Vercelli Restaurant is a family run Italian Restaurant situated in the centre of Hexham, a busy market town in Northumberland. The family, all from around the Hexham area, have worked hard over the last 4 years to modernise the cocktail bar and restaurant. All the family are involved in the business, with the aim of providing a memorable experience.

Sue, Front of House Manager, enjoys working alongside the enthusiastic team who have built a relationship with their returning customers and welcoming new, with an aim to make your experience relaxing and memorable throughout.


Executive chef, Jordan, and Head chef, Scott, source the finest Italian provisions to produce high quality Italian dishes with a modern twist.

At the front of the restaurant is a small, modern cocktail bar which hosts live music nights regularly but can be enjoyed for a bite to eat or a drink any night of the week.

    A Xmas get together with 2 of my friends. We had a fantastic bottomless lunch, food was amazing as always. Singer was brilliant. Staff were the best!!!

    Greet food and great service! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and festive vibe. Got a number of dishes and shared them between six of them. The best thing was the brownie!

    We travelled from Newcastle for the Music Trail and started with a meal at Vercellis. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu was extensive and the food was delicious. Would definitely go back

    We had a very enjoyable dining experience. We went for the three course early bird menu on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were friendly, helpful & attentive throughout. We arrived at 3.45 pm from having visited the Museum of the Moon installation in Hexham Abbey. On arrival at the restaurant we were shown directly to our table. The restaurant was very quiet at that time of day however by the time we left, shortly after 5:00 pm, it was very busy. Food (pizza/pasta) arrived promptly, was hot & tasty. Pizzas were quite large. All in all, excellent value. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good value, straight forward Italian meal with great service.

    Excellent food, very good quality, and very generous portions. Great atmosphere, lovely ambience. Service was topclass, nothing too much trouble, and above all was professional and genuine. Would very highly recommend and will definitely visit again when in the area.

    Although the food was very tasty I felt the portion sizes were too small, making it less value for money. I ordered a £20 steak with salad and my steak was very small. I just felt it wasn’t value for money.

    Standard of everything excellent. Food superb extremely good courteous and friendly service. One dish was delayed in coming to table and no charge was made for it. There was no need but it was automatically deducted from bill Will certainly go again

    The service was prompt and incredibly friendly. Despite it clearly being a busy evening we were tended to appropriately. The staff member looking after our table was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us.

    A very good place for good food and service.. I only discovered Vercelli's earlier this year and this was the 3rd visit so far and we'll be back again, even though it takes an hours travel to get there. Worth it.

    I have been to Vercelli quite a few times. The atmosphere is really good - a nice buzz without being too noisy. The staff are lovely - very well trained and friendly. The food is delicious and portion sizes just right. And you don't have to break the bank to eat here. Great place, whether it's a big celebration blow-out or a quiet midweek dinner.
