Best Pizza in Baltimore and our waitress last time was the beat we’ve had yet!
Waited 45 minutes to get served drinks. The waiter's were rude and inpatient. The bread was tough and the pizza was okay.
I really enjoyed Verde. The vibe of the restaurant was intimate and great for date night. The pizza was good but a little pricey for what it was in my mind!
Monday is 1/2 off pizza night which was an amazing deal. The burrata pizza and the sausage pesto pizza were both amazing!
Verde is a very good restaurant but it is expensive if you think it is a pizza place. The pizza is great but the rest of the menu is even better. We ordered Aperol Spritz and it was as good as any in Italy. Our server was really good too.
Marta and Matt are awesome servers!! Friendly and informed!
Food is high quality and servers are generally nice.
Verde doesn’t disappoint! Always delicious pizza and friendly service.
Best pizza in Baltimore!
The service was terrible. We waited to be seated, then waited a very long time just to order drinks. The food came in a timely fashion, but was nothing to speak of. Gross aftertaste. The waiter was MIA a lot of the meal, including the end of the meal when we just wanted our check. The valet worker was the nicest, most diligent employee that we encountered. We won’t be back.
We make all our pies with traditional ingredients and ratios. If you are not familar with Neapolitan pizza I can understand your concern, but I assure you we follow strict Italian guidlines for every pie. We were short staffed and I do apologize for your expereince and suggest if you return, and we hope you do, please ask for me and I will personally address any concerns you have. Our pizza is different than almost all pizza in Baltimore and our cooking methods take years to perfect. Ed
Awesome evening with great pizza and fun mocktails
LOVE THIS PLACE, IT IS A MUST VISIT! Great pizza and drinks.
This could have been a great experience but the management does not allow you to change the pizzas printed on the menu. Want to add some salami? No- you can only have it cold on the side. Want to add some mushrooms? No. Want to add some parmesan? No. It wasn’t busy so it shouldn’t be difficult to please the customer. We won’t be back.
I apologize for your experience . We did substitutions but often a guest will over load the pizza and it is too much quantity for these delicate pies. These pies cook at incredible speeds, 90 seconds, and to execute our business model we elected not to do substitutions. We allow for removal of an item for dietary concerns. Our recepies are traditional Neapolitan. Sadly we are not a make your own pizza restaurant, we do guarantee if you do not like your choice we will replace it on us!
Can not wait to go back again! Pizza was outstanding!
By far the best Neopolitan-style pizza in Baltimore. In fact I'd put it on par with any in any NYC borough or Pizza Bianco in Phoenix....and I've had ALL of that. Verde is that good.
Great neighborhood spot! The food (and wine!) is always delicious and the staff is great!
I have lived in Canton for about 3 years and Verde was one of the first restaurants we experienced and it instantly became a favorite. The fresh homemade mozzarella they use in all their dishes is absolutely delicious. They have an awesome variety of salads and pizzas. I have been many times over the years and highly recommend.
Solid pizza and appetizers, nice atmosphere.
This was our second time dining at verde. It was nice to be seated by the pizza oven and watch! Cocktails were great, food was good.
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Their gluten free crust is a nice option, especially with the sausage & pistachio pizza. Personable service & they had a free draft beer special running for those in the service/healthcare industries. Great local spot!
First time customer and will definitely be back again soon. The pizza was absolutely amazing, the best in Baltimore, and our service was exceptional. Food came out quickly after ordering.
Great food with first class service from friendly staff! Definitely coming back to Verde.
La pizza col prosciutto crudo e’ BUONISSIMA!!!!!
Any time I feel like a GOOD PIZZA, I know Verde won’t disappoint.
Only adding more characters so I can save the review, because that's all you need to know.
Has to be the best pizza in town. Its just the right size for two people along with an app.
Pizza and cocktails and service were great as always!
Love it! Best pizza around, great and interesting beer selection.
The tone was set when we walked in the door. My date and I received the “up-down” from a couple of young women who were greeting guests. One of them appeared to be bored and to convey the impression that we were intruding. The other was just ok but somewhat officious; she parked us upstairs next to the servers station where we were treated to all of the shop talk of the waitstaff. Our waiter was good, but for some reason we were also waited upon by a second waiter, who was also good.
As more guests were seated the noise level increased exponentially, making conversation all but impossible.
We opted for the “Restaurant Week” option. My date ordered the Insalata Mista which she said was “just ok” and I ordered the Pesti, which was very good. The only criticism there was the presentation; the three small bowls containing a pesto, a tapenade and one of sundried tomatoes and chilis were clustered in the center of the plate, obscuring some mozzarella which was not discovered until later.
The pizzas arrived, an “Il Bambino” for my date ( buffalo mozzarella, sausage, hot soppressata w/ red sauce) and a “Pistacchio e Salsiccia” for me ( a white pizza with pistachio pesto, mozzarella, sausage, basil and grana ). Her pizza was perfect, mine was borderline blackened, but still acceptable. When I took my first bite, the combination of flavors that greeted me resulted in forgiveness of all transgressions. I was transported back to Tuscany and a little pizzeria in Lucca where I had my first transcendent pizza experience. My date was momentarily closed her eyes as she tasted hers, telling me later she was trying to capture the taste to remember later.
For dessert, Tiramisu for my date and Torta al Ciccolato for me, both of which were ok if not amazing. The waiter presented the bill in a timely way, and as we left not even the rude indifference of a hostess could dispel the sense of well being that comes from a truly great pizza.
While we love the food here, the service this time was laughable. We arrived about 5-10 minutes before our reservation and it wasn't busy at all. We had decided to come here for our anniversary because we enjoy the pizza here and it's in walking distance of our house, and I included that in my reservation. When we arrived, there were two hostesses. When I said we had a reservation, the hostess looked and insisted we didn't have one. I didn't make a big deal out of it and didn't mind since it was not busy at all on a weeknight. However, I said we definitely did and offered to show her my phone. She basically ignored us before then saying she had looked at the wrong day (seriously...you have one job and that's to manage reservations and seating assignments!). She didn't apologize and just said something in a whisper to the other hostess, handed her menus and then STILL ignored us. The other hostess didn't say anything either and then just walked away. My husband and I looked at one another confused because we didn't know if we should follow her or not since we hadn't been acknowledged at all for a few minutes. After about 10 feet, she looked back at us like we were incredibly stupid and STILL didn't say a word. We decided to followed her because we were hungry. She tried to seat us in a spot that was incredibly awkward and not very romantic. My husband asked if we could sit upstairs and she just said "No" in a very abrupt and rude way. My poor husband, the friendliest guy in the world, was just like "Oh, ok, thanks." He had asked politely and she was just so rude...she offered no explanation or anything. He then asked to sit at a slightly more private table, and she literally rolled her eyes at him and walked over to it. It was so strange it was almost funny. We've been joking about it since because it was so awkward and random.
Pizza was great. Service was fine with a server who efficient but not as friendly as the others we've had in the past.
Very disappointing experience!
Disappointing because of the following reasons:
1) the menu does not include the most famous Italian pizza, that is Pizza Napoli (different from the Pizza alla napoletana). Pizza Napoli has the following ingredients and Verde pizza does not have it on the menu:
2 cucchiai salsa di pomodoro (tomato).
150 gr pasta per pane (dough).
50 gr mozzarella (mozzarella).
6 acciughe o alici sotto sale (anchovies).
10 cappero sotto sale (capers).
q.b. olio di oliva extravergine (extra virgin olive oil).
2) When I asked the waitress to add anchovies and capers to a standard "Pizza Margherita" she replied that they have a very strict rule at Verde Pizza: ingredients can be removed but they cannot be added. I thought it was ridiculous and it was the first time I got such an answer in a pizzeria. In any case, there was no way that I could have the Pizza Napoli.
3) My wife asked to remove 3 ingredients from her pizza but the price of the pizza did not drop to $ 14 as it should have, it stayed at $ 21.
4) The A/C in the pizzeria was broken and nobody had told me when I called to make reservations. Today in Baltimore the temperature got to 96-100 degrees and the temperature at Verde Pizza was unbearable.
5) Verde Pizza was out of Peroni and some of the other draft beers. Birra Peroni is the most famous Italian beer.
The only positive note was the waitress: kind and fast despite the poor management of Verde Pizza!
PS. Be careful if you order pizza with figs. They claim that they will use fresh figs but when I ordered it 2 months ago they used fig jam. No fresh figs!
Wow this is a harsh review but from your comments I appreciate your passion about pizza. We have tasted excellent pizza from Da Michele, Sorbillo and many others around the world, but our vision and receipes originate with Antonio Starita and Roberto Caporuscio. Da Michele serves Margherita and Marinara which are considered the most popular pizza in Napoli, however your Pizza Napoli is in fact on our menu and we call it the Romana. Peroni is our most popular beer so yes we were out ... Sorry
Our favorite pizza in the area. It's a bit expensive, but considering how hard it is to find decent pizza in Baltimore, we still come back when we're craving it!
Amazing pizza and tons of options, they don't take substitutions (which doesn't bother me), but good to know going in.
The food is absolutely some of the best we have had in Baltimore. We love everything mozzarella. Great salads and pizza amazes.
It's really a little too expensive, but very authentic. The arancini and potato croquette appetizers are phenomenal as are the craft cocktails. For 4 adults and 2 children, our tab was over $200, not including the tip -- so maybe not the best value, but very delicious nevertheless.
Verde makes delicious Italian personal pizzas. If you go any day other than Monday, it is overpriced. However, if you go on Mondays (half off pizza day), the pizza is cheap and perfect. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent place for small plates and appetizer. The waiter was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine.
Nice place, good food - it’s just pricey. Best to come on a Monday for half price pizzas or the day wine is half off (Wed, I think).
Absolutely delicious! I will be ordering the pistachio pesto pizza again!
Six people ordered six pizzas. Waitress forgot to put in one of the orders, so last p
