   Classic Italian ! Loved the spaghetti which was fresh house made and the three meatballs were generously sized and beautifully firm and tasty. For dessert try the chocolate tort which has a black pepper and cherry topping and crushed pistachios and raspberry sorbet. Well balanced regional wine list also reasonably priced. Everything came out on time and beautifully presented. Great service from the waitress who was well trained and attentive but perfectly in the background.

   First date. Great food. Would have rated higher but we didn’t make it to the rooftop to see that, so probably unfair with our rating. Great service. Would like to see more menu items.

   We’ve been to Velvet Buffalo many times - but the service last night was incredible. The server helped us determine the perfect drink and made suggestions based on our tastes. The server also helped us decide on desserts with descriptions that made it easy to understand the unique differences between the dishes. It was next level. We tried the Burrata and Crumpets (unique and tasty), Osso Bucco (absolutely divine), Scallops and Bucatini (a hearty portion), Strawberry Galette (delicious), and Panna Cotta (the macerated berries and pastries on top were dynamite). We love coming here :)

    The food is outstanding, things you would never cook at home. Why go out if it is easy to make at home. The quality, uniqueness is wonderful. The service is also done well in a world where people do not want to work, they do. This coupled with great wine list make it a destination. It is our favorite between Beloit and Rockford.     Contacted the restaurant directly via email prior to leaving this review, but never got a reply. Went for Mother's Day brunch and waited an hour for food, when the restaurant wasn't even full. Tables who arrived after us were being served the same food we ordered, which ended up being mediocre - at best. Our waitress was great and clearly embarrassed about it. This was the second time we went, and was a complete opposite experience of the first time, where the food was good and waitress was terrible. For the money, there are better options.

    It's always a unique experience with a well thought out menu and entrees beautifully paired together with complimentary flavors that I wouldn't ever imagine on my own.There is work that goes into these meals so yes you will pay for it.If the extra nuances don't appeal to you then save your money and go to a steak joint instead.If you want to see what a genius kitchen can procure then give this a try.The building is beautiful and the staff is well trained and very attentive.They also have a the best roof top bar in the area with gorgeous panoramic views of the city.

    The pesto pasta dish was very very salty. We couldn’t eat much of it. But server and everything else was amazing!!!! We’ll still be back.

    Our experience at velvet Buffalo was fine. Nothing that made it super special, but nothing terrible either. We were seated behind a pillar, despite making a reservation when there were other tables open. And it never felt like we were a super high priority throughout the entire dinner. With that being said, nothing was bad, our experience was just average.

    The food was excellent! We had everything from appetizers to dessert! Our server was awesome! We had 2 vegans and a dairy free in our party and our server was so accommodating, checking to make sure everything was perfect! Our martinis were great and the artichoke hearts fritte were the best I have ever had! We had an excellent time! Can’t wait to return!

    It was our first time since the Velvet Buffalo went Italian. We were disappointed with the options on a Lenten Friday options for non meat. We had the Scallops that were simple and flavorless but had an excellent pasta dish. The atmosphere and service were great but the value of what we ate was not worth the dollars compared to other locations in Beloit.
