Our menu honors year-round classical favorites and seasonal specialties from the region of Veneto, with ingredients coming from Italy and the finest local purveyors. But it's the experience around those elements that you won't forget.
Being at VENETO is like being in Amy & Marco's home. It's a warm, inviting environment curated with one-of-a-kind antique European furniture and accessories, from the hundreds-year old Italian sofa in the dining room to the Italian marble in the restrooms. We want you comfortable, relaxed, and immersed in Italian culture as you ponder the menu, soak up new knowledge, and enjoy inspired conversation along the way.

Veneto is an intimate dining experience. You feel as if you are a guest in someone's home and they are sharing their favorite recipes with you. The food is prepared simply with quality ingredients. We shared our meal family style, starting with their house mixed salad. We had to be disciplined to not eat all the fresh, crusty bread that came with it. Next came the bigoli pesto. As expected, the pasta was vibrant and flavorful with an extra shake of salt (maybe one shake too many). We followed this satisfying dish with branzino. The fish was moist with the right amount of crispness in the skin. The lemon and capers played the perfect supporting role. We ended the meal with gelato, of course. While some have mentioned that prices are on the higher end, the food, ambiance, service, and no-tipping policy makes it worth it. We'll be back.
Food was good but overpriced. They provided better service to higher profile customers while others were ignored. We were finished our food 20 minutes before we even received our check. Had to ask two different employees for it.
I was honestly very disappointed considering all of the glowing reviews. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but definitely not great either. Some of the food was ready good while some was just, meh. The service was slow and he never checked to see if everything was correct or to our liking. I think what really got to me was the music. First off it was WAY too loud, and when I asked of they could turn it down they never did. I had to move closer to my wife so I could even hear her. If the type of music wasn't so lively it may not have been so bad, but I felt like we were listening to an Italian pop station. Completely wrong atmosphere for that. Also, if you're not going to have real candles at the tables, then just eliminate candle holders with the fake flame/lights altogether. In the end, I paid nearly $150 for 2 people and I was WAY underwhelmed. I'd suggest Vaulters or Mia Sicilian if you're wanting great food and service. Anniversary dinner....fail!
There's something to be said for finding a perfect restaurant that has great ambiance, delicious food, and isn't overly crowded. Veneto is a wonderful place to eat at for a birthday, anniversary, or even just a date night. The food and wine are exquisite and Amy + Marco (as well as the other hosts/hostesses) will go out of their way to give you a perfect dining experience. They provided wonderful recommendations for wine and what pairs well with what. I was lucky enough to go back in November for my birthday and it was absolutely marvelous! It was easily the best Italian food and birthday dinner experience I've had. This year, I was able to have my parents go as a special Father's Day dinner. My parents had nothing but glowing reviews. They were so attentive and friendly to them-it made for a very special evening even though I wasn't able to be there. If you are looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, look nowhere else but Veneto.
Did not have full menu available but did not let us know until after we were seated. Salad was good, pasta OK and one main dish OK and the other one bad. The temperature was over 100 outside and the restaurant felt rather warm. Not an enjoyable experience overall.
Thank you for the feedback. We strive to exceed every guest's expectations. At times things are out of our control. The current record breaking heat is taking it's toll on everyone, incl. our small building. We do our best to keep the space cool for our team & guests. There are also current challenges w/the global supply chain that you experienced first hand. Having fresh fish on the menu means we're vulnerable to issues when they arise. We hope you understand and will consider another visit.
This was our first taste of the new summer menu. The patio was sparsely populated because of the heat, but we actually enjoy the warmth. We each began with a glass of chilled wine, she the Friulano and the rosatto for me and then began the progression of food, starting with a plate of burrata and prosciutto and a radicchio salad to share. We each then ordered the bigoli with basil pesto and lavender flowers, followed by the branzino. The sun had disappeared behind the Oquirrh mountain range, as we finished in the night's darkness (although under a well lit patio) with the panna cotta with kiwi for her and the strawberry crostata for me. Marco recommended a nice chardonnay to accompany the meal. We so enjoy the changing menu each quarter, trying out new creations, and then back to the standard menu or the special tasting menu a few times before the next turn of the calendar. I wonder what we will have next time.
The details you provide for others to enjoy are beautiful! Thank you for your constant support!
Tasting menu - wonderful as always.
Terrific and interesting wine pairings.
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review and share details about your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back again to one of our tables soon!
The food was salty, oily, and over spiced. The Gnocchi we had only tasted like liquid smoke, the ravioli was so salty we couldn't taste anything else, and the service was sub-par. We're up for giving it one more shot sometime, because the ambiance was nice outside and the wine selection is fantastic. Hopefully they figure the rest out.
Thank you for the feedback. We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your meal. Respectfully, we'd like to address your concerns: The gnocchi you selected has a smokey flavor from the cheese (Gnocchi Sbatui di Malga-mountain gnocchi w/butter, sage, monte veronese & smoked ricotta cheese). The cheese inside & on top of the ravioli is pecorino, a salty cheese (Ravioli Cacio e Pere-ravioli filled w/pecorino & bartlett pears). We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again & leave you satisfied.
This is a NY or LV quality restaurant hidden in Salt lake City. The tasting menu is awesome, the pairings wonderful, and the food exquisite. Prices are also NY or LV style!
Thank you for taking the time to post a review and share details about your experience. We sincerely appreciate the compliments and look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Summertime is here and the patio beckoned us to have our first go at Veneto's summer tasting menu with wine pairings. This season it's all seafood based and what a delight it is. Starting with small portions of raw Pacific fish, through large grilled prawns, two extraordinary seafood pastas and finally delectable sea bass. Both white and red wines from Italy enhanced the tastes of the courses perfectly, as is customary for Marco and Veneto. I'm looking forward to our next meal at Veneto!
We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the new summer tasting menu. It's always a pleasure to serve you both!
Attentive to my dietary restrictions with regards to garlic and onions.

Fantastic dining experience. Incredible wine list and the expertise to back up recommendations and create a wonderful meal. Can’t wait to go back
4/5 on value because it’s not a “value” place. It’s a place where you pay for what you get and what you get is worth it.
Excellent meal from beginning to end. We sat outside and there were other diners but overall the ambiance was relaxed. We were cautioned that the meal would and is meant to take some time. However, we never found ourselves waiting.
Marco and Amy are two of the most innovative and hospitality driven couples I have ever met. A special occasion or best clients in town deserve a night at Veneto.
We visited on Mother's Day 2021. It was our 1st time to dine at this restaurant. A very large party of at least 20 people with children were in the main dining room. They were very noisy for a fine dining restaurant, and did not leave until after 8pm. We like their "no tipping" policy but, of course, it is built into the price. We found the corkage fee to be high at $35 per bottle. My asparagus was way too thin, and not enough of it. The meat dishes were way too large 2-2 1/2 lbs. minimum! The desserts were delicious!
Veneto is one of the 5 best Italian restaurants...IN AMERICA. Not SLC. America. It’s that good. I’m not exaggerating. Go and you’ll see.
We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing for our anniversary - it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had!
Veneto is a lovely, intimate establishment. We had the risotto (creamily outstanding), and the filet of angus (which was also outstanding and cooked perfectly). The crostata albicocca was the best I’ve ever eaten...and I lived in Northern Italy for two years and ate my share there. The noise level got a bit loud by the end of the evening - there are lots of hard surfaces - but it was still enjoyable. Might have been a challenge if dining with anyone with impaired hearing.
The only l thing that was a bit odd was a comment Marco made about the risotto: he made sure to tell us it was real Italian risotto (which was exactly why we were there). I think it was an attempt to make sure we understood - perhaps other diners have had an issue - but it we are not neophytes to risotto or to Veneto. It was all fine. I also appreciated Marco choosing a wonderful wine in our price range to suit our menu choices.
Amy and Marco are the most gracious hosts. They offer an exceptional dining experience with excellent food and an unparalleled wine cellar. We always enjoy our time in their care.
Excellent place. Food was amazing as service. Would definitely come back to try out the rest of their menu.
Celebrating my retirement with my bride, we could go nowhere else but the Veneto. A perfect spring evening on the patio was just the ticket. Amy showed us to one of our favorite tables. For this special occasion (I plan to retire just once) we had reviewed the menu online and had decided what to have before we arrived. After having a glass of white wine each (Friulano for her, Prosecco for me) and our diverse beginnings, we shared the dry aged t-bone Piemontese beef. While a little pricier than some menu items, she said I was probably worth it. We asked Marco to choose a Barolo that would compliment the beef, match our starters and celebrate the occasion. The Conterno Cascina Francia 2004 Barolo, was perfect. Now, this beef may have the most lovely flavors of any on Earth, along with a tenderness not easily found. If you are not certain, ask how to slice it before you begin. I had learned the wrong direction and until recently not understood what the term tender beef meant. We both had the panna cotta with balsamic vinegar for our dolce followed, as always, by a cup of espresso. This was a meal we shall not soon forget.
Wonderful experience with fabulous service and good food.
Veneto has not skipped a beat during the recent craziness - food is still the best, as is the service and ambiance - this restaurant is truly a gift that everyone should enjoy!
Spring time and outdoor dining have arrived. We had a wonderful experience on the Veneto's back patio. This evening the temperature was just a little cool, so our jackets made us very comfy. The food as always was absolutely scrumptious . After a shared starter of the burrata and prosciutto, my bride had the poached egg with asparagus while I ate the beef tartar. For our primi, she had the ever so creamy spaghetti with zucchini, and I had the tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce. For the secondi, she had the branzino, while I ate the marvelous Lombata Wagu. Marco suggested for our very diverse selections, that we share a bottle of Nervi Conterno Gattinara, a wine made from the Nebbiolo grape, as is Barolo and Barbaresco. It was a perfect solution. She then had the panna cotta with balsamic and I had the semifreddo followed by espresso for each. The informality of the patio makes it fun to have conversations with other tables. We have met many people from other states and regions, and everyone is always pleasant.
Amazing food. Great value.
Marco is incredible!
Extra mile service.
Will be back soon.
Veneto never disappoints. Marco and Amy do a wonderful job. Veneto is one of our favorites.
Beautiful and amazing service and food
Everything was perfect for our meal. We had the Spring Tasting Menu with the wine pairing. I believe it is the most money I have spent on a meal - and it was worth every single penny. The food was beautiful and delicious - excellently paired with wine throughout the evening. The server was passionate about the food, region, and pairings which elevated our experience. The owners came out a couple of times to deliver food and check on the table, and they sent us home with the most delicious handmade Italian cookies. We already have 2 upcoming dates with friends and family to introduce them to this Salt Lake gem. Do not hesitate - book your experience ASAP!
all around perfect Italian experience! Service was extremely professional, attentive but not swarming. fantastic recommendation given to be by a SLC local.
Love this place!!! I feel like I’m in Italy (or at least a big city in the US)! It’s my favorite restaurant in SLC! Great ambiance, great food, great owner!
Best restaurant in Salt Lake City Food is amazing , service is outstanding and the wine list is exceptional. Have Marco, the owner tell you about each dish and have him recommend a wine to pare it with
A fantastic evening and the food is perfection! Feels like eating In Italy or the North End (of Boston) in Salt Lake City. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.
Quality from start to finish. Walking out after a great meal only to handed an anniversary gift!
Great service, and a nice, intimate environment. The wine list is huge, and we started with what we were told was the "traditional" serving of Prosecco as an apéritif. I mean, who wouldn't want to enjoy some chilled sparkling wine while looking over the menus? We shared a salad for our appetizer, which was unlike anything we'd had elsewhere - it was a simple radicchio salad with fried polenta, but it was amazing, as was the brown butter gnocci we shared for our second course. Our mains left a little to be desired - there was nothing wrong with them, other than we felt the proteins were lacking seasoning. Perhaps in Italy it's not customary to season a beef filet much, and that's fine - same with the salmon. Regardless, it was a great experience, and our server was very attentive and humorous, and we'd visit again to try other aspects of the menu. If you're looking for a quiet, yet elegant experience, Veneto fits well.
Wonderful place to have a nice dinner with a very impressive wine list.
Lovely dinner with exceptional service! Definitely a place to go for a special occasion.
My favorite restaurant in town. Spring menu is out. Marco and Amy and their staff always provide genuinely friendly and impeccable service.
Went for a birthday and loved this place! So cute and intimate. Great for date night
Simply the best restaurant in town.
