This was one of best restaurants in Midland a few years back, but the last few times we have been there, the food is not as good and the wait staff is unprofessional to say the least. We had to hunt for our server to get our ticket and he was visiting with another server. Probably will go back. Garlic Press is by far a better place to eat a high end dinner.
The service was terrible. I had to ask for a high chair 4 times for our 11 month old. They took 20 min to seat us even though we had a reservation, they still sat others before us. When we asked about our table they said oh yeah and then set up one of the many open tables that have been available since be had asked the first time to be seated. It took forever to the waiter to come over to greet us. There was dirty silverware and napkins on the table. It took an hour and 30 minutes for our entrees to come out and the waiter was gone most of the meal in general which made it difficult to ask for refills or a new bottle of wine which had been out since the first 30 min of sitting there. The calamari felt and tasted like rubber. It took forever to get our check. Not much else to say other than I would never go back there again.
Venezias is always the BEST!
The food and service our passes any place in midland Tx.
Great place for a business dinner!
Food is great! I sure wish they would serve real butter with their bread though!
Food and ambiance very good. Server seemed rushed. Failed to establish a rapport. This is a nice restaurant for special occasions. Has best veal dishes in Permian Basin. Excellent wine list.
Poor service, bad food, nowhere near as "classy" as people describe it. Took 10min for my girlfriend to get water, another 5 for me. Another 15 for drink or food orders to be taken. The spilled wine all over my girlfriends glass and on the table. My girlfriend's Chicken Parmesan was rubbery. I ordered Duck Catchitorie, and got pork with mushrooms and potatoes. Don't waste your time or money here. Go to any of the other italian food restaurants in Midland. Olive Garden is better than this place.
Very classy, clean, our server had great customer service, was my fiancé birthday and they offered us a cake which was complimentary . That was sweet . The food was delicious . Great wine selection menu .
Went to eat dinner Total was $113.68 with tip woke up the next morning my To check my account they charge my card $649.00 and I can’t get the money back until it post to my account. Sad thing was I was on vacation with my girlfriend and it really messed up or budget and plans for the weekend
Great seafood 🦞 😘
Quality dining at a reasonable price with attentive staff & an excellent menu & wine list
My wife and I have been here multiple times and the food and service was excellent but on our last trip I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and it tasted like a TV dinner, it definitely was not made there in the restaurant and had to have came out of a bag which is a shame for such a nice restaurant.
The food was good, but expensive. We loved the crab cake and red fish. I wish the service could have been better, but that is expected in Midland even if you are at an expensive place. They have a huge wine list and a beautiful outdoor dining area. My husband and I would like to try Venezia again in the future to see if we have a better experience.
Consistently great menu and service. Wine selection is second to none. We enjoy the steaks and desserts!! Some tables are a bit too close, especially those corner tables.
If you get Tino, you won’t find a better waiter! Will absolutely not be disappointed with the quality job he does. We request him personally every time we go.
Our waiter was outstanding!! It was my twins Birthday and you ran out of Italian Cream cake. .. We all had desert except him but I drove back over Thursday and got him his cake!! He was so excited!! All was good!! We love your Restaurant!!
We had a wonderful meal in a delightful seeing with an attentive server.
Warm bottle of an $85 wine. All chicken meals were supposed to be different but just came out with a different sauce on top. Could have been listed on the menu as grilled chicken breast and select your sauce. Much too expensive for what we got.
The rack of lamb was excellent, however the veal was over cooked and sloppy. The entire restaurant needs to be updated at list a bit, change the carpet.
For the price I can't say I'm impressed.
Atmosphere and service was great. Food was delicious. Its a wonderful restaurant just a bit to high priced for what you get.
I went to eat with my brother. We were sat and no one asked us for 30 minutes what we wanted. I had to get up myself and get a wine menus. I guess the owner took our wine order, and then a waiter approached us. We ordered the calamari, duck parppadelle and chicken parm. The calamari never came before we got our main dish. My duck parppadelle was ground meat. I couldn't tell if it was duck or not. It was ik but I expected seared duck or duck breast. My brother's dish was ok. Service was not great as we had to wait a lot and I thought they had even forgot about us. I tipped 15% but that is really low for me, i felt like tipping lower on 125 dollar bill but I used to work in food and bev so I felt bad. I guess service was bad and food wasn't up to par. I complained about my pasta and they offered for a free plate but I opted not too. The owner or some guy that had come by out table for the wine order, told me the duck parppadelle was excellent. I complained but he never came out after I complained. Probably just an off night but I probably won’t be back.
The quality of the food was not worth what we paid.
We sat down at table for 16 min. No one asked if we wanted anything to drink. I had to ask someone to notice our table. It was my daughter’s graduation, this started off a a real let down.
We finally got drinks. Both my daughters and I had water. Which was not refilled but once the whole hr. Time we were sitting at the table. We had one bread and never asked if we wanted more.
My husband ordered a second beer and the waiter forgot. ( so frustrating )
The pasta was not authentic for a Italian restaurant. It looked and tasted like a boxed pasta sides. Which is a $1 at any store. The chicken was horrible I ate 2 bites. The vegetables were very salty. $24 for this meal was such a rip off.
The shrimp was good and that’s the only thing good about this restaurant.
Great place to be!!!
Enjoyed wifes birthday had fun and food was really great and balue great and great service
One of best wine lists in town. Food is consistently good and sometimes great. Steaks and lamb are excellent and the white veal dishes very good.
I made the reservation on the app, but when we got there, on time, the hostess said they didn’t have a table for us, and it would be a 20 minute wait. I told her I made the reservation on Open Table, and she shrugged, kept wrapping silverware, and repeated that they didn’t have a table. There was no place for our party of 8 to sit and wait. Finally another hostess said they could set up a table outside. We were under an overhang of the roof, and water kept dripping on one of our party. We ordered right away, but it took over an hour to get our food. Also, the app says $$, but the entrees were pretty pricey. We could see that other tables were getting attentive service, but they treated our table like an afterthought. I will not back, and will be a careful about using the app in the future.
Great spot to visit, wife was working here for the week and we decided to go. At first we were kind of skeptical cause the water and bread person came to the table and didn’t speak or smile, but the waiter explained she didn’t speak much English. Still a smile and hello isn’t hard to speak but after that explanation the evening picked up and the food was good and our waiter was really nice. Thanks Antonio for the save. Will visit again when we come back through.
This was my 2nd time eating here and it was wonderful as usual.
Service was wonderful! Veal chop — average.
Crab cake appetizer - best we’ve ever had.
Based on my experience, this restaurant is totally overrated. I wasted about 2 hrs for a worthless dinner experience. From getting a menu to getting a drink to getting the dinner took for ever. I waited 1.5 hr to find out that they have no vegetable available for my salmon! I can understand this if they were busy. The restaurant was mostly empty. In my opinion, they are still in business because they have no competition
We were seated and waited 30 minutes before getting drinks. Then it was another hour before our entrees arrived. Beautiful restaurant on the patio this time of year but very very slow. Food was great...but it felt like an ordeal
We went for Mother's Day lunch, in my reservation that I made online 2 weeks prior to Mother's Day I asked that my party sit on the patio, that wasn't honored. When we were seated our server who I'm assuming was a manager of some kind ( he wasn't dressed in black like the other wait staff) was very short and not attentive, we had to ask other wait staff for more water and drinks because ours was no where to be found. When the food came 6 of the 7 came. I had to wait another 5ish minutes for my food to come. Overall food was just okay nothing special but my family was very disappointed in our experience.
I would not recommend this to a friend because aside from the beautiful patio environment , the food was mediocre , the wait to actually get our lunch was extraordinarily long (although the table next to us waited even longer ) and one member of our party got violently sick after eating the beef tenderloin. I did call to inform them of this and although the manager said sorry , I could tell he really didn’t care or have the slightest concern as to why I called . Disappointing because I make a point of going to family owned businesses as opposed to chain restaurants if I have the opportunity to do so .
Went for Mother’s Day and made a reservation in advance. Service was very slow. They were out of things we ordered and substituted with other sides without warning us. They brought our food to the table like it was exactly what we ordered only it clearly wasn’t. It would have been nice to have had a choice on side instead of substituting with something I would have never ordered. They ran out of dessert we wanted and we were discouraged from ordering cappuccinos because it would take at least 15 min to get it. We were disappointed and had really been looking forward to lunch especially since my parents were visiting from out of town.
Consistency is king in Midland and Venezia has it. Always enjoy the food and the service is excellent. Great wine selection.
As always, cuisine was excellent; the wine was excellent (although they didn't have my first choice), and the service attentive without being intrusive. TRULY this is THE Italian restaurant to dine at in West Texas!
Enjoyed everything about it ❤️❤️❤️❤️, food and wine were amazing!! Best goat cheese salad I have ever had!!!
I used Open Table to make my reservation because the restaurant wasn't open yet. The Open Table site would not let me make a reservation for a party larger than 8, so when the restaurant opened, I called and changed my party size to 12 and asked for outdoor seating. Both were granted. When I arrived the reservation changes had not been made in the system and we were taken to a table for 8 indoors. After a short wait our outdoor table for 12 was prepared. Not a good start for a party of 12 to stand around waiting for place settings and glasses.
Enjoyed our time at Venezia .... was wondering if any vegan options were more available there!! I got the eggplant Parmesan but unfortunately it already came with a cheesy breading on it..I asked if could be served without the breading and they said sadly it couldn’t..... it was delicious tho.... but would’ve preferred to order without that. It’s a wonderful restaurant to have a nice outing with friends and family!
