Verace: True Italian
Monday-Wed: 4:00pm - 10:00pm
Thursday- Saturday: 4:00pm- 11:00pm
Pleasantly surprised. This place has huge potential but it's not quite there yet. Started off with warm bread for the table, with a whipped ricotta cheese, honey and cracked pepper spread. Very nice. We had 2 apps, steamed muscles in a taste white based sauce and baked clams oreganata style. Both were delicious. We waited a bit for out entrees, service was slowing down as it got busier. We had A spicy linguini special with lobster in a pink sauce and a homemade pasta with lobster, corn, asparagus and I think pancetta, this is on the menu. Both we good. Mine was warm and had cold spots on the plate, like it was sitting under a heat lamp for a bit. The linguini was piping hot with cold lobster on top. Both dishes were tasty but a bit disappointing. We would return, maybe earlier in the day. Oh, drinks were really nice, red sangria and a cucumber vodka based cocktail. Dinner for 2 was 145.00 plus tip.
We came with friends for your Thursday night event of $10 Pizzas, music, & $4 Montauk beers. Was disappointed that we were banished to the Alley. We should have been able to sit at your outside bar patio. Felt like we were duped. Not good PR
We had a great time, food and wine were wonderful. There was a problem with the meal coming out but everyone worked hard to make it right. Good time all around
We went here with another couple for dinner. Well decorated and seemed like a cool place to have cocktails and dinner. Menu was limited and we were surprised there were not more traditional Italian selections but that was okay because we were looking for something new and different. Service and food was good. Our biggest issue was the place was unusually cold. It was like we were in an Ice Bar. Even the men were cold. There was freezing cold air blowing on our heads the entire time. We mentioned this to our waiter but we knew there would be nothing he could do about it. We rushed through our meal so we could get outside to warm up. Then we went next door to Tellers for dessert and after dinner drinks. I guess if we decide to give this place another try we will bring our winter coats.
We love the creativity of the weekly wine dinners. It's a high point of our week! The summer the featured wines are from Long Island. How good is that!
Sunny afternoon enjoyed the alfresco dining, good vibe!
Verace is my excellent. The food is always great, outside seating is wonderful. Mario and everyone go over and above to make your dining experience worth every minute.
A gem. Felt like I was on vacation. Food was really
Our meal was amazing! We will be going back for the Shrimp Risotto! We went for our 5th anniversary and they delivered complimentary champagne which was so sweet! We definitely recommended this place and will be returning again soon!
Everything was delicious, & the outdoor patio is beautiful!
Excellent Wednesday wine dinner! As usual, there was another excellent preparation. Service was friendly and efficient.Such a comfortable dining atmosphere!
Unfortunately it was my first time here and I did not have a great experience. The service was extremely slow I waited an hour for my food and it was only 2 of us plus the food was just alright.
Everything about this place is completely amazing. Both the staff and the food are second to none!
Our family visited Verace for a special occasion. Everything was absolutely perfect! Delicious food, wonderful service, relaxing atmosphere.
We love the creativity of the wine dinners and the surprise of something new not on the regular menu! We've become Wednesday night wine dinner devotees. Chef Mike and crew are fantastic, as are all the waitstaff! It's been our favorite place to dine on Wednesday evenings.
My family LOVE Verace True Italian! Like all the Bohlsen Restaurant Group "joints," it
never disappoints. And take advantage of the warm weather and enjoy your meal outside. It really is so nice on their patio.
Always enjoy chatting with Stephanie, one of the managers; she is awesome and so knowledgeable about food and the food industry on LI and in the City. Hostess Dana is always a pleasure to see and converse with. Andres was our server once again and he is always top-notch! Andres, along with his "shadow server" James H. plus Jared and Jefferson make for a formidable team. We appreciate always being treated so well here.
The apple pecan salad, meatballs, and cacio e pepe pasta all made for delicious appetizers. The bianco verde pizza outrageous! The tuscan steak was cooked just perfect for us and it was a good size piece, too! In-house made pistachio, chocolate, and vanilla gelato made for a perfect finale to a fantastic meal and the Verace Cosmopolitan was a tasty celebratory drink.
We are only sorry GM Mario was not working that night as we missed saying hello to him; next time!
If you are ordering fish, just be advised that they serve it on the rarer side, if you like it cooked more, you may need to specify when ordering. Better undercooked than overcooked.
I really liked the way it was on first impression; a fashionable, stylish, clubby feel. We sat outside which was a very nice space with shrubbery and lights that created a very intimate feel. Really excellent menu with tasty fare, portion size good and presentation very nice. Drinks were superb. The staff was not that attentive unfortunately. We had to track someone down for our second drink which is kind of annoying. Our waitress kept disappearing inside and the other waiters ignored us even though restaurant was less than a 1/4 full. I was dressed casual after a Sunday afternoon by the water , but I was not scruffy, I felt the service would have been more forthcoming and generous if my husband had a suit on and I had a dress on. Just that feel you get, you know. That being said, many wealthy people dress simply and low-key--- you never know so don't judge!!
Everything was perfection
Went for Thursday night pizza and Montauk beers special. Didn't realize this was only applicable on the patio. We ordered 2 pizzas and 1 Montauk beer.... Clearly we we're there for the special promotion. Bill came and everything was full price. When asked the waiter he got his manager to tell us it was only applicable outside on patio. Not for nothing, but waiter should have mentioned that when we placed our ordered. Also waited 20 mins to sit even though we had a reservation. When finally taken to sit, there were 7 open tables (four 4 tops and three 2 tops), and it's not because there was a mass exodus right before. Literally no one left right before we sat. I don't get that. My tiny glass of selzer water was $4 (more than half a beer). When time to pay bill, waiter wouldn't let us use more than 1 gift card. Bill came to $45 for 2 pizzas and 1 beer. Over experience was very frustrating.
It was another great meal at Verace. Service was a bit off as it took forever for dinner to be served. Didn't mind too much since we were with good company and had time to talk. The waiter was great and handled the delay with ease and humor.
This is home to us, our go-to place. Never disappointed. Great service, and chef Mike and manager Mario treat us like old friends.
As usual the wine dinner did not disappoint! Great flavor combo: steak and ratatouille . Superb first course of crudo fish. Just the right amount of dessert -- so flavorful. Really nice wines for each course. Attentive, efficient and friendly wait staff.
Great food and great service. Will be returning
We had another great night at Verace!! I brought my brother-in-law and his wife this time and they really enjoyed the food , service and ambiance. I am sure this will be another place they will go frequently. We are always very happy when dining at Verace!!!!
Great Wednesday night wine dinner. Really enjoyed it all. The wines were a perfect pairing with each course. We will be back!
We love Verace! Pleased with the food and service every time!
Always a pleasure
The arancini was luscious -- creamy inside and light crunch outside! Heavenly!!
Can’t remember if the waiters name was Jake or Jack but he was great. He was patient when we trying to figure out what we were going to drink. Glad he told us the specials of the day because the melon salad was to die for and was the perfect appetizer. We sat outside and the ambience was perfect. Verace never fails!
Yummy pork chop!
Awesome food, service and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend Verace to anyone looking for a great restaurant for any type of event.
Waiter and staff were very Accommodating, food was perfect , atmosphere was perfect for a nice night out!
As always, this is my favorite restaurant. The spaghetti and meatballs are outstanding, even though it's such a traditional and simple dish. Order this and you'll thank me!
The wine dinner was so creative and delicious. It was a real treat for the taste buds. Chef Mike and his crew turn out incredible preparations . We loved the stuffed squash blossoms and the seared scallops, and the Napoleon was heavenly!
Excellent as usual. Asked for AC to be turned down. Ate with my coat on.
Excellent as always. Service was fantastic. Food was excellent. Always a pleasure to dine at Verace.
Worst Mother’s Day. Felt I had let my wife down. Had to walk out.
My favorite restaurant! I find an excuse to come here whenever I can 😊
