great place, great food, somewhat better with discount coupon
perfect place for our honeymoon
Excellent food and outstanding service.
Who can’t be transported to heaven on Waikiki beach but the Veranda takes you all the way there. Yes prices are crazy and portions small but what would you pay for the best seat on the shore.
Amazing food and venue!Amazing view
We are kama'aina who rarely go to Waikiki but wanted to have a lovely moment together. Tea was the perfect thing and the most outstanding part was the service. Pleasant, attentive without being intrusive. The tea service was tasty but the portions somewhat skimpy compared to tea around the world. We particularly enjoyed the savories and scones. The pastries could improve. All in all, though, a delightful afternoon moment!
My gfs and I did "afternoon" tea for 4 using travelzoo vouchers ($59 for 2 for the classic set, can use up to 2 vouchers per table). Normally it is $45/person so this was a steal! The classic set came with 5 sandwiches, 7 pastries and a choice from 6 teas.
Savory "sandwich" bites
*lobster- FAVORITE savory, with its fresh generous portions of sweet lobster and a very subtle aioli
*truffle egg- very pleasant with that soft bread, elevated with that delicate use of truffle oil
*smoked salmon - a beautiful flavorful bite, and wished there was more
*chicken salad - very tasty with beautifully soft bread and added freshness of the sliced cucumber and tomato
*miso chickpea tartlet- surprisingly tasty
*peppermint choco macaron - lovely, very forward mint flavor without tasting like tooth paste, but also balanced with that strong dark choco layer, and the cookies itself were so delicate, with a soft chew.
*Stollen- softer than it looks with a surprisingly pleasant sweet holiday flavor
*Kabocha Madeleine - soft and nice pumpkin spiced flavor.
*snowflake cookie- meh. It was too hard and not memorable. But beautifully iced.
*cranberry Scone (x2) - ok, a little dry but at least saved by the lemon curd and clotted cream
*chestnut cream roll - the chestnut filling is so smooth, the cake is so soft and fluffy. It was perfectly sweet.
*tartlet - AMAZING and our FAVORITE dessert. The Bottom is buttery shortbread, filled with a marzipan, topped with a choco mousse dome dusted. Love the layers of textures that weren't overly sweet
Enjoyed the old architecture and the veranda. Perfect setting for tea time right in the beach. The live music was SUPERB, his selection of music was on point and enhanced our experience.
Service very friendly, but slow (waited a while to order for our food, and to get the check).
Complimentary validated self-parking at Sheraton Princess Kaiulani or validated valet parking (plus tip) for up to 4 hours.
Our visit was perfection! We were given one of only two oceanfront tables and the service was impeccable. Staff were very nice and the food was amazing. Highly recommend.
Beautiful ambiance, right by the beach. Food was excellent and service good
For my wife’s birthday during vacations in Hawaii.
it was really excellent experience.
It was wonderful time for us.
Nothing beats eating lunch on the beach in beautiful surroundings. Delicious finger sandwiches, good variety, specialty teas and fattening sweets. Thanks to Travelzoo I could afford a little bit of paradise pleasure.
It was nice to enjoy vacation at such a historical and cheerful hotel in Waikiki. It was worth to go.
We were so thrilled to find this place on the last day of our trip, but regretful that we didn't know about it sooner. The ambiance was wonderful. You can enjoy high tea or a casual break from the beach. Definitely coming back on our next trip!
Overall very good and it remains a place I'd take my special friends and family to. Menu has been updated since I came last time in 2018. High tea is what we order. Lucky on day of our lunch the weather
was gorgeous. It was a picture perfect day.
We booked this for a meal after the wedding. The atmosphere and staff were very good and the food was good. I'm glad I chose this shop. Thank you very much.
I had a special time! thanks.
The setting is beautiful and the service was wonderful. I was disappointed with the menu. A couple days previous to this we had eaten lunch in the area around the Banyan tree and it was the same menu. I suppose I was expecting something a little more varied.
It was so relaxing and what we needed. We already booked another reservation
Outstanding service from beginning to end, awesome food, very reasonably priced.
Tea at the Moana is a fun thing to do, with both in and out of towners. Such a beautiful hotel which has retained most of it's charm through all these years! I have to say, however, the food was good but nothing to rave about, and very expensive for what it was. Service was topnotch, and the setting is lovely (as long as you have a table looking out at the ocean, and not at the swimming pool!
Beautiful setting! Lana was the perfect server. Great experience
Our server Daniel went above and beyond and treated our birthday girl with special attention and gifts and professionalism. The entire family had a great time and enjoyed the food. The view was amazing and the music in the background was just perfect. The whole first time high tea experience was excellent. Thank you!
Really nice view with nice service and foods thanks
Our family loved the ambience and the restaurant’s architecture and furnishings. It is beautiful to sit and dine while looking into the courtyard with the Banyan tree, tables are set far enough from each other that you can have a private conversation without having anyone hear you, and vice versa. The staff and service was outstanding and our meals were well prepared and delicious. We ordered the pre fixe lunch and the next day we came back for afternoon tea. Our kids’ meals were excellent as well. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Waikiki. Don’t forget to go upstairs to see the hotel’s museum for its history and photos, artifacts. Highly recommend The Veranda for everything a dining experience should be! Mahalo.
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed graciously by hosts and seated with a perfect ocean view. Jeremy was our server and he gave us outstanding service. The Chef catered to a gluten allergy which couldn’t have been more appreciated. I traveled from NJ and this afternoon tea was a highlight of my trip. It was perfect.
Service was great, the view spectacular, the food was a great price for being in Waikiki, and the parking was better than expected. Parked at the PK. Ate the eggs benedict - it came with a small green salad and colored potatoes. you can order off the menu or go for the buffet. I wasn’t hungry enough for the buffet.
Fabulous food and spectacular setting.
Service was highly attentive and outstanding.
Consistently great food and excellent service. Always a must when I am in Aloha.
