We were celebrating our 55th anniversary & hoped for a special evening out after quarantine. First server said the Reisling wine that I ordered wasn’t cold, had trouble with refrigeration, so no wine for me. Then we were surprised at the new menu, loved the old one this one not so much. I had the LambCannelloni and the lamb was over cooked, my husband had the Mushroom Garganelli and it was very good. Not sure we will be back, unless you have a menu change the previous one was interesting and unique. The manager, I think, (short man who worked there) did comp us our dessert after he asked how our dinner was. Dessert
was very good. Please bring some of the previous menu back. Just so you know my husband is Sicilian and we very much enjoy most modern Italian dishes & our daughter manages a large fine dining restaurant In Texas.

New menu with lots of house made pastas and good mix of colors, flavors and textures. We had the tenderloin and the whitefish as entrees and the presentation was beautiful and the portions generous.

Hoping this was just an off night for the food. Been here previously and food was very good. Quality of food was fair at best and prices don’t match quality. Came for my husbands 60th birthday, and we were very disappointed

I have eaten her since they first opened and my last experience was "what the hell happened" I love the squash/maple syrup entree but it was completely tasteless this time, my friend ordered the steak frites and the steak was horrible and the fries were as hard as rocks. Another one ordered the pizza and that was fine. Our waitress was very sweet but not trained well at all at giving good service. So disappointing.

Our second trip there. First trip about a year ago was sensational. The drinks and appetizer this time were very good, the dessert was decent, but both entrees we had were not very good. Steak was tough and a good sized chunk could not be eaten. The flatbread pizza we chose was fairly flavorless.

Sometimes a description of a menu option can get in the way of a great tasting dish. The soup selection, on our Saturday evening, was introduced as “seafood chowder “. This bowl was an excellent example of things done right: it was obvious a great stock was used and actual pieces of seafood were discernible. I would’ve been very happy had this been my entrée. We selected the mushroom and cheese pizza (I will not attempt the Italian spelling here) and were impressed with the variety of mushrooms served on a hand stretched crust. Being a busy weekend in the city, last weekend of the BIFF, slow service would have made us late for our last movie. Service was excellent and we made our showing. We were excited to see one of our favorite cocktails offered on the menus - One Hundred Year Cigar. This drink has an seldom seen flavor profile and we loved that we were able to sit in a restaurant and order it.

We had a great experience celebrating Galentine's Day! Everything was perfect... The food was phenomenal and service was wonderful. My only complaint would be the chairs. Honestly, they were uncomfortable enough that I probably won't come back for a long dinner. Which is a shame, because the food was some of the best I've had in awhile.

8:30pm reservations, not seated until 9:30 and didn’t have even appetizer on table until 10pm.

Servers were pleasant; food was good; Drinks were overpriced for Beloit; table was in the wide open and brightly lit.

The ridiculous wait time all patrons experienced and the fact that they had already run out of some menu items suggests mismanagement led to the poor experience. Very disappointed for what this couple received $250+.

This place feels like you are in a Paris bistro. Terrific ambience. Food was excellent! Try the mushroom flatbread, ahi tuna shared plate and pork chop. Also loved the shrimp tempura too!

The place was nice, but I just don't understand how these prices get set? Once is enough to experience the place, but the price for what you get almost prohibits a return visit. If you are going to charge those kind of prices, the servers need to be tip-top and know their stuff! What ever happened to an accompanying salad and maybe bread/rolls? And $10 for a beer??
The food was very good, but not worth the high price tag.

We had a good time. The quality of food is excellent and I had no concerns. We will go back again. We ordered a couple of appetizers and I ordered the pork dish which was excellent. It’s a very nice restaurant.

We were here about a year ago and really enjoyed it. This time it seemed the wine was insanely expensive. I was disappointed there were no arancini balls this time. We had pizza and it was fine. Expensive.

The food and atmosphere were wonderful, but the service, for the 2nd time, was AWFUL. Too few servers who seemed extremely stressed and were not polite or friendly at all. PLEASE work on the service aspect because we would love to revisit, especially the vegan members of our family.

Great food! Very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing I did not like was the wooden chairs. Very uncomfortable especially when you are trying to relax by enjoying your drink and meal. The high quality of service should reflect at least on their furniture. Decor needs to feel more cozy too.

The food was fantastic. I eat meat, my wife is vegan. We were both able to order things we like. Those choices were delicious. Its rare for us to have somewhere we can both get food we want.

Best experience in a long time! The hostess greeted us, sat us, took our coats and explained the concept of the menu. I had indicated on our reservation that it was our anniversary, and we arrived at our table to find a card signed by the staff. Aaron, our server, was very knowledgeable about the food offerings as well as the wine. He paid close attention to every detail while also leaving us plenty of time to enjoy our meal and chat. They brought out a complimentary anniversary meringue dessert that was absolutely amazing. The rooftop was closed for a private event that had ended so after dessert the manager came over and took us upstairs for a tour of the venue.
We finished the evening with an after dinner drink at the quaint bar in the middle of the restaurant. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back to enjoy again soon.

We were most impressed on our first visit to Velvet Buffalo. The staff was genuinely warm and welcoming and took great care of us. The food was nicely devised and very well prepared. We will add this to our regular rotation - wishing it was just a little closer to our home.

Drinks, appetizers, small plates all excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Upscale vibe but not pretentious. Recommended.
