A lunch with daughter and son in law
The food was very well prepared and there was a nice wine selection. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. Very nice decor and atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place for a special event.
We have been staying in this hotel for almost a year and a half with our five year old granddaughter - dining here each time . They have never had a child’s menu, but always accommodated us with buttered pasta of some type . For some reason the child’s menu this visit was only steak or pork chop - which few five year olds appreciate or like . We were very disappointed and left without dining . We are hoping they will make something simple for children so that we can return to one of our favorite places .
Celebrated husband’s birthday with another couple, first time at Verbena for all. We love dining at interesting places with great service, great wine lists. The sommelier was great, our server Emma wonderful, and the meals were full of great flavor and surprises. We will be back very soon!
Amazing food and service. Melissa was delightful. The new chef is on point.
Place is beautiful and intimate and the service was excellent. The food, of course, is the biggest reason to keep coming to Verbana. Excellent!
Great food and service. We’ll be back.
Outstanding and creative food! Great service from the server and bar. Kudos to Sous Chef Sam Hall
Great food, service, and ambiance. This place kills it everytime!
Cassie was outstanding…made the evening and dinner perfect
Great food - terrible chairs. Absolutely not the chairs for this restaurant. Uncomfortable to sit in, weirdly high for the tables.
Impeccable is the only word for it. Authentic east coast feel partnered unique and delicious cocktails and food. Perfect ambiance for our date night and will be at the top of my recommendation list for months to come.
Food was great and Kirk was very friendly and attentive.
Excellent as always.
The food was wonderful. Parker rolls are awesome. Pork chop and Amish chicken were both wonderful. Great job!
I had the vegetarian meal - may be the best I have had.
Really impressive and interesting meal. My cocktail was excellent and my wife really enjoyed the wine tasting that was offered that night. The highlights of the meal were the lobster toast and the lamb neck roti. We also thought our mains were great as well (rabbit pasta and shrimp and grits). Everything had an impressive attention to detail. Service was impeccable and attentive. Only negative were the fried oysters which missed the mark a bit as they were over fried and dry. Everything else more than made up for the minor misstep.
Our server Emma was just wonderful!
We certainly enjoyed our time at Verbena!
The cocktails are prepared well and wine selections are very good!!
The biggest issue we have with our many visits to Verbena is our continuous culinary disappointment in the menu and the overpowering flavors in many of the entree selections.
Perhaps a review of menu selection choices and preparation? What about two steak choices (not everyone wants a 12oz steak). Pork chop is high quality meat and prepared well but current seasonal accompaniment is a bit overpowering and difficult to savor the actual meat. Also, might be good to keep a very basic chicken entree on menu for older or younger folks needing an easy go to choice, having more limited palates, or having dietary restrictions. As we recall, all the times we have dined there, there has been NO featured chef special, so that leads us to believe there will never be one? Should there be one? Could offer an additional easy to share appetizer! The bread for almost $10 for 4 rolls is silly- just saying. It is there just to boost the final bill I think?
We want to keep going back as it is a beautiful setting and in our neighborhood, and this time around our server was just delightful. Despite all that, we still have to consider the menu limitations in order to keep returning.
Thank you for listening!
Verbena is a beautiful venue!!
Overall, my wife and I had a great dinner. The food was very good (the desserts were awesome!) and the service was fantastic. We sat at a table near the bar, and it was comfortable with a small window giving us a view outside. John, the on-premise sommelier, was helpful in selecting a good wine to pair with our entrees. We will definitely go back to Verbena.
Great food, reasonable service and delightful to show to our friends.
The chicken Kiev and fish were overcooked. Some entrees were too spicy.
The Calamari and Clam Chowder was excellent with just the right amount of pop. The lobster toast was full of flavors and I would highly recommend it. Wine offerings were quite complete.
Excellent overall. Small table banquet seating by bar but worked out ok. First restaurant seating choice was a small table for 2 near the bar that looked like an afterthought. Food was very very good. All considered it was a very memorable night for our anniversary.
This was our first experience: serene surroundings, efficient service, and food selection, eclectic. Unfortunately, both my husband and I found the Chicken Kiev and the Duroc pork chop, a bit salty.
Expensive steak served at room temperature. Sent it back, same steaks came out, not much better. Cold plate for the steak. Server slow for all portions of the meal. Asked for a second drink did not get it, not charged for the drink. The food is touched by several people; cook, plating, server. No one thought to question serving cold meat to the table. Ordered two steaks one Medium one medium rare. They looked identical. Ask the server about it and she said it was obvious the difference.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and overall high-quality place to have a business lunch.
The food experience was truly amazing! They do such a great job with working my dairy allergy. I never feel like an inconvenience when asking about ingredients of dishes or recommendations for my allergy. Can’t wait to go back again! Our fav date night restaurant!
Service, food and atmosphere 5 stars!
One of the better experiences we've had in the last year. Melissa, Zac, and Sam (who even gave us a hand-written dressing recipe) made the experience personable, pleasant and memorable. Will definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu.
The new menu is outstanding! We really enjoyed the steak tartare. I wish the hamburger was still on the lunch menu. If you haven’t been to Verbena in awhile the new menu is well worth the trip!
We had lunch at Verbena and really enjoyed it! Service was excellent as was the food. Would be nice they offered a "side" salad size at lunch.
Wonderful location, service was great, delicious Parker house rolls! (Eat the carbs! They’re worth it) M husband has the blackened Char which was superb and I ordered the Amish Chicken Kiev. A very interesting interpretation of the classic. I highly recommend the Soring Water Cocktail. It was delicious.
Great food, wine list and service!
Wonderful evening as always at Verbena. Our waitress took great care of us and very knowledgeable on my wife’s dairy allergy. We will be back for sure !
The food and service was amazing! Will definitely return.
My wife and I visited for our wedding anniversary. The food was excellent and only a little adventurous. The standards get a bit of a twist with something extra added, like Nori to clam chowder or kiwi in a celery root soup. Main courses were expertly prepared. While the prices are a bit higher than I'd pay on a standard night out, it makes for an excellent choice for special occasions. Location was convenient and inviting but is not the easiest location to notice on a drive-by. You'll need to know they're there, but you really should seek them out.
Thrilled to have this gem in our neighborhood! Cocktails are legit so go grab one... then stay for dinner!
