We had a reservation, but it took quite a long time to get seated. Then it took our server a long time to come over and greet us.

My wife and I along with our two closest friends have been coming to Veneto for over 10 years now and of course change is inevitable yet sometimes hard to embrace.

Veneto has changed period missing I feel is the same locale vibe as it once possessed and I miss and crave that however Veneto still offers a unique Victoria experience and for this I’m still grateful and will continue to come back.

I miss Simon and Brian..

Cheers to the new crew and new look I’ll try to embrace this change as much as I can.

The re-opening of Veneto left a lot to be desired. The new dining room is lacking in any kind of personality and moving the cocktail bar out of the room took out the only source of energy that the old design had.
The cocktails were excellent, so it's nice that that hasn't changed, and the food was good, but not great. The food menu made me think of an all-day diner and the cocktail menu was sticky and stained. Both were disappointing for a recently re-opened restaurant.
There may be some bugs to work out with the latest iteration of this restaurant, but if people are looking for ambience or energy, definitely ask to sit in the cocktail area and not in the dining area.

Veneto was the perfect place to bring my wife for her birthday. Josh, the head bartender, made us some truly amazing cocktails and the food was superb.

I was troubled when I was served a "gluten-free" cracker..that actually wasn't gluten-free. They were very nice and served me the drip with crudities instead. However, I could have gotten very sick. I would probably go to another restaurant next time.

We had a group of 8 that came at different times to the table. The restaurant did a great job of ensuring that as each guest arrived their drink orders then appetizers were taken promptly. Food arrived quickly and our server was always attentive. A hard group to manage as their were so many conversations happening but the restaurant was excellent! Thank you 😊.

The new Veneto was bit disappointing. The dining room feels like a hotel dining room and has lost the funky intimacy of the previous format. While food quality is still good the menu options are all quite heavy and rich. Combine this with large portions and I guess you won’t leave hungry. Maybe this will be a good fit for the tourist crowd but i think Veneto will lose some of it’s local clientele.

Used to love this place. New renovation is a disappointment. The bar side is cool but the new restaurant side is super lame. No atmosphere. Feels like you’re eating at a family restaurant instead of a happening downtown lounge. Took 20min to get a glass of beer. Lots of kinks that need sorting. Don’t think I’ll goback...after years of going here. Definitely disappointed.

Veneto has been one of our "go to" places since moving to Victoria several years go. We loved the vibe, bar scene, wait-staff, and LOVED the small plate sharing. Sadly (for us) they have removed the bar so it is no longer in the dining area. That Veneto fun vibe is now gone and was what had set it apart from other good restaurants in Victoria. The menu has changed to more single plates, with fewer small plates. The food itself is still good as was the staff. Their long very dynamic cocktail menu with the bartender who created the drink named beside the creation is gone as well, just a booklet with the list of cocktail, wines, beer etc. - like every other place. I would definitely tell people to go as we have done in the past, however.... Veneto, since their very recent (opened this week) reno has just lost the fun factor and is now just a nice restaurant. (The bar is in the lobby and is set apart from the restaurant).

The staff at this restaurant were really excellent. They all knew their products and all seemed to be multi-functional (the waiters repaired tables, cleaned them, and also did cash - seamlessly). Add to this some of the finest tapas I have had, and it was a really great experience. My wife and I will return on our next travels to Victoria.

Great drinks, nibbles and super staff. Service is amazing, cocktails are creative. Good price on nibbles during happy hour.

The food at Veneto has always been consistently delicious and getting happy hour prices makes it even better. I love the mac and cheese and the curried garbonzas.
I did find it a little drafty where we were sitting. Sometimes the room can be chilly.

Food is excellent. Service was very good. Really appreciate that they wait for everyone to finish their meal before clearing the table.

Definitely recommend it for the ambiance especially if you are celebrating an occasion.

Our Bookclub meets here for special occasions and have never been disappointed with the food nor the service from the knowledgable friendly staff. Veneto is convenient as it is a short walk from the Songhees.

Went to Veneto for happy hour and the service was excellent. The place was quite busy but our server was friendly, attentive and professional. The drinks and appies were a great price and the food was quite tasty. Loved those wings. Would definitely return!

We really love going here for food and drinks. The small plates and charcuterie boards are always amazing and exactly how we like to dine. We always sit at the bar and enjoy the service from the bartenders. They are very creative, knowledgeable talented. We’ve tried other similar spots around downtown and we always end up coming back here!

My friends and I always enjoy our cocktail and appy nights at Veneto. The staff are always friendly and the food and drinks are delicious. We rarely choose to go anywhere else as Veneto is always consistent with their food, drinks, service and creativity! My only critique is their dessert menu, not at par with the rest of the menu

Excellent meal

Went prior to a show at the theatre. Unfortunately it took almost 25 minutes to gets our cocktails after ordering. The tapas were good once they came. The second round of drinks took long as well. This was my fourth time to Venetos and it has noticeably slipped. Overall getting drinks very slow, limited wine selection food still good but less to choose from. It's a convenient location to the theatre which is good and still a good spot of an afterwork cocktail but not somewhere I'd go for a nice dinner.

A fabulous place for a girls night out! The wine list was extensive and the server was knowledgable and friendly. The menu seemed small at first glance, but everything was done VERY well and there was a lot of thought put into each dish. The portions were larger than I had expected and every single thing we tried was mouth-wateringly delicious! I would absolutely dine here again and look forward to doing so.

Always love coming to Veneto--truly one of the best spots in all Victoria--superb, creative drinks and wonderful appetizers.

Birthday treat for my husband. This was our first visit. The staff were so helpful and attentive. We had our 18 year old with us and didn't know about the age restriction but the staff were really super and accommodating. Great food and a fun place. Will definitely be back!

A fun and enjoyable setting with very good service and creative and interesting tapas. The only real downside was the noise level. Between the music and other diners, it was difficult for our party of 4 to hear each other speak.

I fell on the slippery bamboo floor and now have a concussion. I was given prosseco which was lovely. That floor is slippery. :/
