Verandah at Omni Amelia Island Resort
Haven’t been to Verandah in over a year. It was a very good meal, great service (Host and Daniel). We will go back!
We enjoyed Verandah a lot. Service was great. It is a pretty room with a nice park like view. We had a very loud woman next to us for a while ... once she left ambiance was nice. Not the restaurant’s fault in any event. My chicken was quite salty. Everything else was great. Tiramisu was a real treat.
Quality of meals was average but at resort prices and we experienced a rather limited menu. Certainly expected more from the resorts "flagship" restaurant.
The food was good. My husband had flounder and said it was very good.I had ravioli and the chef was kind to omit the truffle seasoning. Our server was excellent!! We are having trouble remembering her name. She had worked on property since she was in high school. She was able to talk to us about things on the island.
We were hesitant to go to the Veranda because of past reviews, but we would go back again. If there was a problem, they seem to have worked it out
We liked our first visit so much that we went back again. The hostess is delightful! They have a lot of large parties, which increases the noise level- especially after some alcohol has been consumed! Limited menu, but we found different entrees that were good. French press coffee a definite plus. The tiramisu is tied for the best I’ve ever had! Will return on our next visit to the Omni Amelia Island.
As a local, we have been excited for the Verandah to reopen. This was a favorite restaurant, pre-Covid, and we were excited to try their new menu upon reopening. Unfortunately, the experience was not as wonderful as the anticipation. The service was good. However, with the new "Coastal Mediterranean" menu be certain you are leaning towards a coastal palate. The food was flavorful but there are only 4 pasta/entree dishes that are not fish or seafood-based on a limited menu. When asked if substitutions for a made-from-scratch pasta dish were possible to replace the crab with a non-seafood protein it was stated they didn't have proteins to accommodate substitutions, such as chicken. (note, they have chicken, andouille, and lamb on the menu). And, the mushroom ravioli dish, one of the only non-fish/seafood entree pasta dishes, although very flavorful, was an appetizer size compared to the rest of the entrees served at our table. This was extremely disappointing and was the joke of the evening for our party.
We eat out at least 4 times a week. Sadly, we are unlikely to return to this restaurant which was once a weekly favorite and we have already started letting our local network know our thoughts around the menu.
We hope the Chef and Management will review their menu and consider more protein options in the future.
We've been going to the Verandah for years. However, this was our first visit in several years. The food was just ok. Service was good not great. For what it was, it was very expensive. Because of our history, we will try it again but, absent a significant improvement, we won't go back twice.
Food was not worth the price. Not impressed with anything but desert.
Mother’s Day dinner at the restaurant was a delight. Great service, ambiance and food!
Went to the Veranda for Mother’s Day and it was very disappointing. Food was just ok. I got the sea bass and it tasted very fishy like it was old. My husband got a pasta dish which was tiny and he said it was good but nothing special. Very expensive, small portions and mediocre food. We definitely won’t go back.
LOVE it. Great food, Great people! We loved it so much
Our experience didn't come close to matching our previous experience at the Verandah. My wife had the blue crab crusted grouper (the house specialty) which we've both had before and thoroughly enjoyed, but this time was a little above average at best. I had the flounder, served on a mushy, thin slice of eggplant, smothered in arugula all with almost no taste at all. I also had the cream of white asparagus soup which also was totally tasteless and not very hot. The saving grace was the chocolate mousse which my wife really enjoyed. Finally, a restaurant at this price point could and should be expected to have table linens, which I believe they had at our last visit. Perhaps it is because of Covid but it made for a messy table with sweaty glasses and bread crumbs everywhere and contributed to the noise level.
Really enjoyed the food and some nice touches they have with the bread and exciting desert presentations. Service lacked attention, no check-ins, no water refills, etc. Expecting that will improve.
We were very disappointed with the menu options and the portions that we received.
Verandah used to have the best filet, but is no longer offered. Three of us ordered the flounder and the portions were very small.
The waiter removed our plates while one of us was still eating. Very rude.
Then came and asked if we wanted dessert when the person was still eating her entree.
The other couple ordered a bottle of pellagrino and they never refilled their water glasses. The man had to drink his wife's glass of water.
the waiter was very friendly and the food was very good
Homemade pasta to die for!
A top notch experience. Allison was our amazing server. The new menu is delicious.
The fresh pasta in the dishes stole the show. It was perfect.
It was our 3rd time to eat at The Veranda! The food was fantastic and service outstanding as usual. We will go back every opportunity we are have!
We had a group of 7 for a birthday dinner. The food was excellent and service as well. Pastas are made in house and you can tell. Highly recommended the grouper or the ribeye. You also have to try their honey made on property. So good!
Excellent service, fresh food but limited menu.
A wonderful experience from beginning to end. Our waitress Nephri was a pleasure. She was pleasant , and well spoken. She was knowledgeable, and helpful in the discussions, allowing us to chose our selections for dinner.
Our visit to Varandah was the dining experience we will remember most about our trip to Amelia Island.
Ravioli very dry and tough. Spicy tagliatelle wasn’t. Eggplant under flounder undercooked. Sorry but the entrees need to be tweaked to bring it back to where it was before they closed.
Awesome food and atmosphere! Definitely recommend.
Great experience!!Food was awesome and service was great!!
Service was great! Food was just okay.
First time at Verandah. Very nice. Surprised by the interior ... nicely done even though closed for awhile. Food and service were excellent.
Newly renovated with a beautiful interior. All of the food is farm to table, locally sourced and all homemade. Everything was delicious, fresh and reasonable. You should go here!
Out of several choice when we had our reservation at 8pm which was disappointing but otherwise food was very good.
Great Birthday Meal for my Wife and our server Allison was fantastic! Menu has been revised and would def recommend for any special occasion!
The experience was great . We were a little disappointed with the menu choices, it was very limited.
Awesome food and service!
Good service, good attention to all food requirements.
Just reopened with new menu. Prices are high and food service is good but needs to improve.
The ambience was amazing and the food and drinks were phenomenal!! My husband really enjoyed his upscale birthday dinner experience!
Easter dinner. Very nice location/ quiet. The hot blue crab dip was excellent.
So glad this restaurant is open again as it has been a longtime favorite! The white asparagus soup and steak were delicious. Service was great!
Nothing special from taste perspective to match the price point. Most portion sizes are pretty small, we left pretty unsatisfied. Service and surroundings were fine.
Verandah had been closed for a long time due to the pandemic but had been a family staple for a long time prior to that. Unfortunately the menu has changed significantly. I wish they had kept the menu staples (Verandah salad, ahi tuna, etc.)
