   The Christmas theme lunch was delicious and yummy. The portion size was great and set up 9f the VenUwas brilliant. The staff and students who served were very professional and polite. Really enjoyed our gathering with team and would definitely go back to eat again with friends and family.

   Great restaurant run by the students at Vic Uni Footscray. All well presented and friendly. It is a teaching venue and good to see the students being shown "on the job" in a real life situation. We all had a variety of meals and good wine . 6 on a round table and all getting older but the background noise was minimal and all could hear the conversation at the table - so that was great. One diabetic diner i our group and with adequate notice they were able to accommodate that with low carb /low sugar meal and dessert which was very much appreciated

   Nice and friendly students, they try their best to provide the best service to customers and also learn from it. The food was tasty and literally worth of money, would definitely come again.

   This is was my 2nd visit to VenU, both times have been on a Friday for the Buffet. Although there wasn't a huge range what they did have on offer was good considering it is $15pp. The food was fresh and tasty and I would highly reccomend you give it a go. The wait staff were friendly and did a great jobs. Also, if you do visit please remember this is a restaurant for teaching so don't be too critical. Will definitely go again.

   The spaghetti on the menu was bolognese was a ragu very different . The beef was served in a croc pot with no plate therefore the knife and fork would not balance in the croc pot and kept falling out on to the table cloth. plus it looked odd. The Cauliflower soup was really plain no flavor at all.

    we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. One lady has hearing issues and she had little trouble hearing the conversation. One lady is diabetic so that restricted her choice as she is low carb and no sugar - so no desserts were appropriate and only the soup entree: but it was not a major issue and we will return

    very nice meal, enthusiastic service and great value for money. Bit hard to find entry after dark in deserted universityx perhaps a couple of decent sized street signs would assist.

    What an enjoyable evening we all had. The food was fabulous. We appreciated that it is a hospitality training venue and the wait staff did a wonderful job learning as they went. Chefs/cooks also in training and we enjoyed all 3courses. Would definitely recommend and look forward to dining there again.

    The food and the prices are very good. The staff are learning and still finding their feet which is to be expected. They are very conscientious and really want you to have a good night.

    Great food at a fantastic price. Good range of drinks at very reasonable prices. Real cocktails at $10. The service staff are in training so as expected it wasn't perfect but they were very attentive and more than willing to assist. The biggest error was that the entree and mains were served at the same time, someone got there timing wrong.

    Will never return. Bad food, terrible service, and couldn’t have a conversation on account of the noise level. Was extremely disappointed, as VenU came highly recommended by a close friend. Just, terrible.

    For $30 the food is an absolute knock-out, and the student chefs should be incredibly proud of the menu they've put together. The food was tasty, well-prepared and thoughtfully plated. As far as value for money, it's an incredible deal. Where else can you get three delicious, generous courses for under $50, let alone $30. The tasting platter included beautifully cooked rare girello, for mains I had perfectly cooked salmon with a walnut, beetroot and goats cheese salad, and for dessert the classic sticky date pudding. Other menu options included ham and cheese croquettes, sous vided chicken breast, scotch fillet and an eton mess. I highly commend the student chefs on their effort and output. Unfortunately, their efforts in the kitchen were greatly let down by the service staff. The service staff were inept, we were seated without menus, had to wait over an hour to receive them, dinner rolls were brought without butter, desserts were served without cutlery, we constantly had to ask for the most basic things to be brought over, they forgot milk with tea, when we ordered wine they had to come back to confirm our order. It was very disorganised and they seemed to have no-one managing them or overseeing their efforts. Despite this, and because of the quality of the food, we would return.

    We have come here the past few years to support the students and enjoy some great food. The entrée crostini were lovely and fresh and the soup was hearty, the salmon and steaks tasty and the desserts lovely. The service had its share of learning experiences, but overall our waiter was very accommodating. It was a nice night out for our group.

    This is a hidden gem, Venu is the training restaurant for Victoria University. You get top quality food at a very reasonable price. Usually only open for lunch a few days a week during the teaching periods, but was a lovely addition to go there last night for dinner. Set menu 3 courses for $30. Everything was superb. I had carrot and cumin soup followed by scotch fillet on potato rosti with mushrooms and for dessert fruit tart with marshmallow kisses. My partner had the tasting plate followed by pasta and for dessert salted caramel ice cream sandwich. It was faultless restaurant quality cuisine.The staff make you feel very welcome,some come across as being nervous and a few things you might expect usually from waiting staff don’t instantly occur,but keep in mind they are training to get a qualification in hospitality. This is an all occasions place with high quality food. It does have a good selection of beer,wine and spirits again with very reasonable prices I strongly recommend you book to avoid disappointment.

    The staff were very friendly and helpful They were a bit hectic once a few tables arrived I think they were being closely watched by their supervisor and trying their best They didn't have any carlton draft unfortunately
