Staff was pleasant and attentive, waitress was excellent. Food was well prepared, but the grouper and scallops were bland (other than a LOT of butter). I could not detect any crab in the hot crab dip, only butter, cheese, and artichoke. For such prices, you would expect a memorable taste, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. We could hear the two adjoining tables basically complaining about the same thing.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Verandah and are so glad we did! Robert was wonderful calling to confirm our plans, welcoming us enthusiastically, and checking on us throughout the meal. It was like he was hosting us in his home. We were amazed to see a personalized menu wishing us a Happy Anniversary! Jeff, our waiter, was friendly, engaging and wonderful at explaining each dish. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We appreciate everyone at Verandah making our anniversary special! We highly recommend it to anyone that wants a very special meal!

Service was amazing - Lucy went above and beyond for us. We dined with our special needs child and sometimes going out can be a little harder. This dining service was top level. Food was outstanding.

Staff is very amiable and ready to assist in any way. The Ex S Chef made the rounds which was fun and informative. The food was very good to excellent - which has been our experience here. The vegetarian main could be a bit more flavorful, but the soup, grouper and the bread were all excellent. The lobster cake ( really more of a croquet) was very good and the accompanying citrus salad was fantastic. Always enjoyable at Verandah!

Verandah is a nice resort restaurant. Service was solid & food was good, definitely cooked to the ordered temperature. Pastas are probably your best bet. Flavors of other foods were solid but not outstanding. Pretty pricey for the level of cuisine.

My husband and I had never eaten here before and thought we’d try it out. We almost got up and walked out after almost 20 minutes of not evening being served so much as a glass of water. The restaurant was less than a third full. The server finally came over and took our drink orders. It was at least another 20 minutes before he brought us our cocktails. Mine was not good at all. I had to order an extra shot of simple syrup to help doctor it up. My husband also had to order more simple syrup for his cocktail, as well. Both were very bitter and should not have been. The small glass he brought the simple syrup in had lipstick all over it like it hadn’t been washed. So he brought us more back in another glass. The manager did come over at that point and offer to comp my cocktail (but not my husband’s). We ordered the crab artichoke dip and Caesar salad as appetizers. Both were mediocre at best. For my entree, I ordered the diver scallops with asparagus risotto. The scallops were a bit tough and risotto was not seasoned enough. My husband’s fish and mashed potatoes entree was better than mine. They were out of the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine I love. The sommelier brought over an Italian white wine for me to sample, and the manager comped it. The whole dining experience took about two hours, and we were just ready to go by the end so did not order dessert. We will not be back unless something changes. We had high expectations for a restaurant at the plantation but should have stuck to the tried-and-true restaurants at the Ritz that we know are top notch.

It took 1.5 hours to deliver our entrees. We all ordered alcoholics drinks but none were not well made. My daughter ordered a 2nd drink of the strawberry-lemon drop martini and it tasted dramatically different the 2nd time (no consistency). The food itself was not seasoned well. For the price we paid ($260 including 20% tip), I will never return to this restaurant.

We celebrated our 48th anniversary at the Verandah and it couldn’t have been nicer. First of all our server, Jeff, was very cordial and well informed. The big wow was seeing our name at the top of menu recognizing our anniversary. We decided to split the veal and pork ragout and it was delightful.
