Vercelli Restaurant is a family run Italian Restaurant situated in the centre of Hexham, a busy market town in Northumberland. The family, all from around the Hexham area, have worked hard over the last 8 years to modernise the cocktail bar and restaurant. All the family are involved in the business, with the aim of providing a memorable experience.

Sue, Front of House Manager, enjoys working alongside the enthusiastic team who have built a relationship with their returning customers and welcoming new, with an aim to make your experience relaxing and memorable throughout.


Executive chef, Jordan, and Head chef, Scott, source the finest Italian provisions to produce high quality Italian dishes with a modern twist.

At the front of the restaurant is a small, modern cocktail bar which hosts live music nights regularly but can be enjoyed for a bite to eat or a drink any night of the week.

    Very attentive service, tempting menu and delicious food. It would be nice if some green veg was included in the pasta dishes, that would be my only suggested improvement

    We had the Early Bird Menu Food as always was fresh,delicious and good presentation. Our server was very attentive and very pleasant Lovely evening we are never disappointed and a bonus due to beautiful weather we were able to sit in the garden If I had one small grumble it would be if the garden is open to ensure the tables and chairs are cleaned to remove any bird droppings

    Would recommend. The only thing that let it down was the noise level of the live music. We were sat right next to one of the speakers and could not hear each other or the staff. Requested it to be turned down, which was carried out, but still not ideal.

    I have been to Verchelli's many times before and although it does take us a hour to get there it is worth it. The food and service have always been very good and although we often find the noise level a little high, it is bearable and hasn't stopped us from returning. Well worth a visit.

    Food excellent as always. A busy Friday early evening with a big group in so a bit noisy. Long delay between finishing main and then ordering dessert so children became restless.

    Food is always fantastic but what makes Vercelli so special is Millie. A young woman who is exceptionally good at her job. She is so smiley and gorgeous and efficient. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
