We were on a budget so ordered the pizzeretas, appetizers and drinks. Everything was great.
It was a quiet Sunday evening and there was plenty of social distancing that made us feel really comfortable.
Definitely plan to visit again.

The food is quite unusual. The bread is great. My husband’s lasagna bolagneese had a strange taste. 2 drinks, 2 small plates $80. The atmosphere is terrific. Might give it another chance when menu updates
During Covid it has been hard to find a dining experience you would like to repeat, but based on our wonderful meal at Velvet Buffalo this week I will be planning another visit. The atmosphere was spacious and tables spaced apart, but yet not feeling like out in open. All servers had on masks, and with the low noise level, we could hear what they were saying. We had the lobster pasta, beef tenderloin and pork shoulder as our main courses. All were good, but our favorite was the pork shoulder. They did not rush our meal and we enjoyed a tasty espresso dessert to finish off our evening.

The overall experience was very good, but after 2 visits, we have decided that the seating is the most uncomfortable of any restaurant we have been to. The chairs need to be upgraded for us to return.

There was hardly anyone at the restaurant- we were seated at 7:15 ( our reservation was for 7) but that was ok because we were had a drink at the bar. We had to wait for our waiter to even acknowledge us. He told our order and 50 minutes later he came with the food.

Very nice atmosphere, our waitress was excellent and the drinks were fabulous! We were a little disappointed that the rooftop had a private event that night, but maybe next time!
We absolutely loved Velvet Buffalo! The atmosphere is beautiful. The food was fantastic with interesting, local and homemade ingredients. The service was just a bit slow but we didn’t care. It was so pleasant sitting there and our server really did try. They were super busy that night. We would definitely go back.
Our waitress was very helpful in choosing our menu selections as we had several questions. The support wait staff was also very prompt in clearing our table as needed. The ambiance was perfect and noise level was just right👍🏻

The marinara sauce had too much salt. Swordfish was an A+. Overall, very good experience. I think the chef was not working so hard to knock them for the marinara or Bolognese....
It's a beautiful restaurant. Our waiter was exceptional! On the noisy side because of all the hard services. Very uncomfortable seating in dining and bar. Prices are a little high and portions are small.
I have a new favorite place to eat in Beloit! Service was awesome!

The meals were fabulous! We love enjoying an evening out there and then going up to the rooftop bar for an after dinner drink.
I previously dined at Velvet Buffalo when the menu was focused on small plates. The food was excellent. Now that it has changed its menu to Italian, the food is still very good. My biggest negative is the value. My husband had a steak which was $48 and I had a pizza and salad. Our bill, with tip, was $110. Our favorite restaurant in Beloit is Merrill & Houston's. When you compare the two, there really is no comparison. We both could get a steak, choice of side, salad/soup, and dinner rolls and it would be less expensive at Merrill & Houston's and better food. At Velvet Buffalo, the only thing that came with our meals was a half a piece of bread (each) and olive oil for dipping. Very small portions and very high prices.

Great food and wine. Bar service was ok, took a little while to get service. Waitress for dinner was fantastic.
Reservation was at 7, but couldn’t be seated until 7:30. It was worth the wait though. Calamari was exceptional and we enjoyed everything. Will definitely return.
Took my grandmother for her 78th birthday! It was amazing! We took her there on Sunday and she still hasn't stopped talking about how much she loved the lobster gnocchi! Thank you so much for such a great experience!
We waited awhile for our server to talk to us about the wine list but otherwise we had great service. The food was good other than putting a bit too much Parmesan on every dish we had. Being from Wisco, we love cheese but a little less parm would have been good.
Wonderful new menu! We love the rooftop also, but sometimes it gets too busy up there for the help that is available.

Wait time for food from ordered to received should not take over 45 minutes with an apology from our waitress. I booked a table reservation week in advanced and still waited twenty minutes for a table to open up.
Top notch experience. Beautiful renovated building. We had cheese board as appetizer and the chicken and filets as entrees. The food was outstanding and the service by Amanda was excellent. They are following all the protocols for safety. We can’t wait to come back and dine and stay. Definitely worth the half hour drive.

Fun, upscale venue. Service was a bit slow. Our party of 5 waited a rather long time for our drink order but in their defense we had a couple unusual drinks. When ordering dinner we asked if anything came with the entree and were told no so we ordered Caesar salads which were very good. When we finished eating my son noticed a nearby table being served bread and found out our server forgot to bring our bread. She offered to get us some bread to take home but we declined. Two in our party ordered dessert and they didn’t charge us due to the bread mistake. Enjoyable evening and interesting menu.
We weren't aware that the menu had changed from small-plates to italian, but luckily the food is just as good as or even better than before. All our dishes and drinks were excellent, although a couple of them could have used a bit less salt.

Our dinner was excellent. My only somewhat negative comment is on regards to the noice level. I know with the industrial style ceilings it’s hard to have a quieter atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Food was excellent!
