crust and the sauce was some of the best I have ever had.
Service was a bit slow, but it was also restaurant week. Beside that staff was very friendly and food delicious!
Their brunch was delicious. Definitely busy for restaurant week, but we had a great meal and experience. Will be returning for pizza and dinner soon!
Great Brunch Spot. My husband's pizza was delicious and the crust was phenomenal. The pizza was made in a wood-fired oven that I could see from my seat. The restaurant takes "cozy" to the extreme as it was very busy with lots of tables crammed into a small space. There were tables outside but since it was cold, no one was seated outside. I imagine that would take some pressure off the tiny dining room. The place has a real neighborhood feel and I can't wait to go back for more pizza!
Great service and food! The limoncello is awesome!!
Will be back!
Our waitress was great, but the walkway through the restaurant from the kitchen cut very close to our table. My boyfriend went to scratch his leg and almost knocked into one of the waiters. Definitely not a comfortable atmosphere. We constantly felt like we were in the way. Food was underseasoned, and to be honest might not have been seasoned at all. We were disappointed to find that the vegetarian and vegan options were lacking flavor. The red sauce on the pizza tasted canned/had no depth, and the cashew cream was not even halfway as good as the stuff we make at home or have had at other restaurants (a dash of acidity would have greatly helped it out). I really wanted to like this place, but the saturation of the pizza market in the city has set my expectations pretty high.
Went here for restaurant week this place is worth all the hype!
Loved this place but sad they were out of alll desserts restaurant week dinner. We will be back when they are less busy.
The Best Pizza in Baltimore. I can’t say it enough
We went for a family dinner and sat right by the kitchen but would have never known from the noise. It was really cool to watch them prepare the food. Our server was outstanding she was so nice and upfront with us about how long our food would take since it was a very busy night. Overall the meal was excellent as usual!
Really made us feel special on our anniversary. Thank you!
Fantastic gluten free pizza! It was incredibly busy so service was slow, but that is expected restaurant week.
Best pizza in town. Verde has become our favorite place to eat!
Loved this little neighborhood spot!
Lots of charm/character and enjoyed the food
The food and ingredients are excellent. It's a bit noisy. Our seating for 2 had one of us facing the kitchen/oven. Usually not a bad option except, I was facing directly at the dish washer. No offence to him but not a good venue when having dinner
This was our second time here and it didn't disappoint. Everything is fresh and delicious. The pizza is phenomenal. My only criticism would be that the condiments on the charcuterie board are a bit skimpy. As far as food quality goes, this place is as good as it gets. You must try their handmade burrata!
Our server saved the moment. If it where not for him we would have left. We were not told that they were only serving a set menu. The hostess who sat us down did not tell us, but the server who we were supposed to have did. It seemed like we were her last table and she wanted to leave. He took us over and gave us the normal menu.
When in Baltimore I always have to make a pilgrimage back to Verde, where the brick oven pizza is the best I’ve ever had. The pistachio pizza is a must! Don’t ask questions - just order it. We had the meatballs and the buratta apps, which were also amazing. Really great neighborhood gem, but easily accessible from all parts of Baltimore.
Everything was excellent! A bit for pricy for the amount of food!!
