This was our first time there we met friends for dinner the food was delicious and the service was wonderful we will be back
Excellent. Delicious food, appealing atmosphere, helpful staff, and brilliant service.
Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu, and they offer one of the best wines in the region. The drinks are pricey but surely worth sampling.
Service was very slow. Drinks were great but took a VERY long time. Mushroom risotto was delicious! The Caramelle pea pasta was absolutely delicious, but for $23 I expected a dinner size portion, not an appetizer. Husband got the lamb chops with pearl couscous and enjoyed it. Wish the menu had more options, like beef filet or chicken. Overall we enjoyed out meal and the ambiance, but felt it was a tad overpriced and slow service.
It's a lovely place with excellent service and delicious food! I will definitely be going back.
Cod was awesome! Salad was wonderful. Miss the clams casino.
Gaspar and crew are doing a great job! We hope to start visiting more often. Some training still going on with younger staff but all going well. Food is spectacular and the restaurant is really beautiful!
We had a lovely evening. Our server Emma was fantastic. I wish the caesar salad had not changed, the one I had a week earlier at Verbena was the best in the city! The rest of meal was very good!
Love the patio - perfect lunch spot!
It was my first visit to Verbena and it exceeded my expectations! Fabulous service, very friendly staff, and absolutely delicious food (I had the grilled salmon with whipped parsnips) ~ will definitely go back soon!
Excellent experience, excellent food, excellent service. Perhaps a TAD pricy for value received but so are all higher-end restaurants.
Fabulous food, service and ambiance! A new go to restaurant in KC.
It was delightful. The ambiance is charming and warm at the same time.
Great food, superb service, and amazing ambiance and background scenery
food was excellent and service A+.
we were admittedly pleasantly surprised this far deep into the JoCo suburbs.
by the way, it's darn expensive.
We dined outside on the lovely patio to celebrate our Anniversary. We had made reservations two weeks in advance for 7:00 PM. After being seated our server approached us and asked if we were celebrating anything special and we told her it was our Anniversary. As it was our first time at Verbena we were very excited to explore the menu. Although a rather small menu, there were several things we were interested in. When our server returned we ordered two drinks and asked some questions about the menu. She told us that one of the entrées was already sold out (at 7:15). We ordered lobster bisque, a salad, the mussels and the salmon to share. In about five minutes she returned to the table to tell us they were out of the bisque. We ordered an additional salad instead. When she brought the salads we were told they were now out of the mussels. Again, disappointed, we added the lobster mac and cheese to come with our entree. We also ordered the Parker House rolls for $7 as there was no complimentary bread. After finishing our tasty salads the server brought our entree without the substitution we had requested. She apologized and said she would get it. After completely finishing the delicious salmon entree, the potatoes arrived. At this point, we were not interested in eating them as we were already looking forward to dessert. After waiting a full 30 minutes expecting the server to offer us a dessert menu and coffee or an after-dinner drink, we flagged her and asked for a dessert menu. After having two items from our order becoming unavailable and not getting the side we had ordered in time to eat it we truly expected to be offered a complimentary dessert especially because we were also celebrating our Anniversary. But, no! In conclusion, the restaurant and ambiance are lovely and everything we ate was delicious! However, the service wasn’t up to the standard expected at the price point of the menu and when dining at 7:00 PM on a Wednesday night things should not be sold out
So beautiful and the food was delicious! You must give this place a try.
Outdoor seating with beautiful views, excellent food ( lobster, Texas toast, and soft boiled egg was amazing), and friendly service.
Everything was lovely. Great server with personality. Lamb was not as tender as we would like but tasty. Going back in a couple weeks
The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The service was excellent too.
The atmosphere was perfect for our anniversary
Dined for lunch. Food was very under seasoned. Lobster roll tasted like water, celery curls on roll were stringy and water logged. Steak was over cooked. The bites for an appetizer were very salty, Salt Cod Croquette was just potato with very little salt cod itself and very salty which was confusing.
Overall, this was a good mixture of quality and price. The food was really well done and at the price range (20 - 30$ entres) you never know if the price will meet the quality standard. This place definitely delivered in that area. The ambiance is very nice as its attached to a newer boutique hotel in Prairie Village. Definitely a nice spot to take a significant other or family.
The food was superb and innovative, as was the presentation. Love the ambiance at Verbena. Management is very attentive! French cuisine at its best!
Baked clams are wonderful as is the wine list
The food was excellent. Service was nice and a very clean restaurant.
Just fabulous! Atmosphere and decor is wonderful. Food is spectacular! My favorite restaurant in KC.
Disappointed... Lots of hype. Food was good, not great. Waitress seemed preoccupied.
Great service and food but a bit overpriced. Really small portions on appetizers and salads.
Went here for my birthday and it was my first “in-restaurant” experience since before Covid and it really was such a great. It’s a gorgeous area and we sat on the patio. Really enjoyed it. I am only knocking off 1 star on the service because my sprite was empty and the waitress kept asking my dad if she could refill his soda water. Just wasn’t SUPER observant. And also we had to remind her we had a birthday, even though both the reservation and my mom called about it. But food was great and I loved the patio and views. I look forward to going again!
Wonderful Mother’s Day Lunch....will definitely return and hopefully on the patio👍
What a beautiful space, both inside and out. Great views from the patio. The service is always good and the food is excellent!
Overall, it was a good experience. I really enjoyed the ambiance and vibe! What was strange is that no one gravitated towards anything on the dinner menu. We all ended up getting the same thing and splitting. Our server disappeared for long periods of time, so we chose to skip dessert. I will definitely go back to try their lunch/happy hour menu because I do love everything I have tried at the Market, and I know the quality of the food is 100% amazing. I want that lobster roll! :)
Loved everything about it!!! The hotel and the restaurant was amazing!!!
Had a little mixup with the hostess on our reservation request to sit outside. But other than that, service and food were outstanding. Can’t wait to go back.
Nice interior $35 for a Caesar and a glass of wine kinda pricey but a special occasion so ok but not an everyday place.
The food was good and reasonably priced for such a nice restaurant . Will our waiter was the perfect balance of attentive and responsive to our needs without sitting on top of us . He was knowledgeable about the items on the menu and helpful in making suggestions. The setting outdoors was beautiful.
Upscale dining but enjoyed all of it!
Food was delicious, but the service was lacking. Our reservation was at 5 p.m., so it wasn't that busy.
The entire evening was a treat! From the spectacular spring cocktails, the lobster roll, a lovely beet salad and delicious entrees, it was an evening to remember. The only issue was we were too stuffed for dessert! Thank you Verbena for a wonderful launch back into "in person" dining for us. We'll definitely be back.
The ambience was very nice. The decor was a successful meshing of traditional and contemporary styles. A clean patio very relaxing with pleasing views of expansive lawns and flowers. The quality of the food was above average but servings were quite small, especially considering the price. Example, our server brought the bread service to our table of four, it was a miniature basket containing four thin slices of a baguette. The amount of bread in the basket would have been a meager serving, at best, for one person. Probably won’t go back.
