   I can be critical when dining out. But there was nothing at all to criticise at Vela. Varied & delightful menu. Food was just great. The star of the dishes was the wagyu beef. All dishes were very good. Service was friendly & efficient. Meals came out quickly and the prices were reasonable. I would certainly recommend.

   First-time customers. Great food and service. Perfect venue to celebrate Mother's Day. We will surely return.

   Pad See Ew with the rolled flat noodles were so good we struggled to share! Definitely recommend the Massaman curry as well. One thing I would say is that the portions are a tad smaller than your neighbourhood Thai place, but the flavours are better quality. I’d come again for the next special occasion.

   Had my birthday lunch here with friends, and it was awesome. The food was amazing, we were all stuffed, and it was definitely worth the price. The ambience and design of the restaurant were really nice, super posh and great vibes. Only thing is, it was pretty busy, so we had to wait a bit before anyone took our drink orders. But overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely go back.

   Second visit here, after an initial great weekend lunch. A busy Saturday night this time but nothing was too much effort for the staff. Food came out quickly and seamlessly. My only gripe was that dinner wasn’t as spicy or generous as lunch, but still heaps of food.

   Service great, happy to accommodate change of table for a more comfortable seating for my elderly mum as it was a lunch and not overly busy weekday. Unfortunately our 12pm booking coincided with what seemed to be a marketing photoshoot for the restaurant. This impacted our experience as they decided to take several photos for at least 15 to 20 mins with the big flash of the cameramans professional setup...... think of the under side of an umbrella shooting light continually to understand what I mean. We were asked at the start of it bothered us, thinking it was a couple of photos only, we said not at this stage but it just went on and on! Yes we should have said something but the restaurant was getting busier so table options for us to move were limited and we were already settled with our meals. Not sure why it wasn't done after the close at 3pm? The staff were very obliging when we asked the music to be turned down a bit as we couldn't hear each other talk. The food was amazing though! Lots of food choices and love that the menu has pictures of the food on the menu card to help choose dishes. Staff were so lovely, so well be back but hopefully no photo shoot happening!

   Just had an absolutely delightful dinner with friends at Vela Thai Restaurant in West End, and I can't wait to share what a treat it was! We indulged in a feast of seven dishes, and honestly, every single one was moreish – the kind of food you just can't get enough of. While it's hard to pick a favourite from such a delicious spread, the chilli jam soft shell crab truly stole the show for me. The perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and crispy – it was an explosion of flavour and texture. The entire experience, from the vibrant atmosphere to the friendly service, was top-notch. It's safe to say that Vela Thai has earned a spot on our regular dining list. We will definitely be going back for more of their incredible food!

    The ambience was great. Beautiful setting. Food was excellent,however pricey. Will eat here again.
